I think you have presented a very clear and comprehensive evaluation of this kit, Katie. Thank you. Agree 100% on all of your points. I think my biggest sticking point is that if you’ve been DP-ing for years and are at an advanced level, not having a paper legend or stickers or symbols on the jars themselves is more of a hassle than it should be. Cross-referencing takes too long between looking at the symbol on the drill field, finding the number on the side of the canvas, then finding that number on your jar. That’s too many steps to be considered “luxury” or advanced. I’ve never worked on a Diamond Dotz kit, but looking at their site I was also disappointed to see that even some of these “Masterclass” kits are only partial-drill kits! Definitely on the fence about them. I can understand the idea of a specific image that is just out of this world, but honestly I think many other companies are providing better quality experiences for a cheaper price point. Just my two cents. ❤
I agree, I use the symbol to find the colour I need so having to use the code to then find out the symbol would be more annoying. The presentation is great but I would never pay that amount of money for the presentation of a kits
When I kit up, I use Avery 6733 color coding dots to put on the cover of the jars and use a marker to copy the symbols. Makes it quick and easy to find the right drill. I also bought a Diamond drill package with labels that have preprinted alphabet and numbers. I put them on the top of my jars and leave them there and reuse for all my projects.
@@kate4121that’s a great idea! I do have some of those labels. And I’ve done the “draw your symbol on a label” thing before too, so I’m used to it. I think my point was just that for being advertised as a “premium “ product, I was maybe expecting a little more of that work done for me already.
I think for that price, the tools should be a leg up from basic tools. Everything else is very nice. In the end, I'm not sure if $230 is quite the price point I would expect.
Same, I love the idea of it, but really for that price, put in a slightly nicer set of trays and one decent fancy pen instead of three standard pens. I think the white one is one of their "ergonomic" pens? Would have been nice for the normal two to be a mid price fancier pen though. Also, for that price I'd really want a more premium canvas. I love their stuff but the texture of their normal squeaky canvases sets my teeth on edge. I'd like a more expensive *feeling* canvas. That said, for a really nice holiday, it'd be a GREAT travel kit! If I was taking a long holiday I'd definitely consider something like this to take with me for the duration.
While the kit looks very nice, I wouldn't spend $230 on it. I don't think I would even spend $150 on it. That is just me, but I do love the design you chose. I would think for a price of $230, they would include a resin pen with metal attachments and not plastic, a bigger boat(s), maybe signature color tweezers, etc. I like how the bottles are kitted up, but I put the symbol on my bottle to go by and not the numeric code. They could have put on brighter stickers on the bottles and left room to add the symbol or just add the symbol to the code. I foresee discounts in the future for these kits as I don't think they will sell a lot as is.
First, this is gorgeous artwork. Second, I would not pay this much for it. I do like Diamond Dotz and have completed several kits from them. Since this is an advanced kit, it needs advanced tools - at least two upgraded trays with one being much larger; nice resin pen that can use multiplacers; and stainless steel tips (single, at least two multiplacer tips and a stainless steel straightener). Actually, at this price, two resin pens. Make it worth the extra price and luxury! The micro-dot pen could be the standard “pink” stylus since it is unique. Kit up is nice, but I would have to add symbol codes and move all containers to a smaller box to use my workspace. It feels like premium packaging for a barely upgraded kit. I am interested in the micro Dotz, but not at this price point.
you only pay for them kitting it up for you plus the extra materials because of this. And honestly I love the kitting up on my WIPs so for me its a big no go :D
When trying to sell a premium experience I feel like the company should've thought a bit more about the details, like offering better tools, a sticker sheet with labels so the painter has the option available, and making the bottom section of the trays loose and also divided in 3 smaller parts. I love the artwork, it's so so so gorgeous, but I don't feel like I would spend the extra money for the “premium” experience they offered 🥰 I'm really happy you did the review, it's really nice and I'm sure it will help them to improve even more so the next masterclass kits will be even better!
