I have the ultra diesel and yeah it's awesome. fast too. And returns 60+ mpg on the motorway with the aircon on full blast on a 200 mile trip. 20 quid to tax £260 to insure. And a 150mph car it's a no brainer
Im down to these 2 options: 1) Audi TTS 2) Porsche Cayman S; although the latter costs an arm more. Im still having a difficult time deciding. Should be able to get one within 6 months in time for the 2018 model.
good review. but who in their right mind would buy a tt for practicality, that just for fun. Completely agree backseats are a gesture, nonetheless more rear space than coupes that size.
I agree it seems people that only drive all by themselves by this car and from market research that could have been proven to be true hence why they did it
I don't get why any reviewer at this point would recommend the diesel engine over the very good 2.0l petrol, especially for this type of car. Hearing a noisy diesel chugging along in this kind of car, plus the surrounding issues around VW Group make it the least appealing engine especially for depreciation. If you're buying this you're not bothered by paying a little more on road tax and petrol.

@@johnnyparker2128 I never heard of S-Tronics in TT unless it was installed specigically for your regional market. Usually it is DSG - dual sequential gearbox, pretty much robot controlled manual with wet clutch. This is what in my 2013 TT 2.0T.
I LOVE the look of this car.. but I have a GTI now and it's hard for me to consider paying so much more for the same engine and similar performance. I'd get the TTS but that car is quite a bit more expensive with the Nav and other options. Wish they put the engine from the new A4 in this.
This guy is amazing with his talking and stuffs. Subscribed and btw what car should I buy for a start tho ? Audi tt coupe or bmw m2 coupe or suggestions ?
the TT in my Country ( Indonesia ) is around $100k, which makes it a lot less interesting option as i can get the Z4 with almost less than 80k here. and with 20k spare it's a shame really because this car looks really hot.
I've got the Audi TT 1.8 TFSI 2016 in Vegas Yellow as daily car. It's a very fun car with lots to offer. The only thing I would love to have is a change on the shifter since it's quite a long throw from 2nd to 3rd for example. A bit shorter would make this the perfect car. And ofcourse: any head in town is turning to admire my car passing by with my TT RS 20" rims and Vegas Yellow paint! :)
@@perhanperhanovic2635 It does haqve the 180hp engine (TFSI 1.8). It certainly has a nice kick in 1st en 2nd gear when pushing pedal to the metal. However, as is with all cars: you get used to it and after couple of years, a bit more would be fun. But that's with all cars and other materials in our life. Reason I went with the 180PK is bang for buck compared to other engines AND in Belgium you pay a hefty yearly tax the bigger your engine is. If tax isn't a factor for you, go with the 2.0 TFSI one. And perhaps with shift-peddals if possible.
@@DeniedGamingz Okay, thanks for the response! Well here in Sweden taxes are high as well. But I am a software developer student, so when I am done with school I think I will manage to pay the bills. I saw 2.0 TFSI for 29.000 Euro with 45.000km. That car had 320hk, which is more than enough for that size :). The only thing I consider is that everybody is calling the car a ”Hairdresser car”.
@@perhanperhanovic2635 It used the be that car indeed, back in the early 2000's. Since the MK3 (2015'ish) they decided to give this model a nose that is based from the R8. It looks way more sporty and manly compared to MK2 and certainly the MK1. BTW: are you sure it's 320hp and not 230hp? The TT TFSI 2.0 has 230hp. The TTS TFSI has 310hp (which is also 2.0) but only 10Nm more torque.
Love the compact design of this car. Hairdressers car? People say the same about Peugeot bubblehead coupe. Get a free haircut with every service? Shame you can't manual with AWD. Never owned an auto.

2 + 2 is for cargo really.. or dogs. Q they should just make it a 2 seater. makes the car more sporty and probably lighter and probably most cost efficient. these type of cars are for performance and enthusiast. otherwise people would buy a practical hatches or suv.
Mat, I am looking to buy a Mk II TT, and I cannot decide on colour. Help me out here please! Brilliant Red, Monza Silver or Ibis White? I am not usually an out there, look at me kind of person, but the red is nice. The problem is that they all are. HELP!
Please be aware of a MAJOR design fault with this car. We have bought one in the last week and suffered some heavy rain in the first few days. The design of the bottled will just pour (NOT DRIP) water into the boot space. I don't mean it's a trickle, it just runs down the inside of the lid and into the boot space. Anything in there will be soaked. We are now trying to return the car to Audi due to this fault (they call it a characteristic of the car). The Service Manager at Audi had one of these and confessed to this fault but only after we bought it.
I have the new A4 and I like it and now Iam looking to buy a TT for a second car. Lets see if the review will give me an answer to buy or not to buy...
