  • This behind the scenes exclusive of the Tallest LEGO Building in the United States. LEGOLAND California unveils The One World Trade Center! Check out the 3d rendering process
As a part of LEGOLAND California official opening of their LEGO New York City Miniland cluster that features an updated version of NYC, LEGOLAND added LEGO versions of the One World Trade Center and 9/11 memorials which include the twin reflecting pools, the grove memorial trees and World Trade Center Transportation Hub. The One World Trade Center is 26 feet tall, made out of 250,000 LEGO bricks and weighs more than 1000 pounds. It took eight Master Model Builders more than 1200 hours to complete the LEGO version of the tallest building in the United States. The LEGO One World Trade Center features a periscope allowing guests to get a bird’s eye view of Miniland USA.

I designed the first version, with Glenn, from Denmark, it did last a while, and last time I was there about 10 years after I left the Company, went to visit with the wife... the translucent bricks had yellowed and it was unsightly... good to see the proper tower now standing there.
