I have had a 2006 turbo S with no reliability issues at all. Very fast, pratical and handles better than most saloon cars. The only downside is can be juicy around town. Also if you get the external spec right can be good looking. An awesome machine.
+/Dream Car Garage 1 (DCG1) Maybe, but it seems that you want to have your cake and eat it too(whatever that means)! I wouldn't consider a car like that if i was worried about fuel cost.
I see what you're saying but why not? Even if you can afford it that doesn't mean you enjoy high fuel costs. Anyway it's just a tip. Take it or leave it. ;-)
Porsche Cayenne Owners.. could you PLEASE PLEASE tell us about Reliability of the 2002-2007's.. is it a Money pit to buy a used one? (Other than Petrol of course)...
Mr. Perfect Thanks! I'm sure you've already taken care of the major issues by now (coolant pipes, timing belt, etc.) .. would you pls. tell me what kind of Mileage (KM or Miles) you've got on the car? I'm looking at a 200,000 KM 2006 v6 in good condition.. I'm wondering if it's already past its good days...
+Dan Heather mine has 169 000 km on the clock hay! my friends has one with 249 000 km on the clock also with minimal issues expect your wear and tear...
These are going so cheap now you have to wonder why. Any reliability concerns? I suppose air suspension could be a costly repair at some point but what else?
Its a great car, but i always questioned its appeal...its an suv, so it is invariably practical, but the cayenne isnt that great off road despite it being called an 'suv'.....if you wanted a fast, practical car, that handled well....what exactly was wrong with sporty estates from BMW, mercedes etc......they're all fast and good round the bends, and they have equal off road credentials

i just bought one !! so happy i cant sleep..hope it lasts..but needless to say im jumping up and down like a kid with a new bike :))
Definitely gets my vote. One of my favourite Porsches of all time
A couple of years ago I paid $10,000 CDN for a 2004 Cayenne S. It has been a great vehicle, and costs less to maintain than my friend's Mercedes SUV.
I forgot to mention although cheap to buy running costs astronomical.eg 17mpg insurance group 20 & £500p/yr road tax

It is surely an amazing SUV. One of the best ever.
Go on then. Stick an LPG conversion on it and I might just be tempted.
+/Dream Car Garage 1 (DCG1)
Enough with the lpg already!
νικος γιώργος Hey if you live in the uk then using lpg HALVES your fuel costs! On a car as thirsty as the cayenne it's got to be a consideration.

Had a 957 turbo a few years back...Amazing
Can you do a review on the V8 diesel please.
An absolute joy to drive, gets my vote
The best SUV ever.
mpg on this thing?
Fuel consumption is kinda fierce. My V8 averages 12.5 l/100 km. It certainly owns the passing lane on a two lane highway, though.
Porsche designs has not changed much today compared to these cheaper Porsche cayennes
very nice ,liking the price ,a lot of car for your money

Coolant pipes problems
Doesn't sound major if caught while leaking? Was wondering if there are motor issues like ims bearings M96/97 motors. That type of thing
+9000Redline lol was pretty hectic wen it happened to me while on the road haha but in terms of engine problems i have nothing to report :)

I have one be warned to budget $2000/year for repairs.
It would appear Ferrari manage just fine to make spectacular sports cars without huge profits from SUV sales...
