Honestly I have mad respect for the Imperial Officer that voiced his displeasure at how loyal Clone troopers were going to be "volunteered" for experimentation, and I just want anyone who calls them "property' should eat a blaster bolt. I hope nothing happens to that guy as he is one of the good ones.
I thought it was Wulff Yularen at first. Good to know other officers saw value in clones.
That was admiral Coburn, he was in clone wars, serving with the Wolfpack
Yeah I liked that also though it did seem he was more worried about how the senate would react if word came out about the experiments on the clones. Although that could just be him throwing out a last ditch reason for the empire to rethink the decommissioning of the clone troopers.
@@rippera45That was my thought too. I was thinking that Yuleran was present at that meeting.
He will likely be killed made to retire or be reassigned to some menial task
The biggest mistake of Tarkin’s was not taking out all of the aquatic sentient species. Mon Calamari and others helped overthrow the empire. Really his is a cautionary tale. Humanity first.
Hmmm… that seems fishy
While not Star Wars, Resident Evil 4 gives us a valuable lesson for something like this.
Careful when you’re hitting the sea. You may attract something big that’ll probably end you.
First?
More like humanity only. There can be no others.
@@Nomad_Druid a man truly like Allen, very xenophobic
@@gmoney4215 it's only xenophobia if they're sapient.
I love that in Stellaris, mass altering the genetic makeup of your empire's species is just something you can do with no repercussions
As long as it's a benefit it's fine expect if it's the brain slug event then they care for some reason
@@azeria1 No one seemed to care about the nerve stapling I did
It's like I've been saying since RoS came out; Palpatine's plan was to gain ultimate control of the galaxy via a legion of superweapons, leave Tarkin and Vader in charge, and go off to Exegol and achieve godhood.
This episode was a full on rollercoaster of emotions for me. I do feel that due to the favored Disney trope of "this is all we found" we will see a certain individual return at some point.
Thrawn
@@davelouie131 I'm guessing he means Tech
That's not a Disney trope, that's a common thing done in many shows
I was thinking something along the lines of cybernetic reanimation. Like they remodel him into a close combat bruiser & redesignate him CT###-### Durasteel or just DT01 and implant a new inhibitor chip. The season premier could see Omega somehow "reawaken" his Tech personality. Whereupon they attempt an Elfen Lied esque escape. Hit on the helmet (via an inhibitor chip damaging sniper shot) on the way out. The episode ending can be left ambiguous as to whether he escaped as Tech the person or Durasteel the weapon.
@@110100111000 It could even be as simple as he hit an outcropping part way down, his goggles slipped off and he "barely survived and dragged himself to safety days later"... if we're going for the typical trope that is.
I personally hope they don't do that and that the Bad Batch end by attrition as one would realistically expect... but perhaps that's just me.
Hey Gen Tech, I just want to say I am a huge fan of this channel and have been for years. I think what you do is awesome and I am excited not only for new content from Star Wars but the content you and several other RUclips make about it.Keep it up and cheers!
the idea of the Empire playing around with Gene Traits is really reminding me of how the player in Stellaris can do that if you take the Gene Modified Perk.
Removing the Negative Trains & Add Positive Trains, which would also lead to Gene Warriors, basically Stellaris version of Master Chef from Halo mix with the Space Marines of 40k.
Master CHEF 😂
I wouldn't put it past Papatine to go full on "space nazi master race," but I'm sure it's mostly that he wanted to be immortal, much as that was kinda what he promised Anakin, a way to cheat death and save Padme. But at the same time he'd never have to worry about being usurped or losing power if he can just spring up again in a fresh new body after death.
Also a side note. A pretty good reason for the emperor wanting to full understand cloning is also likely connected to his future plans of immortality through the cloning of himself. Perhaps while he knows how to clone a basic human, he needs to understand how to clone himself, aka a very powerful force sensitive being. Omega as theorized before could be force sensitive and therefore the key to unlocking this.
Supported by how they were gonna clone Grogu in Mandalorian.
the only other time we ever hear about "molecules" in Star Wars is when they're talking about midicloreans. If they can take an existing non-Force user, or a clone of the emperor and give them gene modification surgery to give them an affinity for the Force, that would be a thing Palpatine would be interested in.
Part of me still thinks, logically since we’ve seen one clone of palpatine and since there were several of them in those tanks, logically some of his cult followers would have dragged one off world before the “final” battle
I think the Doctor’s plan is to genetically modify humans not from birth like the clones, but as full grown adults to develop desired skills. Ex: Crosshairs shooting skills, Hunters senses, Wreckers strength, etc
looking forward to season 3. boy that was a dramatic and rather depressing season finale. I'm hoping to see how Wolffe, Gregor and Rex, team up next season.
