Not defending the drivers actions, but when you’re loaded up with almost 300 stops on 12 hour shifts with an angry supervisor on a power trip, mistakes are bound to happen.
I work the morning loading shift at a UPS center in a downtown area of a relatively major city, and our center doesn't look a lot like this one. Ours is mostly older and more broken. And to a lot of people in these comments, keep in mind, while it's easy to just give us all flak and see UPS as a faceless corporate entity, most of us are just regular people doing our jobs as best we can, day in and day out. We're no more infallible than you are.
lmao, they only show the small sort. i worked at this facility doing bulk. it's a fuckin slaughterhouse and your packages are getting thrown around like shit.
UPS sucks because they deliver different types of packages all in one vehicle. Which usually means you'll have to wait a long time for your package to be delivered to your house.
I love my job just not working for the higher up of UPS!!! Rich bastards. I make $32 an hour to deliver boxes, eat, sleep, socialize, take breaks, Wth no one breathing down my neck!!!
"WOW now i see how they Treat my Stuff, pretty neat but they also need to treat packages more delicate. They've broke stuff I've sent." Never broken anything I've sent, and I've sent and recieved hundreds. Poor packing is your problem
I work for UPS in Brazil, and for me is a great company! All these people, they are insatisfact with the company, can find a better place for them! Really, I don't understand, if UPS is a bad company for you work for, all that you have to do is just CHANGE! Anybody is forced to work for UPS... That´s my point of view.
HA they wish it was this clean at ups if you actually took a tour of ups on a regular day and see how many packages get damaged you would never ship through them again
I worked on Preload and sorted the belt for which side the truck was on to load it, while I was loading 1 to 3 trucks at the same time. I retired with 30 years way before this system was in place so all of my coworkers had to hustle and carry thousands of pounds of freight (manually)in the trucks to be loaded as the conveyor is still moving at warp 8 speed. Ya'll have it made now!
@@ES-qu1jd YES, I did. Retired in January 2011 with a pension and living great now. My back is shot and other joints like shoulders and knees but at 68 I suppose I am still in good shape just a lot of pain daily but that is what pain meds are for.

This is long way from grabbing the parcel by opposing corners, rotating it until the label is located, reading in reverse (zip, state, city), marking parcel with a crayon, loading it, repeat...at a minimum acceptable rate (MAR) of 600 parcels per hour...Montgomery, AL hub...1988-1991
oh and my company is too cheap to throw us a Christmas party!!! I love the driving aspect and having all my favorite customers but working for UPS, they are just hell raisers. and I don't really want to leave and start at the bottom somewhere else again. I've put in 7 years!!
I worked at the Ontario, CA. I wanted to work more hours, but they just kept give 3-4 hour shifts. I didn't care about the hard work. Every night at work, I didn't see why we needed a lunch. I would have been happier to work though it, since the hours were so less. And it was sometimes boring. I would be in one of those small trunks that drove the loads out to the planes and other times, I'd just wait their in the cold waiting for something to do.
damn... @ my center, there's only one main conveyor that runs the length of the building. With a shade under 40 delivery vehicles, it's an practically a rural outpost!
You should have gotten an e-mail when your package arrives anyways. Would you expect them to actually wait for you to answer the door? They'd have to do that to every house they stopped by too. I'd prefer DHL though.
paid more for slower shipping T.T ordered Tuesday ups takes package wed@10:33AM its now Friday and its on its way now to my state main hub or local hub.... so this sucks.... ups3day isnt 3 days at all... says on time yet says expect package Monday... if i went with usps id of had my package from Oklahoma city to mesa Arizona cuz they deliver on Saturday .... FML have to keep this in mind next time less = more :/
Don't feel bad folks. I've worked at both Fedex and Ups. Both places have boxes, etc sitting on the floor for months on end. Saying something about it does nothing.
So much nicer than my facility. Two conveyors for the unload, where we have guys who scan and place on top or bottom. Which the top comes down a certain distance to the bottom so it can reach the one conveyor in the mobile area where I work now loading from 3 to 4 trucks. I was unloading and scanning until they decided to train me to preload. And the minimum they want you to scan is 600 / 650 packages per hr.
I live in the sixth floor and I 've had many problems with them because most of their delivery men are so fckn lazy to go up the stairs when the elevator isn't working. so I then have to pick up my package. I am starting to hate UPS services. IT seems that USPS does a better job.
I have used most postal carriers and have only had problems from UPS! Now instead of getting problems, if UPS try and make a delivery to me, i refuse the package and swap suppliers!!!
yes, i have mines already. I got it back way faster than i thought it would. If you sent it on Saturday than you will get it back almost the same time that you sent it to them. Remember to check your tracking number and keep calling them. Microsoft likes to hold things around.
So your saying that every single worker in the united states should just all become upper level management, marketers, accountants, etc? Human beings need jobs in order to live in an economy, the alternative would be to own your own small farm and grow food for yourself. The way I see it, the more money a company makes the more workers they can hire and the more money they can pay their employees. Not everyone can be a CEO, it unfortunately doesn't work like that.
That Hub is but the one in maumee ohio where I work at is completely different. All the unloader's packages go to a sorter... A human sorter. They read the zip code and put it on a conveyer belt that corresponds to that packages destination.
I don't think their lazy. I work for UPS before and the way their shifts are constructed is stupid. 3 to 4 hours a day. Sure those people who've worked their longer get great pay, etc., but their is no way one can live with the money their employees get unless they have another job.
@XVietAZNPrideX as a ups driver, u can use any box. Just make sure it is packaged correctly meaning use the right amount of tape and always verify the to and from address. Peace. Las vegas.
i guess DHL would take better care of your packages and give you better service cause they dont have shit to do how much can they deliver in those little vans but i guess if they ever get busy like us then it will be different
