Thanks again Casey for towing our truck! Awesome to chat with another hard working truck driver and thanks Ecoflow for picking up the towing tab! As far as running new trucks, we upgraded all our trucks over the last 5 years to be ahead of the game when Oregon follows California withs its Standards. So ridiculous! Cow farts are bad but burning cow piss is ok? Anyway the dealer and Kenworth have been great, its all been covered under warranty. Truck is repaired and back to work! The gaurd under the front is protection for the Allison transmission cooler. I know, I know, yuck its got an automatic, but for local hauling in and out of town constantly with traffic and roundabouts, they work great! 11 litre 430hp engine with 1650lbs of torque gets doubled because of the torque converter. 58,000 lbs loaded up to speed in half the time of a manual with no shock load to the running gear! Anyway, have a super freaking awesome day!

When I was a kid (50+ years ago) I had a part-time job cleaning up at a shop. When the boss was considering hiring a mechanic the last thing he did was ask if he could look at the guy's car or truck, including the trunk. Depending on how neat and organized it was he would decide. 🤔 He ran a tight ship.

Casey, I know I am preaching to the choir here... I took some time and made 4 identical tool bags for each of my 4 trucks. Fittings, tools, everything the same so now it doesn't matter who is on the truck operating it, the everything is always there. It was my son who took the time to build the bags and convince me to spend the $ because I was always the one forgetting to put the tools back where they belonged. We enjoy your videos as we are always learning a trick or two to make our lives better.

I'm in IT and don't do all that much on the technical side, and I already do that with some of my tools. In my car, my man cave and my garage-repurposed-to-storage-and-some-workspace I have a full set of screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, sockets, box cutters and tape measures. Granted, nothing too exciting or expensive (and each of those have more tools than that, just with less overlap), but I was sick and tired of walking all over trying to find something.
I can certainly imagine the pain and chagrin of knowing you have a tool, but also knowing it's 45 minutes in (*points*) direction...

I don't know how many times in over 25 years of sharing a truck with "the population", the truck interior is just decimated compared to how I left it 12 hours earlier. Yes, the company owns the truck, but it's my office and second home when I'm at work, and it's someone else's when I'm off work and they are driving it. Makes me wonder what my co-worker's homes look like!!! That Western Star is clean inside, I'd just jump in and drive it anytime! I'd even sleep in the bunk, with my bedroll of course!

My only issue is all the trucks look the same so I don't know how you would know which truck you are driving

My experience with emissions trucks…. Last pre-emission truck 1.4 million miles, 9 years, 10 days of downtime, no real issues other than normal maintenance…. Last 4 emission trucks 1 million miles, 10 years, appx 6 months of emissions related down time on the last 3, the first I owned 36 months of which it spent 13 months in the shop. It’s almost impossible to stay on the road for more than 6 months without some sensor or other computer part failing. The only downtime I’ve had that was not directly related to the emissions system was a broken fifth wheel (3 days waiting for parts) he rest has all been sensors and corrupted computer files.

Paccar has a lot of problems with DEF (we call it adblue in europe) DAF also uses paccar engines (they are the only European brand that doesn't make his own engines) and they are horrible. They have low tourqe, high fuel use and a lot of problems with injectors and DEF.
In europe when you hve a problem like this (that you need a computer reset) they just drive up too you with a laptop fix it and go again. That will cost around €100 depending on distance and truckbrand. In europe we only tow trucks when they are not able too drive or cant be fixt on a safe place (brake down on a highway is always a tow) other then that, the garage just comes too you. I had a waterpump broken 2months ago and they (I stopped at a truckstop) and they replaced it there. It took them 70min to get there and the fix was 1 hour work. So with 2.5hours i was driving again. The best part off it, that all combined (ex the waterpump itself) costs only €250 too fix that. They only tow you when the time they need too tow is more the 30min less then the time it cost too fix it, other then that they fix it on The road. Thats also why there are a lot less towing companies over here compaired too the US. Im from the netherlands and with 17 million ppl we only have 100 tow companies. Most are contracted by the government so when you brake down with your car on the highway they tow you too a safe place for free. When my girlfriend broke down with her car it took them 7min to get too her and 5min to tow the car. Then they drove for 15min too a workshop and dropped her off. All of that cost her nothing. Its done like that because roadsafety is more important then making money. I think the USA can learn a thing or two from how things are done in europe regarding roadsafety.
Regardless, i really love your content and i follow you for a long time already and always love it.
You keep up the good work and stay safe
