When Ahsoka Tano was framed for the Jedi Temple bombing, it would shatter her belief in the Jedi. Even though she was eventually cleared of any wrong doing, Ahsoka would leave the Jedi Order and her Master Anakin Skywalker. Today we look at what would've happened if Ahsoka stayed in the Jedi Order and how it could've changed the outcome of galactic history.

@@berniethekiwidragon4382, it honestly worked out for Palpatine either way. While he probably initially planned to have Ahsoka found guilty and executed, her refusing to rejoin the Jedi Order basically gave him what he wanted anyway. Palpatine would still have orchestrated events to have Ashoka busy elsewhere on a mission when he revealed himself to Anakin - BTW did Palpatine deliberately set it up so that Windu, who he would have known had a adversarial relationship with Anakin, was the one in charge that day? ("I can take Windu, I'm more powerful than him ....").
So Ashoka wouldn't have stopped Anakin from _'disarming'_ Mace and going along with Order 66. But assuming she survived (under different circumstances) she would team up with Obi-Wan _and she might be able to convince him to turn back to the Light side._
In which case she would be proud of her achievement and be reflective about the future.

While Alan does raise a few valid points in regards to how Ahsoka’s presence could’ve been helpful towards Anakin’s mental health, I personally see two issues in regards to the whole “preventing Anakin from turning” scenario.
First and most of all, there’s Palpatine himself. As mentioned before he had a strong mentor-like relation with Anakin which had been established from at least a decade of knowing each other (and mental grooming for Palpatine to eventually turn Skywalker to the Dark Side) so that bond is not going to be as easy to break. And while Anakin’s trust towards Ahsoka is certainly stronger than most, Palpatine’s a expert in emotional manipulation and could possibly find a way to drive a wedge between the two if necessary. And even if he can’t break their friendship he would still have several months left of the Clone War to organise with Dooku a way to get rid of her for good. It’d be difficult to pull off but still something Sidious would try to accomplish if he had the time (whenever or not it works is another matter).
And the second thing is that as much as Ahsoka is a positive influence on Anakin, there’s also the factor that he can be just as much of a influence upon her as well. While yes she’s certainly much more independent than most Jedi, she still has that high level of trust & faith in Anakin, to the point where she was absolutely certain that Anakin would never become Sith while Maul was trying to warn her that it was part of Sidious’s plan (it was the main reason she rejected allying with Maul the moment he brought it up). And honestly, her leaving the Jedi helped to cement Ahsoka’s independence & ideology, allowing her to evolve as her own person outside of Anakin’s influence. Had she stayed by his side, she might not have been as willing to question Anakin’s more darker actions as the war went on compared to before the temple bombing (considering she’d experience the same portions of the War that jaded Anakin in time).
In regards to the outcome, I think that while Ahsoka certainly would have a chance to halt Anakin’s turn to the Dark Side, it’d only be a temporary motion with Palpatine still in the picture. And when Order 66 is executed, Anakin could possibly try to convince her to join him & Palpatine against the Jedi, which would most likely lead to a heartbreaking duel between the two where either Ahsoka has to flee in order to survive or ultimately be struck down by Anakin trying and failing to save his soul (and we know what happened with both Padme & Obi-Wan on Mustafar). And the extremely unlikely but worse case scenario, her strong loyalty & faith in Anakin combined with her own reservations against the Jedi over how they treated her following the temple bombing, could potentially end up with Ahsoka possibly turning dark alongside her master. Again extremely unlikely, but still a rare possibility.

The "what if" hypothetical here is great. I like the idea of taking it further. I think the likelihood that both Anakin and Ahsoka leave the Jedi order together after finding out about Palpatine is high. If Mace Windu succeeded in killing Palpatine, Anakin and Ahsoka could have become even more disillusioned, leading to their leaving the order. At which point I could see Anakin following a path much more similar to Count Dooku, with both of them drifting more towards the Dark Side

