I've had this for some years and never really used it. But now that I live in a more "quaint" residence now due to school and share kitchen space with far more people, I use it several times a week. Have been able to cook a good, healthy meal while I am here. Just made salmon with some leftover rice and broccoli. made some Turkey burgers recently and they were great with the side of peppers, onions and mushrooms. The cooking in this takes some time to learn, but it's been pretty easy to convert.
Does grilled onions great , sausages, chicken was ultra moist , brown but no crunchy skin, toasted sandwich was turned out ok, thats all I've done so far
the real RangeMates/Microhearth had an arm on the lids that allowed the lid to be propped up. Also there are a ton of chinese knock-offs on eBay that look like these ones shown so I am cautious about these.
This product stinks. I tried steak, followed the directions and it looked like I boiled it. All the juices were squeezed out of it and it tasted like a shoe sole.
Old comment, but -- you obviously hadn't seen the reviews on RUclips showing the results of cooking in real time when you wrote this, nor likely grasped the working principle, which intuitively _should_ work when the vessel is designed well. It's neither a microwave cooker nor a steamer; it is an *infrared* grill/oven. The microwave only provides the energy source in place of electricity. And because infrared grilling is a thing, and infrared ovens - with halogen lamps providing the energy source - are very much a thing( even including, i.e., a well received 'as seen on tv' product, the 'New Wave Oven'), we can rightly conclude that there is no reason that an infrared grill/cooker powered by microwaves could not at least work as well as a New Wave Oven or similar or radiant energy grill. So I would say that your dismissal was a *bit* premature.😉

Got one at a yard sale. Was going to give it away. I will try it since you presented it so well. THanks
