An incredible talent enjoying fantastic form. Lets hope he can push his predecessor for career medals haul. And what's really exciting is that him and Jimmy O'Brien are virtually interchangeable as full backs and wingers.
@@darraghtormey1500 yh tbf irland need to have a back up plan for keeneen just incase. For me I'd like to see henshaw go there if we lose henshaw as he have good back up 12s and henshaw has played 15 before and been very good as he's very good in the air and would offer a good kicking option and that's something we don't use enough imo
Some of these compilations can disappoint. You know it's a great player but often the actual compilations can be weak in proof of it. But with this, it shows it all. Every skillset a fullback should have is stuffed into the first 3 or 4 minutes. Keenan is the real deal. Lethal fast brain at work is the most impressive thing I see. The little stalls in full flight to make sure he's making the correct decisions. "Will I pass it, will I hold on a bit longer, will I wrong foot this guy and then pass?" It's watching his brain work so calmly that impresses me most.
Probably the most consistent player not just full back in world rugby for the past 4 years. His fitness has stood to him from his 7's background and his defence is absolutely perfect for a guy whos not the biggest. His ball carrying has no weaknesses and he's a very balance runner off both feet and almost always get by the 1st defender. And then his biggest strength is under the high ball. He just dominates every other full back when he plays them for both Leinster & Ireland. Jimmy O'Brien the 2nd choice backup to Keenan is a very similar player to him tol. Both played Gaelic football growing up so the skills from that game have carried over with them.
Kennan has it all, supreme in the air, great in attack, and a great defender. Always very consistent and dont ever remember him having a bad game. If he gets injured in the World Cup, think it will have a huge impact as there is no obvious replacement for him imo
Without a doubt. You want your 15 to give the consistency he gives, but the flashes of brilliant as evidenced in the video set him apart. A solid 8/9 every game
he shouldnt be, he doesnt have huge genetic potenital over any other player, not the tallest, strongest, fastest. But he most certainly is the best right now..
Won't be this year brother not with Jordys brother at fullback....hmm! Interesting match up Beaudy v Keenan. But Keenan would fit comfortably in Black.
not steward way too slow and easy to step due to his size, which we saw in the six nations with Scotland scoring from stepping steward twice and France doing the same thing
Keenan is a 10 with pace and is good under the highball. But unlike most 10s hes happy playing fullback and can join the like like a centre. You dont need a 10-12 axis if you have a 10-15 axis
I know what u mean but I think he's a 15 with a great skill set not a 10 playing 15. What's underrated is how a player sees the field. A 15 sees the whole game in front of him, the best ones pick their spots from that and strike, just like Keenan. But put him into 10, closer to the breakdown, with his centers and back 3 behind him... I'm not sure you'd get the same high standard of play. Just the way I see the game....
@@canadiancontent352 agree. As a Leinster fan I believe he's played 10 but 7s has turned him a super-fit FB . His engine seems infinite & he's got 7s speed & ball skils
He is the most consistent player ive eber seen, nearly perfect. He wins everything in the air, never drops the ball. Ive seen him make 1 mistake ever
Don’t think you’ve heard of conrad smith
He makes at maximum 1 mistake per match
Just really reliable, seems to eat pressure which is what you need from a fullback. Has saved god knows how many tries for Ireland. Great rugby brain.
Definitely the form fullback, Willemse from the stormers also on form especially for the past 2 seasons. its going ro be an exciting World Cup.
100%. Reminds me of Ben Smith
He’s a brilliant player! Good luck for the World Cup
He is just such an amazing player they broke the mould when they made him . Super star 🌟
With Ramos, yes. But Ramos was too inconsistent and poor against Ireland and Leinster. Keenan is less whimsical but more reliable.
Two players and neither are close in my opinion it is Freddie Steward easily

I disagree with Jimmy obrien at fullback as he's nowhere near as good in the air as keenen athlough I do think Jimmy O'brien is good on the wing
@@DS-ty2nb Fair point. But JOB has proven himself pretty competent at 15. Like a lot of players in the game today, both are flexible and versatile.

One of those players where he isn't the best at anything but everything is 8/10 with no weaknesses
He’s the best at being a fullback
More like 10/10 in every department
It's an unpopular opinion but yes he's understated excellence a bit like Denis Erwin