Thank you for taking the (monetary) hit for those of us who were intrigued by the masterclass items! I just coincidentally spent $230 this morning on a bi-annual vet appointment (exam, nail clip and blood work), which I consider a very good investment. This item wouldn't fall into that category for me. Love the presentation, but agree with you and other commenters that it’s just not quite luxe enough for the price. Thanks so much for the really informative and well-done video!!
It’s a cool idea but for that price point, a little more flexibility with the storage is a must - like being able to take that bottom row out of the box. I have a process and layout that helps me work faster so having to break from that storage layout would be a pain and would definitely impact my feelings about the kit as a whole
Thank you for sharing, Katie. I am with you 100%. Had they asked an actual diamond painter, the first thing out of most of our mouths (in my opinion) would be a better pen, tray and either putty or glue dots. If they would have done any of those things, I may feel completely different about this. They didn't even include stickers/legend or add washi tape or cover minders, LOL. I get that they kit up the diamond painting for you, but 1 hour of kitting up, doesn't equal a $230 price tag. The drills - they could have included something similar to a 'suitcase' style case for their bottles, I think that would have made a ton of people happy (not for me personally) but anything would have been better than what they offered. At this point you have a huge box that you are supposed to diamond paint from. I don't see that making anyone happy. Even if you did pull the 'case' from the bottom of the box, who has that much room to lay out their drills? All of that said - I am going to say - not worth it! It is a beautiful painting though!
Thanks for trying it and sharing! I agree, it is ridiculously expensive but, it is just so cool and fancy! It’s about the same price as three “regular” high quality licensed kits. Most of us have large stashes, maybe more than we will do! I just tend to buy faster than I can paint. That said, I really don’t need any more kits but rather than buy a few kind of regular kits, one of these would move straight to the front of my list of kits to start. I really love The Kiss and the review of that one did not disappoint! Opening and working on a kit like this would just be so self-indulgent and fun.
I'm so glad that you got one of these, and the art I wanted the most as well! I decided that for me it was not worth the price. The toolkit was a glaring fault in this as well as there being no cover minder or cover paper considering how large it is. It's a reasonable start of an idea, but it still needs work.
I think this would be a great birthday present kit - probably wouldn't get more than one. Love the fact that it's all kitted up and i definitely want to try the mini drills! Would love if they improved the tools but not a deal breaker.
I just purchased the Girl With The Pearl Earring, I do love Diamond Dotz I find they have much less static where the drills are concerned, way less than other companies I also purchase from.
that is the only reason I would buy one of these, is because I want that painting. I don't think any of the other quality companies are doing that one??
I think it’s a beautiful piece of art. I love the way the drills were already in containers. I love all the tools.I could not see myself paying $230. I bought Diamond Art Club & they’re expensive.!They’re beautiful pieces of art as well. However with a bogo 50% I was able to buy two DAC paintings. I could not in clear conscience pay $230. I think it’s wonderful you did it. I love your channel. Thank you 😊
I 100% agree with your points concerning this kit. It is a beautiful presentation however for the price point definitely premium tools should be included.
This is my first time seeing a Diamond Dotz canvas/kit and I agree with several others that although it looks nice, I definitely wouldn’t spend that much money for it. What I see is a lot of unnecessary stuff in the kit raising the cost of the kit which they pass on to the customers. The majority of us who diamond paint, already have diamond storage so having to pay for pre-kitted diamonds is a waste. I could only see that being useful for someone who just wants to do one and move on to another craft rather than invest in their own storage kits which are readily available and affordable on Amazon, Temu, etc.
