I LOVE LOVE the rangemate but.....For some reason the seal for the top is prone to damage...mine just ripped after 5 years. Well I really think it should have lasted longer than that. I know of two others that had the same problem.

heather nicole Preheating is an option but not always necessary. It depends on what you are cooking. I always preheat for steak for instance and sausages. Also if I want to sauté something first.
Hello! It is a microwave safe grill, and supposedly it does more as well. It converts microwaves into infrared waves and therefore doesn't dry out the food. I'm trying it out...we will see just what it can do well.

Hello! My microwave does not have a grill function either. This item allows me to grill in my microwave and works well. Good luck!
