simply “not mixing” the pot doesn’t lessen the bitterness of it. In fact, it had been proven in a controlled kitchen that such concept is pretty much just a myth. The only real way one can lessen the bitterness of this vegetable is by soaking it in brine for a few minutes, then by squeezing the brined vegetables as dry as possible. Which does take out a lot of the vitamins and nutrients out, but does the trick if it is taking as much bitterness out is your objective. But I personally don’t understand those who would wanna eat this particular vegetable but wants nothing to do with the bitterness of it. It’s like asking for a water flavoured iced cream, or a bowl of chilli that has no spiciness to it...
@@PinoyTastyBuds Thanks for the response - makes sense. I was so focused on my adult perspective that I forgot the ordeal my mom must have had to go through to prepare multiple stews for my siblings and me growing up. This was too seedy, that was too bitter and the other was too creepy looking.
😍😍😍

It's a poor man's food. One could say they had no choice of the matter and this is their dish on a good day.

Iʻm sorry but I donʻt speak Tagalog, although I Iove ampalaya. What is the seasoning you used?
That's a Magic Sarap an all in one seasoning. A product of Maggi.
Thank you!
Why would you want to remove the bitterness? Isn't it because of the unique taste that you want to eat it for in the first place?
We are considering the kids sir that is why as much as possible we will cook it without bitter taste 🙂

We'll be cooking Ampalaya this weekend. Since there's no kids with us, we won't remove the bitterness. Thanks for sharing the vid.
Pwede din po lagyan ng karneng baboy?
Pwede din po