After Tup's death, I think Ahsoka will definitely be investigating the truth behind the inhibitor chips along with Rex and some other clones. And with her help, they might ended up revealing the 150 contingency orders to the Jedi and the Republic. But considering what Pong Krell did during the Battle of Umbara, the Jedi Council and the Senate might not even be concerned about Order 66 and might even viewed it as a necessity. Their concerns will be more directed toward Order 37 because we all know such an order will led to nothing but a bloody massacre. And by the time the Battle of Coruscant took place, Count Dooku will ended up being arrested instead of executed by Anakin. However, this did not mean Palpatine do not have the other means to take Dooku out of the picture. And this is where Barriss Offee comes into play. I can see that Barriss has been deliberately allowed to escape by Palpatine to kill Count Dooku. And when that happened, Palpatine can somehow manipulate the situation and frame the Jedi for this murder by revealing it to everyone that Count Dooku died by a cut from lightsaber. To make the matter worse, he even leaked this out to the General Grievous and have him broadcast the death of Count Dooku for the entire galaxy to know. In order to deal with this, Jedi Council decided to investigate who is responsible for this and Palpatine will secretly planted the idea of Ahsoka should be the one who investigate such a case into Anakin's head. And with Ahsoka is preoccupied with the investigation and Obi-Wan and Yoda left for Utapau and Kashyyyk, Anakin will be left alone with just Palpatine. So did nothing change at all? Well, not really. Due to that the Jedi now know about Order 66, they will be more cautious around the clones and the clones themselves will feel somewhat uncomfortable with the idea of executing such an order like Order 66 or Order 37 and might even try to have them secretly removed. So in this scenario, there will be a lot more Jedi surviving Order 66 when Palpatine ordered the execution of such an order because they have mentally prepared themselves for such a scenario if it ever happened. But without the leadership of the Jedi on Kashyyyk due to they are being forced to flee from the battlefield along with the clones who no longer have the inhibitor chips in their heads and that the clones who did not remove the inhibitor chips are being forced to choose between pursuing them and holding off the invading droids army, General Linwodo will most likely be able to exploit the confusion brought by the execution of Order 66 and secure Kashyyyk for the Separatists Alliance. And with Kashyyyk secured, the Separatist Council can now choose where to go between Mustafar and Kashyyyk if they wanted to continue their war effort. Yes, Anakin's fall to the Dark Side and the execution of Order 66 might not be avoidable but the Clones War still raged on and Maul is still in charge of Mandalore at the moment. And without the political leadership of Count Dooku and the death of General Grievous on Utapau, Maul might decided to take a gamble to appear to Nute Gunray and the other members of the Separatist Council and offer him the services of the Black Sun, the Crimson Dawn and the Pyke Syndicate as privateers to the Separatists' cause as long as the Shadow Collective gets paid. Desperate, they will most likely accepted. Now, it will be an actual war between a Sith Lord and a Sith Assassin who wanted to become a Sith Lord. As for the Jedi, they used the time to rest, recuperate and planning about what to do next.

I'm sure it made him angry (so much so he didn't sense Anakin deciding to betray him to save Luke) but he just moved on with his plans. As useful as Anakin would be I don't think he was essential to Palpatine's plan. Even for other problems like if Palpatine wasn't able to defeat Mace Windu 1 on 1 all Palpatine would have to do is call clone soldiers in to help him or just run away and then execute Order 66. I think Mace truly overpowered Palpatine but he didn't push him into such a corner that he couldn't run away. After all he was faking not being able to shoot lightning anymore!

That rant towards Luminara was so on point.
The Jedi master who's always received the most hate is Ki-Adi-Mundi (which, tbf, mostly warranted) but Luminara is so much worse than he is. If Ki-Adi-Mundi had been in that situation with Anakin where both of their Padawan's were under rubble, he'd probably say something along the lines of "Control your feelings. If they die it will have been the will of The Force. We'll do all we can but be prepared for the scenario where they cannot be saved. Do not allow your attachment to Ahsoka cloud your judgment". Again, still a dick thing to say about their Padawan's that are in distress and arguably not helpful or needed, but he wouldn't just sit back and do nothing at all like Luminara did because of her narcissistic belief that she knew 100% exactly what The Force would want.
Ki-Adi-Mundi may have been a zealous psychopath who would probably be just as likely to sacrifice you as he would be to save you if he felt it would lead to the best strategic outcome, but one way or the other, he would do something and not simply let The Force be an excuse for inaction because he just couldn't be bothered to care.

Say, if Generation Tech does a video on Barriss Offee, I want to know if she made the wrong call in the end. To be fair to Barriss, she was only recently knighted, so that doesn’t give her a lot of influence among the Jedi. She may also have been the Padawan of a Jedi Council member, but by them they had different mindsets. However, terrorism just seems like a shot in the foot. I mean, has Barris considered what the Republic would be like without the Jedi. She makes a point that the war has damaged the Jedi Order, but her speech actually sounds more like what an Imperial propagandist would say. She says that she recognizes what people in the Republic see. And that actually makes me think she fell for the same lie Palpatine put the galaxy under. So long as Palpatine keeps the war going, the Jedi don’t look like they’re doing any good. If anything, it makes me wonder if she ironically gained the mindset of an Imperial loyalist during the war.
When it comes to potential what if videos, I like to see ones on the separate attempts by Fives and Kix to expose Order 66. Basically if Fox didn’t kill Fives and if Kix avoided being captured by the Separatists or was rescued by the Republic.
And speaking of video ideas, how about a theory video on the Rishi Maze, like if it might have its own species and what life is like in there and who from the Star Wars Galaxy would ever head over there.

