Às a South African, the thing that surprises me most about this video is that you managed to cut it down to 12 minutes. The man is an exceptional rugby player!! Much respect!
I watched him play a few months ago, at first he looks a little clumsy and not so fast. But then he gets the ball and runs past five defenders easily... World class player, never looks under pressure.
In France, we often melioratively refer to Gabin Villiere (our other big name on the wings) as a dog, for his aggressivity, tenacity, the fact that he never lets go. Looking at this video and Damian's "you don't know what I'm going to do next because even I have no bloody clue" style of rugby, I realise that he can also be compared to a dog. It is just that while Villiere is a rottweiler, Penaud would be a labrador (and we love him for it)
His ratio games/tries is astonishing. I like his "weird" runs; It feels like his equilibrium would make him slide and stumble but he's a real x factor. Amazing winger !
not sure if it's correct to say he doesn't look that fast or that he doesn't look like he's making an effort absolutely glorious to watch! thanks Andrew
It's only when you watch him at clermont that you understand just how good he is. The team is dependent on him so he's a lot more involved and has to create chances on his own. It's safe to say that Bordeaux won't miss Santi Cordero since Penaud is defintly an upgrade
you forget his is a tailend product of 10 year cleemtont project, his form after the ball goes past him is very french he doesnt play the whistle he plays his opinion, barbarians 2022 WRC vs NZ, he waits for a tissue to meet his tears other then wait to hear the whistle! my only observation that is negative, he doesnt learn basics like switch ball to non tackle side so a great player with large flaws
@@ballinlough12345 that’s a joke. They’re both World class. Have you seen Will Jordan’s try scoring record? His impact on every game he plays? He’s well on his way to be an all time great.
@@Youre he’s started off well for 2 seasons. Ireland kept him very quiet . When he is doing it consistent for another 3 or 4 years and sorts out his defence you can mention him amongst names like penaud

Damian is kinda crazy on and off the pitch, he a really special. When he activates those big strides , slaloming left and right and supported by his massive fends… he s a mustang a dog and a vampire in the same body. I wouldn’t t have anybody else on my wing. He used to be clumsier in defence but 4 years of Shaun Edwards’ recipe has clearly corrected that, he s now very agressive at the breakdown as well Hearing his large laugh is a thing of beauty too 😂
Early in the video there's a great Penaud break and he passes it in the try zone to Rougerie. All the tribute videos in the late 2010s used that clip to crown him the next Rougerie lol
He has such a deceptive running style, and somehow his tries always look like they were actually quite easy. Of course the opposite is true. You never give a vampire the taste of blood

They definitely have a different type of flair , having them as a combo is huge. Let the dogs out 🎉 🇫🇷
Lol that is a brilliant description of his style 😂 x

It's look so easy. The Perfect mix between a center and a winger
Enjoys the cwinger lifestyle
Best winger in the world by a mile. A joy to watch and looks so happy when he runs😂
Have you heard of Will Jordan?
He's like a labrador playing with a ball.

Yeah started as a 13, still occasionally plays there for Clermont
2:45 that ref got flattened
We always talk about Dupont but for me Dupont and Penaud are both gems in their own way
French Rugby encapsulated in one player.
One the best winger of the world

My favorite player 💪, the Best winger in the world 😁
He is currently the best winger in the world
I bet this one could have gone a full hour! 😁
On parle beaucoup de Dupont ces derniers temps (et à juste titre !!!) mais Penaud c'est quelque chose aussi
Welcome to Bordeaux! I would love to see him more at the centre of our attack
Penaud = ⚡️🐕🐶
1:19 why number 4 run like that 💀💀
The best winger actually
He's some player, he deceptively fast, it looks like he's jogging but he's still smoking everyone

Well ... Obviously.
Un mélange de Rougerie et de Clerc... Il est magique et si heureux de jouer.. Triste qu'il quitte Clermont, mais il le devait..

The first try against Australia is indeed "outrageous "!

He looks like the Canadian comedian Dan Aykroyd!!
But can he do it on a cold night in Pontypridd?

Now do Nick Abendanon
