      I guess its very surface dependent, definitely going to slowly ease into this.

    Saw this a while back, just checking it out again, great tips..
    This is what I do wrong, not keeping the feet together, and it turns into a hockey stop/power slide, and not a parallel slide. This will definitely help, thanks!

    Thank you *so much* for this, I've been practicing my parallel for so long and I've been stuck exactly as you describe it ! It's been forever, I couldn't figure out the problem. And the thing is I (indeed) was very unconfindent in my ability to do it if I get my feet to close to each other so I never thought that would be the solution. But thanks for pointing that out because to me it seems like exactly the hint I needed. I can't to put my skates on and try it !

      Hi Shaun ! I've been practicing some more and I'm still quite not there yet. I've recorded some footage to see what was wrong and it seems it pretty much comes down to overcoming my muscle memory, because I'll always get in a power slide position, rather than a parallel position. Be it intentional or not. Would you have some time to watch it ?

    • @FlowSkate
      @FlowSkate  7 лет назад

      So I just came back to home after skating. I tried Your method and after some falls I actually managed to do my first slide (It was like Whoa!) :D I tired more and finally sometimes it sucsess. I can say that if You have legs close it is easier and remember to keep the good edging. I need to train with balance but for a first time I feel like it was good.
      For sure I'll be using this technique! Thanks a lot Shawn!!!
