    This car is so nice in that blue. It’s just so uncommon, meaning it’s hard to find nice examples with all the extras and low miles in blue

      @@toxikoz6493 I’ve been upto 49 mpg but I reckon if I took it on a long motorway run ide get more,which I think is good considering it may be diesel but you have fast acceleration to at 0-60 in 7-2 seconds,where the 2-0 litre petrol version is 0-60 in 5-2 seconds if I mind right and 35-40 mpg,best car I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few.

    I'm curious - what is the point of raising the rear spoiler apart from it looking nice? The car is front wheel drive so I don't see the benefit of pushing the rear tyres into the ground at motorway speed - surely raising the spoiler just increases drag and lowers MPG? What is the MPG drop with the spoiler raised?

    • @J21ahudson
      @J21ahudson 4 года назад +1

      The original tt (mk1) had a problem with it becoming very loose on the rear end at speeds around 70/80mph so for that one they fitted a fixed rear spoiler. For mk2 and 3 they fitted a active spoiler that will activate at 75 and deactivate at 55 so it keeps the lines and shape of the car looking the same but with better aerodynamics at higher speed. It's not always about pushing the rear tyres into the road also it think it looks cool

      @@J21ahudson I bought a top spec TT Mk3 Quattro since posting this and whilst I love the look of the spoiler I've found the car is noticeably unstable when the spoiler pops up on the motorway lol. I find it very strange - it definitely does not make the car feel more stable at all at high speed - total opposite.

    • @J21ahudson
      @J21ahudson 4 года назад +1

      @@Naughtystimpy well give it a go at deactivating the rear spoiler and then try going around a bend at high speed. Let me know how quickly you spin out :) and just to put it there. My top spec TT mk3 feels very stable at motorway speeds

    • @Naughtystimpy
      @Naughtystimpy 4 года назад +1

      @@J21ahudson Do you have a Quattro? I'm just wondering if it's to do with the 4WD. The back end is very jittery with it raised at high speed - I normally force it down by choice on motorways but manually put it up in the wet as I assume it must be giving more grip to the rear tyres. Also, it massively effects mpg - I can easily get 10 mpg lower with it raised cruising at motorway speed.

    great video but please don't rev out diesel engines like that. one: the engines are not meant to be high revving, leave that to the petrol ones and secondly: it doesn't sound nice one bit. also leave that to the petrol engines. the rest of the video is good. Cheers.
