- First impressions of the new blaupunkt SQR semi-installed in my BMW e46. The reason the displays are flashing in the first clip is due to camera refresh rates, it doesn't look like that in real life.
You can turn off the beep.
How?
Just ordered one for my 190e.
Can't wait to finally have a sensible, adult, professional looking car sterio with all of the features I need.

No problems during my use, and lots of the minor issues I had have been patched with updates.
Thanks for the video. There’s precious little info available regarding this radio right now. Can you confirm if there’s an adjustable high pass crossover for the pre-outs in the audio settings?

Hi thanks for the video. I am looking to install this unit in an e46 also. Do you know if it is compatible with the OEM Harmon Kardon system? Would any extra parts be required? I'm a car audio beginner BTW.
I don't have the Harmon kardon system, so I don't know if there is a factory amp or not. Assuming not, then it should just fit like any other aftermarket stereo, you'll just need a harness adapter. If you do have a factory amp then things start to get a bit more tricky.

Well, I don't know how the HK amp connects to the factory head unit - I even heard it used optical connections, but I don't know if that's true. If it were me, I'd look online to see what other people have done to fit aftermarket stereos to the HK system. The blaupunkt will be basically the same as any other aftermarket head unit in terms of connection. Alternatively you could disassemble your dash and take a look at the wiring yourself. Best of luck! Great video, thank you! Can you confirm that after startup you always have to go through the SRC menu to have music playing through Bluetooth? Only having the phone and Bluetooth on won’t do to have this source automatically selected, right?
Anyone able to answer this? There is actually a firmware update available and in the notes it does mention ACC OFF/ON Bluetooth reconnect.. any info from anyone would be really appreciated
Thanks for pointing that out, I had no idea there was an update. I'm currently adding a 4 channel amp to my system so the HU isn't plugged in, but once it's plugged in again I'll update and get back to you. Thanks for watching!

Yes. I haven't tested how quickly it charges though. I think it is designed more for data transfer so charging might be slow.. it's also not great having a cable hanging around the gear knob. You might be better installing a USB port elsewhere or using an adapter for your cigarette lighter:)

How did you connect the graphic equalizer? did you use the speaker output wires from the bremen to the kenwood?
Yes, the bremen has 4x RCA out and I used two for the EQ. The only other wires are positive, negative and ignition.
Do the radio automatic turn on when you start the radio car
And is the light always on if you only connect ground and 12v+
Yup it automatically turns on. All the lights are off if the remote wire is mot powered, but you can still press the knob to turn it on for an hour even if your car is off.
Installed this in E39 and it's just great! Haven't yet connected to steering buttons. I'm a great Spotify listener but this doesn't show song name.. just the BT-STREAMING on display. Is it possible to set it somewhere to scroll or what? Not a big deal but even the cheap Pioneer did it with Spotify through bluetooth.
P.S. Red fits to BMW better than this orange there!

I also listen through spotify! I don't know that there is a way to display song name, I didn't see anything about it on the website. Have you tried streaming without spotify? It wouldn't be surprising if this feature only worked with the official media player on your phone.
can you plug the phone into the usb and does it stream and show the song name?
I'll have a look tomorrow. I know that it shows the song name when listening through SD, so it might indeed be possible.
@@JasonSchuren I've tried a number of times to get USB to work but it simply doesn't want to play ball. Need to read through the instruction manual again.
@@Headloch Your USB flash could be in NTFS format instead of FAT16/32 or smth. Need to be formatted again in correct format.
I just received mine today and the volume knob is lightly wobbly and has play in it. Is this the case with anyone else? I would expect a nice tight knob with this product, not a wobbly one.
Mine was not wobbly
@@Headloch thanks for letting me know. General consensus seems they are not meant to be wobbly. So your volume button has no play in it, side to side or up and down?
Well, maybe a touch because it is made of rubber or something. But certainly not enough to bother me or seem poorly made. I don't like the feel of the tape flap, it feels incredibly clicky and flimsy.

No problem, I can check but I'm fairly certain yes it was made in China. The Blaupunkt name is sold around to many companies, the people who made blaupunkt products in the 90s are not the same who use the name now. Hopefully you can return yours under warranty?

It is not really proper to do an audio review, when your speakers dont work... Thats like selling houses that are still under construction