I agree the presentation is very nice. My biggest disappointment are the tools. Instead of 3 single placers they should have included 45° and a 90° tip. Larger trays as well. I do like the inclusion of the dust bag and the care that went in to rolling the canvas around the foam to keep it from creasing. Let’s see if they take feedback and maybe “tweak” the next iteration of their Masterclass lineup. 🌴☀️🌴
I feel like they tried too hard or went too far with this series, which I'm bummed to say. I would be interested if there were an option to buy these without the kit-up service and the whole nine yards. I mean, once you finish the painting, the rest is basically trash. Of course the containers would be nice to keep, but all in all, the cost is just too high. I do really love DD rounds and I've gladly finished several canvases by them. I definitely think these will look great finished and I love the mini-dots, which I've been waiting for for a long time! I just hope next time they tone it down a bit. :D I'll definitely be interested in seeing in what you think of this as a WIP and a finish!
That will be so pretty. I do 99 percent of my diamond painting outside of my home and travel with my kits daily so i think for me that box is really cool for someone who travels with their kits. The box could be used to kit up future projects for the purpose of traveling with it
I agree with everyone about the less than "upgraded" tools. At the price point they are selling these, they should have upgraded the tools as well. I bought the one with the flowers and butterfly as a Christmas gift to myself. Excited to try the mini-dots as I have never tried those before. Hopefully Diamond Dots is watching all these review videos and are taking notes for future Master Class Kits.
The price point is way too high personally, the tool kit is basic, the labeling of the jars not good, the painting you picked is pretty but I won’t be going to this site. Thanks for the review, great job as usual Katie ♥️
I have one of these. And the bottle holder in the bottom comes out. I say even if it’s glued in, pull it out to make working it easier. I agree about the symbol list. I haven’t started mine…..yet!!! LOL
I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment. A kit at this price point would need upgraded pens and tool kit. For this price, I would really have to be in love with the art in order to purchase it.
I love your unboxing videos and your honesty. I would love to try a master class kit and agree with you about the tools. An upgrade would have sealed the deal for me. Thank you for the very thorough walk thru 👍
I get the kit up but we all have enough pink pens and teeny trays to make an iron throne. They could’ve talked to actual diamond painters or even collabed with small businesses that make those upgraded tools. Very meh for the price but I do think that canvas is rendered well and will look nice!
I saw at least one of these kits in their Amazon store. I don’t know I think it would have to be an image that really stood out for me to get one. The presentation is nice but as you pointed out the tool kit doesn’t match the luxury price and the bottom row being glued into the box is frustrating. I don’t know if attempting to rip it off of the glue would work or if the foam or box would be too damaged. The flower shaped gems are cute and I’m sure this will be pretty once finished. I think if they gave us one nice pen instead of three very similar pens and a nicer tray that would be great.
I totally agree with your assessment of this kit. The presentation is very nice, but the tool kit is lacking. I expected an upgraded canvas material also. I love Diamond Dotz drills, but their canvas material not so much. Thx for showing this to us.
It's very pricey and at that price I agree with all that said sticker sheet, better trays and tools. I like diamond dotz regular kits but always have to make sure they're full drills. For me right now it's a no unless I had the money. Thanks for the video.
Hi Katie I think the picture is beautiful but I agree with what you said about tools and not being able to remove the bottom compartment. For me I feel that the price point is too much. Plus I'm in Canada😅
I love the canvas bag and the overall presentation. Most of the cost likely comes from the pre-kitting of the kit, but as others have said, for such a premium price, I would expect at least one of those pens to be a premium pen, the multiplacers to be thin ones, and the trays to be more than the standard kit trays. I am really super intrigued by the idea of the mini drills and how they'll look against the standard-size drills but it would really have to be a piece of artwork that I can't refuse and even then, I'm just not sure the price point is justified.
I am definitely intrigued by these kits, and likely will try one, but the price point was a bit of a shock for what it offers. I agree the tool kit is lacking a bit; I would expect to see some nicer , resin pens, maybe stainless steel tips, and definitely a way to section off the canvas, like some washi tape or perforated film like our beloved DAC offers ❤ I also agree about the stickers with pictures of the symbols, that would have been really nice.
