Às a South African, the thing that surprises me most about this video is that you managed to cut it down to 12 minutes. The man is an exceptional rugby player!! Much respect!

I watched him play a few months ago, at first he looks a little clumsy and not so fast. But then he gets the ball and runs past five defenders easily... World class player, never looks under pressure.

In France, we often melioratively refer to Gabin Villiere (our other big name on the wings) as a dog, for his aggressivity, tenacity, the fact that he never lets go. Looking at this video and Damian's "you don't know what I'm going to do next because even I have no bloody clue" style of rugby, I realise that he can also be compared to a dog. It is just that while Villiere is a rottweiler, Penaud would be a labrador (and we love him for it)

His ratio games/tries is astonishing. I like his "weird" runs; It feels like his equilibrium would make him slide and stumble but he's a real x factor. Amazing winger !

It's only when you watch him at clermont that you understand just how good he is. The team is dependent on him so he's a lot more involved and has to create chances on his own.
It's safe to say that Bordeaux won't miss Santi Cordero since Penaud is defintly an upgrade

you forget his is a tailend product of 10 year cleemtont project, his form after the ball goes past him is very french he doesnt play the whistle he plays his opinion, barbarians 2022 WRC vs NZ, he waits for a tissue to meet his tears other then wait to hear the whistle! my only observation that is negative, he doesnt learn basics like switch ball to non tackle side so a great player with large flaws

Damian is kinda crazy on and off the pitch, he a really special.
When he activates those big strides , slaloming left and right and supported by his massive fends… he s a mustang a dog and a vampire in the same body.
I wouldn’t t have anybody else on my wing.
He used to be clumsier in defence but 4 years of Shaun Edwards’ recipe has clearly corrected that, he s now very agressive at the breakdown as well
Hearing his large laugh is a thing of beauty too 😂