Never thought to see the day where Alan makes a mistake. 1:45 Project Stardust NOT Project Starlight
Stardust.
Not "Starlight" (the Death Star Project)
Clan Skirata, where they at? I hope it's one of the Clans, Bo-Katan meets up with if we don't see them next season of Bad Batch
Thanks for all your hard work. i enjoy every video you upload.
That machine seems to be a Mind Flayer.
So, Palpatine's plan is to do what the Federation failed to do in Serenity?
"He meddles..."
yes... but it wouldn't target mature humans. Probably infancy or pre-natal interventions to miranda the population.
They did but too well.
For those who haven't seen firefly or its sequel movie Serenity. The Union of Allied Planets wanting to make a utopia created a bio weapon to make everyone passive. It worked too well. The planet they tested it on had 99.9 percent of the population became soo mellow they died from starvation. The .01 percent that survived went nuts and attacked anything that wasn't one if them which created the boogy men of space the reavers
The Empire destroyed Kamino and all the infrastructure for good cloning, only to hire some random guy (Hemlok) to continue cloning, but he can’t because he’s not as smart as the Kaminoans, so they have to actually use the few Kaminoans they have to help them clone…The Empire is so frikkin stupid🤣
That's why the Empire fell after 24 years(barely a Generation lol)
They based off Nazis, what do you expect
That sort of machine that was used on Crosshair also reminds me of the Mind-Flayer in Mandalorian. It might even be the same technology... and it has the purpose of indoctrinating one.
In rebels, the robots thrawn used for sparring practice were.... prototype dark troopers. Compare them to Gideon's dark troopers at the end of Mando season 2.
luv your humor/personality lolol great discussion 💯
*love not luv
In universe, perhaps he was looking for the opposite of what the clone troopers had. Where instead of growing faster and aging faster, growing slower and aging slower. Including Grogu. Where a lifespan could potentially be quadrupled. Combine with genetics of a species like Yoda who lived around 900 years, that could give an enormously long lifespan. Clone a force sensitive body that could potentially live 3600+ years, and then transfer a consciousness into it. May have been the goal.
It'd be kinda went the Firefly route where they got the population subjected to sedatives but ended up with reavers. It'd be neat if they could work that docile population through modification into a zombie trooper arc.
I just got to put this out there. What if the clone commandos with the grey markings aren't born clone commandos. We know from the legends republic commando novels that towards the end of the clone wars clone commandos were low very low on numbers and started to train regular clones into commandos. What if the grey marks are one that are trained and therefore less in dependant and therefore staying with the empire. Now about Scorch may still be with the empire for one of two reasons he needs some purpose or I think he's trying to find sev, and he thinks that staying with the empire and working his way up the ladder will give more independence and the ability to look at information that may help him and his brother find the one they left behind.
New star wars shows I'd like to see are a clone commando show starting with the training and ending a year after the clone wars. Also a show showing the day to day fight from a regular rebel solider. What do you people think
Honestly the way most of these "Commandos" are acting makes me think they are just standard Clones who were given the commando armour to act as instructors to the TK troopers. This was mentioned in Season 1 of Bad Batch with having Clone Troopers instruct new recruits, so to help show they are different from the rank and file Clones they are given the Commando armour to help them stand out.
Granted this would only apply to experianced clones (that Tarkin didn't have an axe to grind with) would be offered the "oppourtunity".
Yeah that was what I was thinking there either they were the new Tek Troopers that went Above and Beyond in their class in terms of loyalty and then also everything else or Clone Trooper instructors or clones that are more experienced
Yeah that would make sense it's funny that this is a complete 180 from legends where commandos went against the empire and helped the Jedi most of the time
Dr Hemlok make me think of Ivar the Boneless from Vikings (visually and in dictation), TBH.
This whole plotline feels like it's just setting up that big lootbox in Mount Tantiss for Thrawn to find.
Disagree, we know from the sequels that the Empire doesn’t introduce a mass eugenics-like campaign. I believe this all points to engineering elite soldiers like the Dark Troopers and also eventually prolonging Palpatine’s life. Genetic manipulation allows him to engineer an ideal clone body for himself.
Nala Se: He does exactly what I do
Hemlock: But better
Empire Vibe in Disney is just unmatched Andor, Bad Batch (When they aren't doing their own thing), Rebel's(Same as BadBatch) and Rouge one idk just hope Jedi Survivor keeps the wave going. Btw dose Allan or GT do gameplay? If so can't wait.
I just thought they're making the first batch of dark troopers who were originally organic.
Grogu was linked to the plan to clone snoke so palpatine could live on in clones in case of mortal wounds since his current body was in very bad shape
When I watched this episode I got serious "palps is trying to make a master race" vibes....