Hey Katie! Thank you for your review- I saw these kits sold as a "master class" and I was so curious! For me, the tool kit would not work and I do not see the value for the price point. I love the idea of harder kits and I hope other companies follow.
I was eyeing this kit for a couple of days and thank you for this unboxing it's a no for me😢 at this price point I would expect more ABs, crystals, metallics, and sticker sheet for sure. And upgraded tool kit. Those are not even thin plastic multiplacers... Nope
Sure presentation makes me want it but agree with you I think it would be awkward to paint from. Definitely needs upgraded advanced diamond painter tools and for a person on fixed income that's definitely out of my price range as I have custom pens larger trays to multiple place so even though the addiction is real 😂the pocket book says no way 😊 love the picture you choose ❤
Really love the image but regular dotters already have the basic tool kit which is included. I would love just the canvas kit without the fancy packaging
You did a great job reviewing this kit and giving your honest opinion. I’m not advanced enough to justify spending that much on a kit at this time. However maybe in the future when I have the skills.
i just looked at the entire product line of these "premium" kits and its funny the only one i liked and would actually do also happens to be the cheapest of them all lol. roses and hummingbird by russ docken 40x50 cm $120. its absolutely gorgeous 😍
I love the picture, but feel like they should have used the micro dots in the face of the Pegasus. Without that being included, I don’t feel that this price point is reasonable at all. I would not use any of the tools because they are basic, and would want to change the kit up. It appears it’s hard to read the numbers on the jars, and that box with just take up too much room on my table. If you work on it, I would love to see updates!
If it were any company other than diamond dotz...I might be interested. I just don't feel like their kits are in a luxury status. I also agree with you on issues with the tool kit. They definitely could have included a bigger tray and pen, especially for the price you paid. This just feels like a bigger diamond dotz kit instead of a special experience.
I think an agree with you that I would expect a bit more in the tool area, like a step up. I think the only thing extra was that the drills were in containers already. But I’m not sure I’m sold on the numbering lid concept. The picture is for sure beautiful, but that price, not so much.
I think what’s craziest to me, beside the lack of upgraded tools and lack of labeling stickers, is the fact that the basic pen doesn’t even have a matching squishy 😂 They’re selling a luxe kit with a pen that looks like I grabbed out of my random extra tool ziploc bag and stuck a random squishy on and random pen lol 😅 And no washi tape or anything is a big no from me at that price point
I love the concept but the basic toolkit and the lack of sticker sheet for this price point is wild to me! Not having a sticker sheet just feels outdated, like when you see companies that haven't converted to poured glue basically I would price the kit (with the special drills) at around $85 maybe, i would give $50 for it being kit up for you (probably less being a big company), $5ish for the tool kit. That should be around $150... the rest is just packaging which is crazy to me because it isn't super functional. I feel like they need to rework this. It could be an awesome collectors piece if they did it right and could totally be worth the money but it was a swing and a miss this time
Question….Did the border around the painting eliminate the need for me a WASHI border? If there is glue around the edge then the need for a WASHI border hides the Legend. I do not like having to refer to the Legend to find the symbol…too much back and forth and room for mistakes. IMO they eliminated the need to kit up but replaced it with looking at the Legend. I agreed with your opinions about this kit, especially about the tool kit… HELLOOOOO DD, MASTERCLASS. The tray was basic and should have been bigger for an Advanced Diamond Painter and for a painting that large. Additionally if they were going to include 2 why not make them stackable? And there were no stoppers either. Placers were included but were not upgraded to skinny placers and no way to put them on the “shiny” pen. A putty would have been nice instead of two basic waxes. Finally and most importantly to me, to purchase a MASTERCLASS and have no information about the ARTIST and the PAINTING???? Just a basic insert…DD is not paying attention to Diamond Painters and/or Summer with the Masters. If I were a traveling Diamond Painter, maybe, but it is a pass for me.
