I tried it for the first time yesterday and immediately thought it was amazing I did not get the same nose profile but that's what makes bourbon so unique and so special and different for everybody
I just found a bottle a couple days ago and it's delicious!!
I keep the fingers crossed every time my spouse asks me "You really aren't going to buy any more bourbon are you?" and I look deeply into her eyes and lie my ass off.
My wife hates me drinking but luckily is frugal she said yesterday better stock up on bourbon because I heard it was goin up in price oh woman of perplexity oh wait that’s why they call bourbon a girl love the smell complex taste and makes me feel so good ❤

The toasted barrel is not available in my state. It's sad cause the small batch is one of best bourbons I’ve had so far and the price is nice. I also like double barrel bourbons like the doubled oaked and the 1910. Maybe some day I'll get my hands on this.

Double oak Jim beam at 25$ is delicious especially after opening Then recorking for a few months
The first thing I got on the nose was chocolate. I really liked the nose and the taste, but I felt like there was a lot of charcoal in the finish. Overall, I liked it a lot, but not sure it's good enough for the price.

Elijah Craig small batch is soo good I like even better than barrel proof the Elijah Craig rye is a winner too

I purchased my bottle of ECTB back in March. It's definitely gotten more of those classic EC notes that I love but the extra barreling did it no favors and definitely not worth the 55 I paid.
Thanks for the awesome review. I found that the toasted barrel had more flavor than the small batch, but it wasn't better flavor. Small batch over this any day

Man I bought a bottle and my boy did too and we thought 💭 the same thing not worth the allocated price...small batch is better and Barrel proof still the best bargain bourbon 🥃....bring on the 12yr small batch 👌🏽🔥💯

I seen this for $45 and I passed. No way does it cost almost DOUBLE to age in an additional cask then the small batch.

I'm with you Matt just love the small batch and don't need to get toasted for $60. As always LOL lumber smell? I bought a bottle of Barrel proof ($70) and it was way to hot for me and I don't know how folks drink that stuff so as I said it's small batch 94 proof for me.
EC Barrel Proof is an incredible flavor bomb but it can drink a little hot. Try mixing the Barrel Proof with the Small Batch. I poured half A120 Barrel Proof and half small batch to get about about 115 proof that had all the flavor of the Barrel Proof but not nearly as hot. You might want it lower; 2/3 Small Batch and 1/3 Barrel Proof is about 108 proof. Find your proof sweet spot and mix the Batch Proof down to that with the Small Batch instead of water.
@@twentyfiveyears5010 Thanks for the tip. What I do is use a mix having about 33% barrel proof and 67% Kessler whiskey. This makes it drinkable but the flavor will be cut back.You could also cut it with Jack Daniels but the Kessler is 1/3 the cost and tastes the same.

A great bottle for sure!! I’m certainly a more traditional bourbon fan so the ECBP is my jam. Anything that takes stocks away from that line and allocation I furrow at lol Cheers!

After watching a ton of ADHD videos, this is one of the few reviews I totally disagree with. I absolutely love this bottle, but I know Matt isn't much of a toasted finish fan across the board.
Have to be honest...wasn’t a huge fan of Elijah Toasted...1910 wins hands down for similar whiskey.