Not necessarily master race. but a compliant and infinite empire type of deal. Weed out the human traits that he finds problematic.
Starlight? Don't you mean "Stardust".
And Tech is alive! If all they found is the goggles, he's going to comeback at a key point in S3. Either he snuck off wounded or Dr Hemlock has him.
Keep hoping buddy
He is working IT in the sky
He became a Meta Avatar.
No one dies in Star Wars… “He’ll be back”
Keep snorting that copium, dude. Tech's dead and needs to stay that way. The denial is strong with you Techies, I swear.
I'm going for Tech got cyborged into a Dark Trooper.
What about the ZIllo Beasts? Where did they fit into this? Unless Palpatine wanted to do his own Rumbling, I do not know what the Empire can use the Zillo Beasts for like at all.
This was stated in the Clone Wars where the idea for using the impenetrable hide of the Zillo Beasts to develop armour that could tank even the heaviest of firepower.
@@zeratul____1228 It's been a long time ever since I heard of that. Thank you for reminding me! :)
I think originally he wanted to because it resisted lightsabers but in it's bad batch episode they show it grows very quickly when it eats electricity so maybe that would be a useful trait to grow a new clone army or a Snoke or whatever it is he wants
Or perhaps it was intended as a sort of WMD, a terror weapon that had to be launched on rebellious planets, it would've destroyed everything, then it would've died when all the means to feed itself were consumated.
That base does do more than research cloning, after all.
Is the machine used on Crosshair the Empire's "Mind Flayer" that appears in the recent episode of "The Mandalorian"?
I don't think it is, at least not yet. The machine used on Crosshair in the first episode of the Bad Batch, is a Kaminoan medical device. The Mind Flayer, is almost certainly derived from the same machine, but a cruder, nastier version of it designed specifically to cause pain. Its the difference between a stretching machine used to treat chiropractic patients and a wrack
No. It's a device used to interface with the inhibitor chip.
My theory is that the Kaminoans used the device to adjust the power of the inhibitor chip to each clones personality to make order 66 that more effective. Clone force 99 due to their mutations and the fact they went on black ops missions constantly never had time have their chips adjusted outside of default settings in time for order 66.
@@zomfragger they caught on before the enemy knew that they learned.
Regardless of the reasons for why the empire wants cloning technology, “the whole sequel trilogy motive”, the bad batch show and the Mandalorian are giving us hints that’s the empire wanted to perfect cloning technology especially regarding successful acquiring DNA from powerful force sensitive individuals across the galaxy. Im willing to believe that Palpatine wanted to use this technology not to just to resurrect himself if he was ever successful killed, but to maybe create an entire clone army of powerful force sensitives, controlled and blindly obedient to his every word. It would makes sense since we know that force sensitivity is in most cases genetic and can be passed down from parents to offspring.
So, basically he's trying to do with clones what Valkorian did with non-clones that were the Knights of Zakuul...
Those ideals aren't limited to only Conservatives or only Liberals, nor is it likely that people are genetically predisposed to such ideals, per se. We are emotional and primal, with a topping of logic and understanding. We're more in tune with the laws of nature, as they are then applied/foundational to the social civilization we've developed, which then fosters those more advanced ideals.
Fear, being a primal motivator, is successfully used all the time by many governments/leaders (/religions/sales and marketing/etcetera). This happens in both the "free world" and otherwise. It is used to elicit influence and control over the populace.
If you think about it, Palpatine was trying to be a Gould.
10:35, In the end, Palpatine’s interest in genetic manipulation and creating Force-sensitive clone bodies for himself to transfer to is indeed doomed to fail, as Vader kills him long before he got the technology down perfectly, hence him being forced to inhabit a corpse suspended on a crane for two decades. Even if this were used to explain the creation of the artificial Force-sensitive Snoke, it’s all still a relatively fruitless, as Snoke is unceremoniously killed along with Palpatine, and with them, the secret to create Force-sensitive beings.
Despite this, its all a testament to how far Palpatine’s greed and lust for power can go, but how all his efforts to control everything would never be lasting, even after he managed to cheat death itself.
“Is my head really that big?” - Peter Cushing
Maybe turning it into a mass casualties type of weapon or beam that can be used against an entire population, city or planet at a time
I still don't think all clones will be cast aside. Think the loyal and well fit clones still will be armed into new armour and gear and thrown into not only the stormtrooper corp. But also the purge trooper, death trooper and dark trooper initiatives.