Girlllll I was thinking the same thing and actually made the comment on another channel: for the money being charged, that could have at least provided fancy pens and trays. While the art is certainly beautiful, in my opinion, it's not 230 dollars beautiful 😅
I definitely want to get one. There are a couple of ways to bring the price down and this is their largest canvas. The one I want is smaller and features microdots, which are about the quarter of the size of regular drills. If you think about it, of course you need a different type of pen for them. The other thing to think about is that you are getting the containers with them, already kitted up. You are paying for that service. I like that they come in a deluxe, reuseable box. Partial here is not what you are thinking and is not where the background is printed and only the body needs to be filled in. For me, it is all about the microdots and how they are a gamechanger.
It’s a cool concept, but for the price there should be some better quality items. The trays and pens should definitely be way better quality and metal multi placers should have been included. The box itself looks extremely bulky and I for one would not be able to work with something like that. I have a very small space that I diamond paint in and I’d never be able to fit a box like that near me to be getting the jars. I don’t use the legend when I diamond paint so that is another thing I don’t like about this. The artwork is beautiful, but I don’t think the price point is justified by what’s in the box. Personally I love kitting up a project, it’s very relaxing to me. Thanks for showing this Katie!! Like I said, I think it’s a cool concept, just doesn’t seem to be a justified price point though.
I think the bottom should have been broken into 3 removable trays like the top. So total you'd have 6 movable trays. depending on your table size. Having that huge box to move around could be cumbersome and in the way. Having 6 smaller removable trays that you can stack or shift would be so much easier and make more sence. I wouldn't want to have to keep that huge box. I'd rather just have the little tray sets.
Hi Katie I bought The Kiss by Klimt master class so I could try the mini dots. A bit pricey and I really love the image that you showed, but I have Woman In Gold so I wanted to try The Kiss. I did get 15% off and am excited to try it. As always thanks for your review. You are my favorite❤️
I think the bottom portion could have been removable like the upper ones, so that you can set those on a workspace easier than the longer boxes. Definitely would want a sticker legend because the number labels on the containers are hard to read until you angled it & you’d still need the side legend to get the symbol/number. It’s out of my price range but not a system of kitting up that I’d want. Pretty artwork though.
I love the picture but I wouldn't buy the kit. The deal breaker for me is not being able to remove the bottom layer of drills from the box. There is no way it would work with my workspace. If the bottom layer was a series of smaller trays that I could stack if desired, then it could be considered a splurge for a special picture. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you for posting. Your review is the second master kit review I've seen now. After watching both--I can pretty confidently say that I could not justify buying one of these kits. As you stated, I could not use a multiplacer with their supplied tools. The tray is very small. There is no sticker or reference sheet that I can reference for the drills. At the "master" level, for $230, we all already have some version of the basic level tools that they are supplying. (Probably dozens.) I don't necessarily need "NEW!" products included with kits to make them unique--quite the opposite, as it can drive up production costs, but the inclusion of a decent 2-sided pen, maybe a metal 4-placer and a larger tray with a lid would have been much better inclusions to these kits that many avid diamond painters would actually use. I'd also like to note that your kit also doesn't seem as bad, but the other kit was EXTREMELY staticky. If this is the super deluxe kit, why not include an anti-static (aka dryer) sheet in the box? It costs maybe 1-2 pennies for the company, but the QOL experience on the customer side is huge.
This seems kind of good for a beginner-to-large-kits. As in, someone who hasn’t purchased all these extra accessories like kitting supplies or large trays. They can pretty much start as soon as they get it, and it has a nice way to store everything. The kitting is definitely worth some money, but if it’s done in a way that doesn’t let you work how you’re most comfortable, then it’s not as good.
