  • Surprise financial billing can show up in your name or on your property. Judgment liens are ordered through the courts, but a man in South Euclid said they had the wrong guy.

The original law firm should be sued for harrassment.

Why he didn't sue the attorney who wrongly filed a judgment against him and wouldn't clear it up is beyond me. He's too nice of a guy. I am so glad he got it cleared up, but clearly someone in the attorney's office was negligent and this should have never happened. When my husband and I bought our first house, there was a guy with a similar name, but different middle initial who took out a bunch of loans and never paid them back. My husband just had to sign a legal document saying he wasn't the other guy and we were done with it.

He’s not too nice, he’s just trying to live his life, taking care of an issue and moving on.
Not everyone is out for blood or vengeance, counter what some may belief.

Is there no consequences for the attorney who attached the lien to the wrong person? At the very least he damaged his original client who will never get paid by the wrong guy. Shouldn’t this innocent guy have recourse against the incompetent attorney for his time and damage to his reputation.

Why does it take a news station to clear up something that any honest company could have done if they wanted to? Because the law firm that made the lean wanted to stick it to whom ever they could to get their fee~! Shalom

And the 2 attorneys didn't know what to do? Just a phone call?

I have had problems with someone using my phone number and had some medical treatment. They gave them my phone number, and I started getting calls from these treatment hospitals. The place wasn't in my state. Bills were for some other guy, not my name. I called and told them stop don't worry, they would correct. They would hand to collecting agencies and start over again. This went on for a year, and finally, after blocked their number stoped. Then another Medical facilitie started calling me again from out of state and not my name. I probably got over 30 calls. You can't get this fixed by phone.

Similar thing happened with my wife. We went to sell our house and the title company said she owed over $10,000 in judgments. She has a common name and it clearly wasn’t her. It eventually got resolved.

Guy's attorney: sorry we don't know how to resolve this problem (after 1 year of 'working' on it)
TV guy: pick up phone, dial, talk, resolved.
maybe his original attorney can just join the news station and learn

That's pure bs. That's not due process. Whoever put that on his house without first checking if it's the right guy or not needs to be sued.

I have a unique last name, but my brother is a deadbeat. Me and my adult children have been harassed for years by collection agencies. My son almost had his car towed by a company attempting to repossess my brother's car.

This country is a mess! I would sue all parties involved for fraud and punitive damages. I'd even sue the county and county employees that recorded this lien.

He paid lawyers to get this solved...one was on this case for a year (according to Paul), and they got nowhere. You guys make a few phone calls and....VIOLA!....problem solved? Either Paul was not accurate about how much time he spent and how his lawyers was on this for a year....OR......Paul was taken to the cleaners by the lawyers he hired. Fortunately for him, the people who gave him the runaround did not want to be on the evening news as bad actors, thus problem solved......quickly.
