  • Hello! Hope you're having a cozy day so far! In this vlog, I spent the day making lots of mini crochet flowers using embroidery threads and pattern from a Japanese craft book. Using the mini flowers, I created a fun project inspired by pressed flowers! I also finally completed my watercolor palette and created a color swatch for it! If you like crocheting, crafting, and DIY at home, I hope you will like this video!

Thank you for your videos. They are so beautiful and your work exquisite. I loved seeing your garden. I know the sadness of waiting for an orchid to bloom, only to have it fall off right away. Of course, fortunately, it will bloom again. I hope one day you will show us how you make dried flowers. I think that would be very interesting.

Great tip on storing split floss! Lovely project. Although I have all of the really small crochet hooks I am unable to do anything like this. They were left to me by my great aunt. She used them into her late 70s… she could crochet anything (even small lace & filet) She could all sew anything! But as she got older and couldn’t see very well she primarily made crocheted covers for wooden hangers. She tried to teach me to crochet when I was young but I didn’t have the patience and didn’t appreciate the value of what she was showing me back then. I ended up wanting to learn after she passed on and had to learn on my own (that was before the internet and RUclips 😂😂😂). I did try to do this smaller crochet but it’s a bit too tedious for me…That is when I realized how special what she was doing was 😏. Your work is amazing!

Thank you very much for watching! I really envy those that can crochet small delicate laces! I feel very fortunate for the internet and RUclips, learning is so much easier now! ✨

Oh, the blues are a very calming color. It is a color that suppresses appetite. I learned that long ago.
It would be pretty to put some yellow flowers in the frame too. I thought about very skinny ribbon bows attached to the flowers would be fun to try. However you finish it will be beautiful. ❤❤

Your work is absolutely amazing! I love how you use the embroidery floss to create the flowers. Can you give me the link to the book please. I tried to find it but couldn't.
Being from West Africa we have a lot of nylon thread. It is very shiny. I think it's either acrylic or polyester nylon thread not cotton so it's very nice to make tablecloths, placemats, coasters and things like that. It's very durable. I use it a lot to make a lot of things for the living room like the little doilies that you put on the couches. We have lots of colors and I love it.
I've always wanted to try using embroidery floss to crochet but I've never quite gotten the hang of it. I always thought you had to use all six trend but I've seen some people use two and other use three or four and I've never been able to split it without making a mess of the whole thing so your method is very easy so I'm definitely going to try that. Once i make some things I'll share share that on Instagram and tag you so you can actually see what I made with it. Thank you so so much for sharing this. I absolutely love it❤😍💓💕

Thank you very much for watching! I think the most important thing is to use really fresh flowers for best results not ones that are about to wilt. I use a wooden press that can be tightened. (My husband made it for me) but you can use books and put something really heavy on top of it. A lot of it is experimenting coz some flowers do better pressed than others. 😊

I love your idea with splitting the floss and winding onto tongue depressors. I have a whole box of those so I tried it out and it was fantastic! It’s also a good way to store my Sashiko thread that is too big to wind on regular floss cards. I also love the way you organize your embroidery floss by shade instead of by the color numbers the manufacturer provides. I’m going to re-organize my floss that way. It was so beautiful just to look at. Thanks for the great ideas! I love how the flower collage turned out!

Thank you very much for watching! It was definitely a lot of work to crochet those flowers! I think I overdid it though...my left finger joints are hurting 🥲

Very relaxing and beautiful video Kiko.
The flowers are looking lovely. Though a shame about the one where the head fell off. The dried flowers are a lovely touch to use in your journal. I also add them to happy mail. The little crochet flowers are stunning and the end piece of art very beautiful. I am doing some card making this month Kiko so enjoying something a little different. I enjoy dipping in and out of my various crafts as and when the mood takes me. We have had some sunny and warm weather here recently. Though today cooler and over cast. I hope you have a good time until we next meet on your video. Unit then thank you and take care. :)

I think its a great thing to switch it up and do different kinds of crafts. I also do that depending on my mood. 😊 Card making sounds fun! Although its summer already, there are days when it certainly doesn't feel like it. I'm still wearing my sweater around the house sometimes! Thank you for watching as always! Happy crafting! ❤️

Your flower picture is absolutely lovely! I crochet but not that small and now I thinking of giving it a try. Your garden is also beautiful as well and lovely to see all the different flowers you have.

Oh my goodness you are truly a talented person! How beautiful and I can't imagine how long this took. I would love to try this but I think I'd have to do full size first to get the hang of the pattern. You must do pressed flower art as well with all of those beautiful pressed flowers 🩵

I love this so much, that Etsy is the only place where i could find it and ordered it. I got it, but I’m still trying to figure it out how to do it, since I’m familiarizing with the picture signs. Thanks you for bringing joy. I look forward to all of your videos and I loved the explanation on your name “sabi” on the latest video