I totally agree with your thoughts. I think this is a fun fancy gift idea for people to buy those in their life that enjoy diamond paintings. For the price i would hope for better tools. Also it’s a small thing but the symbols are not printed on the containers?? So I have to check the legend every time?? It also seems a bit wasteful to me because when you’re done you’re just gonna toss the containers out? It’s not like you’d really want to reuse the box. However, it’s cool to see companies getting more innovative and trying something new and I love all the different drills!
Second video from this class, only thing I can think of is maybe for a gift for someone who would be interested in doing a diamond painting. They wouldn't have the containers, the tools, the kitting knowledge with labels, we're just spoiled, not picky! 😂 (It's a no for me personally.)
It looks nice, but I don’t feel like it’d be worth the $230. I agree, for that price it should have an upgraded toolkit at the very least. And I enjoy kitting up, so I probably wouldn’t get it just based on that.
thank you for showing this.... For the price and to be labeled Advanced ....the tools should be a lot nicer than a basic tool kit...Too $$$ for what is offered ...they basically presented it to you in a fancy way..justifying their high price... I'm not sold on it...
If it was a DAC,Craftibly or Dreamer I would purchase because I know I would enjoy the Canvas. Personally I don’t care for the Diamond dotz Canvas. I think they could have just included a case instead of that box at that price!
imho This is nice but it could be better. It's like they don't actually diamond paint themselves, or listen to feedback of seasoned painters. I'll be honest, I don't see the appeal, especially at that price-point. Thank you for doing the research.
Thanks for reviewing this kit, I agree with you and the many great points already mentioned in the previous comments.. In addition, I personally enjoy the ' kitting up ' process for each new project and for most of us who have been working on diamond painting for a while, we have all the tools, supplies and ' know how' to do this to suit our own personal tastes and needs. I believe this is an overpriced attempt to unfortunately exploit this popular ' market' ?.. If money is no issue by all means, this is like the ' designer bag' of kits but realistically it offers nothing more than an ' idea' of a deluxe' experience?... Whilst even the image is beautiful it does not justify the expense because unless we start getting gold plated metal placers, Swarovski crystal resins etc... 😁☺️...... A resin drill will always be just a reain drill and the actual ' magic' comes once we get to work on that canvas !? 😉😻
Nice kit, and I might consider it at half the price. I really think the tool kit needs a serious upgrade, and why not have all larger bottles? I like DD, but think I’ll stick to their regular kits/canvases. 😁❤️👍🏻
Ooh yay good choice on the art! I just started my own diamond painting channel. I gave you a shoutout in my last video, sending viewers over to watch your how-to video😊
Thank you for your honest review of this product! It has helped me decide not to consider it. BTW, If you ever get a chance to review Painter Box Diamond Kits, I would be so ever grateful!!! They look beautiful but the only videos I can see online seem to be in a foreign language. German I think and I only speak English.
I did a larger diamond Dotz canvas for my niece last year. I did not like the canvas or the drills compared to DAC. It came out fine, but I did substitute drills to dress up the canvas. I really didn’t like the polyester canvas. To be a master class kit, and to pay that kind of money I would expect an soft back canvas similar to DAC or Craftibly. I would expect premium drills. I wasn’t impressed with the “special flower drills. They were a plain plowed, no facets, or carving. They looked like them came out of a 5 year olds craft box. The tool kit for me would get chucked in the garbage. At the very least they’re should have been the skinny plastic multiplacers. No one uses the old fat plastic multiplacers. Plus at this price there should have been a label sheet. They don’t want to provide a premium pen , fine I have plenty. But those trays, no plug , no cover and on a canvas this size needed to be bigger. The only nice part of the tool kit was the 2 tweezers. I love the slant tweezers they give more control. The bottom row should have been in in sections and removable. Not everyone has a humongous table top for that box to be sitting on. I would have emptied those drills into my Elizabeth Warden trays. I have an ArtDot 4 draw 192 tall bottle storage organizer sitting doing nothing because the Elizabeth Warden containers are my sweet spot. So for me having it kitted up is no big deal . Although pouring from the bottles into EW would be easier and faster. The big thing is the label pre-cut stickers. A kit without them is not premium let alone masterclass… it’s Amazon level kits. I don’t want to be searching for color numbers. I want to see 1-35 or how many colors it is and grab the number in order. I never use the dmc unless I’m substituting an an. I want the number and the symbol. I wouldn’t buy any of the master kits even if I liked the artwork. I don’t care about a fancy box, it won’t make it easier to diamond paint, especially since it would have to sit on my drafting table which means it would have to be flat instead of angled. From the way I see it , the made a fancy box, did nothing to upgrade their canvas, don’t know if they even upgraded their drill, the special drills I saw didn’t impress, I’ve seen better in $10 Amazon kits. , plus they kitted up in cheap round bottles. I don’t see how the price can be justified. When I saw the box and saw it was Diamond Dotz I immediately thought I hope they improved the canvas. Extremely disappointed… they dropped the ball. They had an opportunity to really impress but they did nothing to improve but make a fancy box and fill bottles.