And in the end this is all just a temporary solution to what Palpatine REALLY wants to do; Unlock the deepest secrets of the Darkside to give himself the ability to altar reality itself, he basically wants to become a god (a bog part of the reason he tried to enter the World Between Worlds in Rebels), and live forever and control the universe with the power of the Force alone. Projects like this and the Death Star are just useful distractions.
you bring up the isue of mass deplyment od sutch altering tech, but what tehy really coudl use it for is on select targets: leaders who are popular on their homeworld who while may be with teh empire but not a true believer, or even captured rebels, alter them to become imperial and then send them back as a spy. the whole case of only change who you need to change that can infulence others around/under them or identify other rebelious targets and tehy can be eliminated/turned as needed, heck we may have seen this tech (or some form of it) survive as the mind flayer that was used by the empire and then new republic as was seen/brought up in mandolorian
Good idea but not needed. We have had in the last few years been shown that people will let the government give them the "cure" or be belittled, canceled, and more. So getting it out in mass is not a problem.
1:43 wasn't it Stardust?
Thanks again for sharing
I'm surprised Allen didn't comment on the talk about a potential clone uprising. I wonder if that is what Filoni is planning to replace Bad Batch with.
I wish Tech Still alive in Bad Batch Season 3 he is very important that is team he is very specialist skills
Well he's not. Deal with it. This is war and not everyone's going to have a happy ending.
I think genetic alteration in Star Wars is similar to mobile suit gundam seed and it’s ethics issues
Hey man great content really great.
I wanna ask why you don't breakdowns of the episodes of the bad batch, Mando and any other star wars project. We would really enjoy it
Probably because a ton of channels already do that. I personally like the content he does because it is really unique and insightful compared to others
@@jacksonyon5276Agreed
He actually does. Just not in a sensationalizing way like other channels, but in a more comprehensive, philosophical, and deeper analytical understanding of what is actually going on in the episode as it exists in the lore.
I wonder if Tech will end up being up something like a dark trooper from battlefront 2 2005 where he is cyborg it would be dark but who knows

Very interesting theory about modifying behavioral traits period perhaps the empire would hide such a device in plain sight such as a metal detector, Or star wars equivalent blaster scanner 😅

Well, I always thought that what they wanted with Grogu was to give someone force powers. Perhaps even to Gideon.
Cloning plus Force Powers... does this not lead to Snoke?

Has nobody addressed the fact that the Imperial Cloner Baddy name sounds similar to Heinrich Himmler, the architect of the Holocaust? At least it does to me. This guy is doing Star Wars version of experiments on the Clones that Himmler did on the Jews. If memory serves me correctly, the Galactic Empire was supposed to be styled as "Space Nazis". Well, this adds to that!
I was really expecting this video to be an April Fool's joke.
I think personally the clones are being turned into Deathtroopers we still barely know anything about them
Project Starlight was something eles .XD
Do any specie's naturally have force powers without being forced sensitive. Are some species already psychic or have telacanis And throw that in with one them with force powers. Would they have different force powers. .
maybe. Force is weird.

Miranda, the biggest secret in the 'verse...
Isn’t this the same thesis behind 28 Days Later?
Shades of Miranda from Serenity.
Do you think that they are prototyping the mind flayer?
Or he succed, but because it need advanced equipment, it take a time, i can imagine that it was used only on the most usefull planets, probably in the core, to furter ensure that they stay loyal.
Well, RIP Clones.
Killing Tech is as bad as a mistake if Star Trek had of killed Spock. He was and did everything for the team.
My name is Tech, and my allegiance is to Democracy and Clone Force 99.
I'm genuinely worried their going for a halo reach type story where the bad batch falls one by one until only omega remains (if that)
that would be heartbreaking. Omega being alone like that? That would break ANYONE
I’m very different bc I don’t lean too deep on left or right 😂
Replace people like they did in halo
Phase zero dark troopers seems likely.
Oh my god. Hear me out. The empire succeeds in alternating citizens into being more compliant. This succeeds… and we see it in Andor. The will of being human and rebelling wins over the empire.
Bummer :-/

I wonder if Dr. Hemlock is inventing the Mind Flayer.
I couldn’t see Jimmy Simpson doing such a more serious role. Then again his comedy is super dead pan from Always sunny to Lyle the intern on Letterman so I guess saying outrages things in a serious and comical manner would translate to a serious sci fi character. Anyway kinda talking to myself idk.
Tailored eugenic programs are not at all far fetched for the star wars universe they're actually old hat. From the Hapans to the Arkanian Offshoots there have been MANY interested in custom genetic perfection.
WOW!
Why all the label's good bad left right it's confusing but I understand it 😊
Come to think of it might the kaminoans be based on the dutch a tiny civilization, weirdly long people, their way of life threatened by the ocean, good at genetic manipulation(the Dutch with their agricultural technology), willing to make a profit serving both sides.
It's called project star dust no? Not project star light???? Am I wrong?
It might not be about altering the current generation. If the "process" is reported to be beneficial natal treatment...
The return of Crosshair will out weigh the loss of Tech for me personally
