Not sure it's clear that this was on the same episode as the previous performance, so they had a week to do both arrangements, and work out choreography, costumes, etc., with Kirstie sick. And there's an opening number for each episode which includes all the groups still in contention, so they also had to learn that music and choreography. Then they performed the opening and both their songs within an hour. I wonder if PTX decided to sit for much of this song in case Kirstie was super exhausted at this point. It's so sweet to see the guys focused on her and supporting her.
You have the perfect personality for doing reactions - your face is so expressive, you have a quick wit and sense of humor - this is another great one!
Thanks so much, Beth! That means a lot ❤️
# 12 Is the worlds first Mitch slap they save it for the very last judged performance!
Looking forward to that one.
Anyone else getting excited waiting for Saeed to get to the really big ones? :D
Even me 😅😄
Meee!
I honestly don’t know how they kept up the pace in these last few shows. It took all five of them to win this contest. There were so versatile. They adapted to every genre with their unique talents. It’s fun to watch them again. I think we were all glad Kirstie got through this second performance because she had been so sick. Like Mitch still says today, this is where Pentatonix created the basis for what we hear now. So young, yet so talented.
I was just watching a Super fruit video today where Scott and Mitch were looking at videos of themselves performing when they were children. I learned Mitch can play piano which I don’t think I ever knew before.
I really admire how Kirstie persevered that week. She did a great job as lead for the song even though she was sick and had done other performances during the same show. I'm glad that the show had Pentatonix go first for performance 7 and last for performance 8. It gave Kirstie time to rest in between. Thanks.
Much respect to her for persevering.
Thanks for watching.
Can't wait for 10 and 12!
Saeed their talent is unmistakable. They were born for the big stage. Other groups lasts a couple of years. We are so glad they are still together (even though Matt is now their one corner of the Penta). TX for this. Appreciate you. Greetings from South Africa
They are definitely meant to do this. Thanks for watching. Greetings from Belgium.
I really enjoy hearing their performances!
Thanks for your great reaction and sharing !
A lot of fun going through these and learning more about them. Thanks so much for watching.
Pentatonix is truly genre-less which may be why they don’t get airplay. They aren’t a pop group because they won a Grammy for arranging a medley of Daft Punk EDM songs. They aren’t an EDM group because their second Grammy was from arranging Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy a classical tune from The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky. They aren’t a classical group because they won their third Grammy with country icon Dolly Parton singing a remake of Jolene a country song. They are a jack of all genres (trades) and they are truly Masters of all of it.
I really like this one. Very pleasant to listen to. I like the choreography--Kirstie's impartial attentions to to the male members sortof transformed the song from a boy-girl love song to a love for a circle of close friends. I don't know why Shawn made his comment about the reggae breakdown and PTX "adding their little flavors," because Sugarland did the reggae part in the original. But anyway, it was a charming performance that left me with a smile on my face.
It definitely shows they can do any genre.
Thanks for watching.
They can sing anything!
Glad you are enjoying the sing-off journey. It really is amazing how good they were right away but somehow they’ve just gotten better. Thanks for your reaction.
They started at high level! Incredible. Thanks for watching.
Did you see that PTX celebrated their 13th birthday? #10 is going to get you. #12 will finish you off. Enjoy 😊