Thank you for frank evaluation. I am in Australia, and with delivery charges and currency exchange rates this kit would come up close to $350-360. Australian dollars! Plus the shipping cost if they even ship outside US. Definitely outside my price range -, the most that I have spent on diamond painting was around US $80 for a 90 x 120 centimetres ( approximately 36x47") custom from Ever Moment, which includes delivery. In a way, this kit is like a strappy designer stiletto shoes- pretty to look at when they sit on the shelves, outrageously expensive , but soles are very thin and they make my feet hurt just by looking at them. A definite no for me. Also, I am curious about mini drills and how they will work with regular trays. The ridges on the standard trays are distant to accommodate standard size drills. How will the minies line-up? If someone worked with them could you please share your experience.
I dont really think its worth $230. I can see pricing it a little higher than a standard for it being kitted up and for all the tools being there but not by as much as they have it for. The tools could also be a little bit more upgraded. I really hope you like this and are satisfied with the outcome because that is alot of money for what you get. Great video and I really appreciate how honest you are!
I think the idea is cool, but I wouldn’t pay for that. I also think the tool kit needs to be upgraded for that price and i like to have my drills available easier. I can see how this would be nice for those who hate kitting up/down though!! It’ll be interesting to see if other brands try this.
Maybe next time to make it more worth the price Diamond Dotz could collaborate with small shops that do dp tools. I would love to see that. Big companies collaborating with small ones.
I think the kit looks cool but I just can't justify that price point. I know myself, with this kit I would end up using all my own tools, and then all the tubes with the drills would be out on my desk instead of back in the box 😅 the micro dots sound interesting though!
one of the pens are for mini dots i think it was the generic looking pen. iv looked at them and i loved this one and the humming bird one that did have the mini dots . is there room to put a bigger tray in with it if you want to? but ya to pricey. i think the only thing new in the kit is the mini drill pen
Thanks for the review. After seeing both yours and Lindsay’s videos I don’t think I’ll be buying one. I think most of the cost of these kits is in presentation. I wouldn’t use anything in the toolkit. Even having the drills kitted up wouldn’t be an incentive as I prefer the stickers with the symbol. But mostly they don’t use the DMC and I store my leftover drills. I’d have to find the conversion chart and look each one up just to kit down. If I did a lot of DD kits I could just store them as is but I don’t. I really don’t care for their canvas material.
I think the price point is ridiculous!! I could get several better quality paintings from another company. The pens included were not adequate. I would rather kit up my own drills and arrange the way I prefer. I saw a review where the mini dots were used for the skin tones. The packaging is very nice, I will pass on this one! Thank you for the review!
Hallo.
For me It wouldn't be worth it. feels like your paying for a very expensive packaging box. the toolkit is the biggest let down by far. I agree a bigger tray should have been in there. I did like that their new 'The kiss' luxury kit has been changed from the original and is no longer a partial, you drill the faces now. but I would still get the older partial version render just because of the price.