Canon Explanation: Most material on Barriss in Canon is background details, so I’m not sure how influential these events would be. Maybe they built up over time. One event that probably did scar her was Geonosis. The first time she went there was at the start of the war where she watched plenty of Jedi die. The second time is what really shakes her up. With her master giving up on her and Anakin not doing the same for Ahsoka, it introduced Barriss to other perspectives and realize that the Jedi aren’t perfect or infallible. Then came the brain worm incident. Once again Ahsoka doesn’t take the sure option and kill her, banking on the cold to save the day. Barriss also was infected by the brain worm which made her an unrelenting killer, which might have made her feel a little off about how the Jedi have to do so much killing on a daily basis in the war. Over time little things like Pong Krell on Umbara build up a growing resentment Barriss has until she meets Letta. Now according to the wiki page, Barriss was the one who taught Letta how to use the nano-droids and told her to feed them to her husband.
I’m not sure if Letta really cared for her husband because even if it wasn’t her plan, she carried it out perfectly. I think Barriss had more bombings planned to cripple the Jedi Order given the large supply of nano-droids she had and wasn’t expecting her partner to get caught so quickly. Killing Letta was a desperate, but necessary move, but she at least made sure to time it so Ahsoka gets the blame. Two birds with one stone. When it comes to the friendship of Barriss and Ahsoka, I’m not sure what to say. Maybe the corruption of the Dark Side was too much for her and made it easy to become so brutal with her methods. She seemed to at least regret what she had to do to Ahsoka, but I think she was still willing to do whatever it took. Barriss is a tough one to analyze. She’s no mastermind, but I don’t think her actions could be considered those of a panicked planner. Things fell apart because Barriss underestimated Anakin and probably didn’t see Ventress coming. Arrogant, but not incompetent.
Ahsoka tells Bail Organa of her own views on Barriss in her novel. She disagrees with what Barriss did and thinks she should have found another way, but thinks Barriss was right about the Republic and the Jedi. I partially agree. The Republic was on the verge of becoming the Empire, no question there. I’m not so sure about the Jedi though. It was after this fiasco that the Jedi Order actually did more than just fight the war and stop Separatist plots. There was the attempted assassination of Dooku, a dark move that might have ended the war and mess up Palpatine’s plans, but more importantly there was the whole investigation into Sifo-Dyas and then into Palpatine. Of course, the Jedi kept their findings on the former yo themselves for the sake of the clones and maintaining a united Republic while they chose the worst Jedi to spy on Palpatine. I say the Jedi were starting to pull themselves out of the darkness, but kept coming up short thanks to their decisions.

This is why I am not a fan of the Jedi way or the Jedi. Luminara is the representation of the average Jedi in the show and what the average Jedi is, is someone I hope is never in charge of caring for me. We've been spoiled with the better side of the Jedi, and I'd like to see more of the average Jedi to more accurately depict why the Jedi fell, and why they had to fall. Barris was absolutely right about the Jedi.

In the novelization he agonizes over needing something to help ease the stress and fear off, desperately wanted to still hang with Obi-Wan and go after Grievous to take his mind off the Council and Chancellor.
If he'd had Ahsoka to bounce off his bad vibes (not like, confess stuff too since he still kept things under the hood) he would've been able to make it through the Arrest.

I don't think Anakin simply needed some love and acceptance to deal properly with Padme. If he was encouraged nothing would change. Maybe he would strike down the Jedi with less vengeance in his heart, but his actions, his reckless sacrifices for his wife, would remain essentially the same.
What Anakin needed was not mere acceptance. He needed someone who could change him. Someone who wields both compassion and philosophy. Anakin needed Qui Gon.

I cant even imagine what anakin would imagine proper training after going from a slave to a strict code that prevented him from doing the very things that kept him alive as a slave...and then he gets thrown into war and he is top notch....then he gets asoka so he wants to her to be trained like none before and yeah he went hard and everything she faced is because if caught as a jedi she would have receieved that and worse! Great channel and great show! Love the topic! Just my thoughts like my dad spanked me...and my parents were also a lil lienenant about alcohol when i was younger and now I dont even like drinking and I am doing exceptionally well for myself! saying that is why I said what i said earlier sometimes you dont know what u need till after you have it or got it and then later it all becomes clear and boom it saved you from making a mistake ! So for me I love that he went the extra mile because in the end Asoka over came it! So how can anyone say it was every tooo much she was headed into to war as a commander in the navy!

