    Where I live, almost nobody would go out on a day like this... this is hard core paddling...

      Yes it is the same where we live, only a handful of people with enough experience for these conditions! However the tips can still be useful on less feisty days I hope. Thank you for watching.

    I'm still new, but I find going into the wind is not so bad, just because I can see what's coming and brace myself for whatever chaotic waves are attacking me. Turning around and going downwind, I can't see what's coming up behind me and crash instantly. I guess maybe I need to paddle faster or something. For now I just head out standing up, and do the return trip on my knees.

    Hi my friend just brought a SUP and we both had a go on it separately of course and we live in Portsmouth. My friend checked the tide times etc but neither of us was expecting to see rough seas so having two beginners trying to kneel let along stand with crashing waves was abit of a disaster. I told my friend who is not from the area that emsworth opposite hayling would be a good location with shallow water and calm water would be a good starting point. My question is can you safely paddle board in rough seas or best to wait for the water to be calm and how far out can you go. I myself don’t actually like going out of my depth

    After watching this I realized how important to have a leash on your board maybe paddle or floating kind and pfd with whistle.

      Yes absolutely, I have a waist PFD inflatable life jacket, whistle, leash and my mobile phone in a waterproof pouch. The paddle floats too 👍

    Very helpful tips. Just curious, as an experienced paddle boarder, how often do you usually fall off the board in these choppy windy conditions? How thick of a wetsuit do you wear in the winter months, or would you wear a dry suit instead?

    • @coreflowactive
      @coreflowactive  Год назад +1

      Hi I don’t fall off in these conditions on this board but maybe once or twice in an hour on my narrower board (22” wide) UK winter, 4 to 6mm wetsuit depending on the temperature.

    Interesting video, impressed with your upwind progress. I did wonder why you were using such a basic paddle?

    • @coreflowactive
      @coreflowactive  3 года назад +1

      Hello, thank you for your comment. This is a Texcarbon slim shaft with medium flex, full carbon blade, Black Project Hydro 78 paddle. You may have seen I also use a Quickblade V Drive 81 as well which has a little more power especially at the front of the stroke. I choose the Hydro 78 in wind as I can keep a higher cadence too. It delivers a solid catch and and plenty of power for me, I am only 158 cm’s tall 😁

      @@zunezvenzon1748 hi there, yes me too, it is currently my race paddle of choice and is as you say an excellent premium paddle. I think the angle is only about 8 degrees and the dihedral does not show in the video so maybe that's why it maybe looks "basic"? Glad you liked the video. Good luck with the racing

      @@stevecampodonico2665 hello, yes my partner has the One Edge 3 and I have had a couple of goes on it. My RS in that video is 23. His Edge is 24.