In addition, the numbers are way too transparent, making it more time to actually see the numbers
Agreed. Having nicer looking pens with metal tips would've been better.
Right if they would've included 2 resin pens in there and a large tray with a lid. Or the heart trays that nest would be good too.
I agree with everything you said. In addition, I absolutely love the process of kitting up so half the fun would be gone for me. 😊
@@elnoralouisa1 no I don't think so I love the one I bought can't wait to get it
I think it’s a beautiful piece of art.
This is the image that I would get if I could! I gasped as soon as I saw it!!! On the wish list it goes, and I'm totally not green with envy at all 😂🥰
I get the kit up but we all have enough pink pens and teeny trays to make an iron throne. They could’ve talked to actual diamond painters or even collabed with small businesses that make those upgraded tools. Very meh for the price but I do think that canvas is rendered well and will look nice!
Hooray! Thanks Katie! Been waiting for you on this ❤🎉
I saw at least one of these kits in their Amazon store.
Gorgeous pai ting! Love her artwork...but this is Way outta my price range....can't wait to see it when you finish
I just started watching and I’m so excited to see it . This is the one I adored when I saw it on the website ❤❤❤
So many people LOVED to hear SEMSELF TALK !
I was disappointed to not see stickers or a fancy pen/tray, in typical Diamond Dotz kits. Love their drills!
I was eyeing this kit for a couple of days and thank you for this unboxing it's a no for me😢 at this price point I would expect more ABs, crystals, metallics, and sticker sheet for sure. And upgraded tool kit. Those are not even thin plastic multiplacers...
Nope
I enjoy the kitting it out part. I would kit it back into my normal process
It could be an awesome collectors piece if they did it right and could totally be worth the money but it was a swing and a miss this time
ngl, for $230 I'd at least want thinner multiplacers 😂
I’d expect thin metal multiplacers 🤭
Regardless of the tool kit, it is really nice and I do plan on getting it 🎉
Hi Katie
I bought The Kiss by Klimt master class so I could try the mini dots.
Did you complete this yet? Would love to see finished
I want to buy The Girl With the Pearl Earring and I was curious what made her cost $150. Thanks for the review!
When will you be showing the finished product?
I like the way it looks but not the way it would work. Thanks for showing and taking a look. It’s a no for me right now. 💎💖
I have two of her kits from Diamond Art Club Sliver Ghost 2 & Blue Rose
Cool video. I remember when I got the email and saw the price tag I just scrolled on by. Hope you work on it so we can see it completed at some point.
Hi Katie, good morning from Los Angeles County.
Beautiful canvas. Pegasus is my favorite myth animal. But way out of my price range.
For me, its not worth it. I want a bigger tray, special pen and the bottom set pf drills to be removable for that price! Thanks for sharing Katie!
I purchased the Klimt Kiss. I am waiting for delivery
Have you used blue tac on your diamond paintings?
I wonder how well those flower drills will stick
Putting the diamonds into the containers is half the fun 😩
Do they make pens that are refillable and automatic? That would be a great invention!
Very well done! You explained perfectly. Not worth the money for me. I'm very fussy with setup. Thank you!
I think u should have gotten a suitcase carrying kit for the tools that separate from the kit like we buy or something like that maybe idk
Hallo.
Is that $230 USD?! If so, it's definitely not worth it to me!
Price nuts
For me It wouldn't be worth it. feels like your paying for a very expensive packaging box. the toolkit is the biggest let down by far. I agree a bigger tray should have been in there. I did like that their new 'The kiss' luxury kit has been changed from the original and is no longer a partial, you drill the faces now. but I would still get the older partial version render just because of the price.
I think it’s a great idea but I’m like you, I like to kit up certain ways and use certain tools etc, so not for me.
I wouldn’t pay that much when most of what makes it “fancy” goes in the trash afterwards, and the tools are Amazon quality.