Also don't forget, imo what happened to Ahsoka was only the second big betrayal the Jedi did to Anakin, the first happened about a year or so before when the council forced Kenobi to fake his own death in order to infiltrate a group of bounty hunters competing to be hired by Count Dooku and they forced Kenobi not to confide in Anakin about this. This event also broke Anakin having to think his brother was dead. Ahsoka's wrongful banishment broke him further so by the time Palpatine revealed himself he only trusted Kenobi who was conveniently removed from the equation by Palpatine revealing where greivous was. And with yoda on Kashyyk and Ahsoks on Mandalore Anakin had noone he could trust outside Padme who he couldn't bring himself to tell any of this.

  • @bethandbillgardner7843
    @bethandbillgardner7843 Год назад

I usually like and appreciate your insights/opinions. This latest edition of “Ahsoka could have saved Anakin” is off the mark. Setting aside the real-world fact of Ahsoka being shown to the world AFTER “Revenge of the Sith” was released and therefore was always destined to be written out of Anakin’s life during the events of aforementioned film… Palpatine also had a knack (or exceptional planning) for getting Anakin alone with him. Would Ahsoka have been with him during the “rescue” of Palpatine? Maybe, maybe not. For one, Windu claimed the expulsion, trial, and redemption was “your great trial”. One of the other council members (Ki Mundi?) said that her behavior was “the true sign of a Jedi knight”. With the war losses and her development, why do we assume she would still be a padawan by the time ROTS happened? On top of all that, in The Clone Wars episodes, when Anakin had assignments involving Palpatine, or the Senate in general, Ahsoka was usually missing… assumably off on some other assignment.
OK, yeah… Ahsoka is my favorite of all Star Wars characters, so yeah, I may be prone to defend her. However, given that continuity demands she be absent during key events portrayed in Ep 3, and given that everyone’s responsibility is to ensure that they are doing OK before trying to help others (which she clearly wasn’t post temple bombing), expecting Ahsoka to save him or (as was implied in earlier video) to suggest she was selfish for not sticking around FOR HIM, is more than a bit unfair.
This is a debate and discussion that is a hypothetical, based in a fictional world, centering around events that can never occur without re-writing canon. Let’s not loose sight of this. Ahsoka has developed into perhaps the most well-rounded character in all of Star Wars. She could not have been there during events of EP 3, and this impossibility allowed Filoni & Co. to develop her in other interesting ways. Let’s enjoy what she became rather than lament what she could have never done due to canon restrictions and may not have even done if those restrictions didn’t exist.

Luminara is an excellent example of how the Jedi Order is, at best, mostly useless by the time of the Clone Wars.
Sure, there's a few stand-out Masters that aren't, but for every exception like Kenobi, Plo Koon, and even Mace Windu, you had at least one counter example like the arch-conservatives Ki-Adi-Mundi and Yoda. At least Luminara was really just a philosopher at heart, and utterly unsuited to the roles of General and military leader that were unexpectedly thrust upon her. Yoda and Mundi were quite possibly the perfect pair to have at the top of the Council for Palpatine's plans.

I do see your point about Obi-Wan being an authority figure Anakin may be slightly less likely to listen to than Ahsoka but I do really disagree that Obi-Wan didn't need Anakins Love, he did truly appreciate it, he was trying to help Anakin the only way he knew how, but he only knew the Jedi way which was a handy cap. I honestly think Ahsoka if she was with him during the time Palpatine reveal himself would be there for him and see the manipulation there, I also think once Mace tells them Obi-Wan has killed Greivous and is just cleaning up it would calm Anakin a little but he would still be flustered and confused, I honestly think Ahsoka would try to find a way to contact either Padme or Obi-Wan or ideally both so Anakin to speak to all his loved ones to help him through this as that's what he clearly needed at that time.

I just realized of abusive the Jedi Order is in a different way. They take away all safety nets for individual force sensitives, like in real-life abusive relationships, so that the force sensitives have nowhere to turn except the Jedi Order that doesn't give a single fuck about their mental well being and sticks to their rigid, failing moral code.
Anakin should've honestly left together with Ahsoka, but because the Jedi Order is all he has ever known except for his mom that was enslaved at that time, he felt like he had nowhere else to go. His relationship with Padmé was already getting a bit shaky, and the only other friend other than his own teacher was Ahsoka. Social isolation is a disaster waiting to happen for any human.
The Jedi Councils foundation of power and granting it is dependent on creating fear among their subordinates, yet had the audacity to say "Don't feel fear". It's all just willful ignorance at *best*.

I like that so many fans want to redeem Anakin but in the end, his acts are irredeemable, so everyone has to decide for themselves whether to forgive the character or not. The Jedi were corrupt, Palpatine was evil, the Tusken are ruthless, corporations are greedy, Ahsoka left, Obi-wan didn’t understand him, and Quigon died to early… all are contributory and none are valid excuses for genocide.
If he finally attained real wisdom after Return of the Jedi, than I’m happy for that, but saving his kid after a lifetime of betrayal and death to achieve his own ends isn’t altruistic-it was still about what Anakin wanted.
