    This is one of the main transition songs from disco into vocal house music. 4 to the floor. The relentless 4 4 beat with a heavy bass and a vocal top paved the way...

    Originally recorded (and co-written) by Eddie Floyd back in 1966. Also recorded by Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, David Bowie, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton among others. The movie "Road House" also featured this song with Jeff Healy and actress Kathleen Wilhoite.

    This song was Amii Stewart's one and only #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also peaked at the #5 spot on the Billboard Disco chart and it peaked at the #6 spot on the Billboard Soul chart as well during the early summer of 1979. A monster of a banger song indeed!!!

    Hi Angela 😊 wonderful reaction to Amii Stewart's Knock On Wood😊👍 This song was all over the radio as we were cruising and listening😊 It sort of has a techno beat... very catchy 😊 On the Boogie Meter I will also give it a four for a great sound and very danceable 😊 Have a great day and bye 😊👍

    simon cowell was a producer to a british singer named sinitta.
    she is amii stewart's niece.

      @lamusiclover2264 5 месяцев назад +1

      And Sinitta's mother is British Singer Miquel Brown, who is famous for 'So Many Men, So Little Time". He didn't produce Sinitta but he was the boss of her record label. Sinitta was produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman, just like Dead or Alive and Divine. He suggested a song to her with a bad title, and he wouldn't let her change it so it cost her sales of that song" GTO" only reaching #34. After that her singles charted much higher.

    • @Soulspinner001
      @Soulspinner001 5 месяцев назад

      @@lamusiclover2264 Actually Sinitta's mum came from Canada. Miquel was convinced by Ian Levine to move over here to further her singing career. Along with Evelyn Thomas, Earlene Bentley, Laura Pallas, to name a few, at the height of the Hi-Nrg boom. Sinitta was born in Seattle, although grew up in the UK after her Mum relocated. Miquel's step sister Amii was also persuaded to move to Europe to further her music career.

    • @lamusiclover2264
      @lamusiclover2264 5 месяцев назад

      @@Soulspinner001 I know all of their music. All the Ian Levine/ Fiachra Trench stuff was very popular in gay clubs in the US. You'd never hear it in the radio or a straight club here, except "So Many Men . "

    This one is ok, and not my favorite! I realize it's a cover, or remake, however you want to call it! She's a beautiful lady and has a great voice, and I don't know if she had other hits! Boogie meter 4!
    That knock sound gives me the creeps because it reminds me of the movie The Fog which came out sometime in the late 1970's I believe! Bye you all!

    I've always thought Amii was far too talented to be just a one-hit wonder. Either drugs got in the way, or she simply refused to sell her soul.
