Yes, it does help! I never could quite get TMS to work correctly when I needed. Did the training several times, just couldn't get it reliable. Maybe I was not waiting long enough for the system to build in the targets. It looks so easy but it never really was when I was in actual combat.
Yeah ive been doing dcs for a couple weeks now. Can remember the startup perfectly. But when it comes to all the weapons and radar functions the training is absolutely abysmal at explaining them

@@rafaxd8805as long as they are in range and your radar can pick them up, they will be yellow squares until the radar systems go through their processes of IFF and fully designating the target

TMS right is what I was forgetting to do. I was trying to lock the target like RWS mode. This is why I appreciate your videos. You rock 🎸
This video explains why the Phantom and the Tomcat had a RIO/WSO because this is a lot for one person to do while trying to fly the plane and (presumably) trying to evade missiles from the other guys.

hornet pilots can also just switch between targets in TWS with the NWS button. The F-16 and Hornet behave rather similarly in this instance.

Oh my gosh thank you I have been trying to figure out to do this. Every video I watch is them explaining how it radar works (which I already know) and then they say do this do that WITHOUT telling me what buttons to press to get there. You just did that in 60 secs
Ah that makes way more sense, I wish their training mission went of it instead of that datalink lesson I couldn’t get to work right and ended up taking out everything myself (with guns since they take away all but two missiles)
Thanks for these videos. My xbox series x just died a year and a half after my wife got it for me for Christmas. Best buy failed to put it under Total Tech coverage so its a brick. Now im getting a gaming pc for my birthday and i want to play DCS and these videos are getting me up to speed before i even get the tower.

It's easy with your hotas commands.
Flip the switch to AA mode on hotas, TMS hold right, goes to TWS. Then do the rest as he explained, target each
It doesn't need to be a triangle, it just needs to be solid. If you don't have DL available everything will be a square.

RWS SAM is actually better for tracking multiple targets and works at better range. I used to be a tws guy as well but recently RWS has been much more reliable

I use amraams and its the first time I hear about this altitude thing 😅 I only look at "red traingles" when theyre red and then I shoot xD

Too bad the triangles are never solid red because the radar on the F16 seems to only track at 35 miles but by the time you get a track you're dead from fox 3s
Core game DCS doesn't use AESA radars and DCS seems to buff Russian and Chinese radars for some reason

Its weird how in f16 you don't have to press on the target like the f18. On f18 you need to click on the target to soft lock it.

Can you do an F-35A with 50% fuel vs an F-16 with 100% fuel in a dogfight video? Irl the F-35 is designed to carry an insane amount of fuel so it doesn't need to use external tanks. 50% fuel is the same amount of fuel as 100% in the F-16. Irl the F-35 is a better dogfighter as well, I just wanna see how close the mod gets

It should be in the description. Just note, that older one, TWS worked differently then. This short is more accurate to the way it works now. ONLY for TWS. The old one is accurate for RWS procedure.
I almost forgot what TWS meant and it means "Track While Scan" which allows guidance per missile tile pitbull to track their targets without having to have the targets perma locked ? or am I wrong

For me it doesn't work. There are no yellow and red triangles, only white boxes. Is there something that is missing?
If you only have white boxes then you don't have an AWACS in the area. Still the same procedure, just tms up on what you want and it'll become a larger bolder white box.

This is an example of if you have an AWACS. If you don't have an AWACS in the air, you won't get "red" tracks. They'll be white. Then they'll turn solid white.
