This is a footage of rescuers going inside the nuclear evacuation zone to rescue pets.
Probably, animals are not allowed to get in shelters for human. Sad.

I would have a lot of trouble day to day, if I had left my dog in a radioactive zone. I don’t understand why they did not take the animals. It was known at the time that the areas were being evacuated due to radiation.
Wird Geladen I feel the same way!! All my pets coming with me even if I have to sleep in my car! but this people have a totally different culture and most don’t have the means to help their pets. I’m just glad for this organization trying to help, but it’s so sad to know they can’t get to all of them I’m sure 😭
Because Japanese ppl are too humble and polite they would just listen to what the government tell them to do

They evacuated and left their pets behind? No...
They didn't have a choice really. On Reddit someone posted an info post, though I think they deleted their account, explaining that if they tried bringing their pets that they wouldn't be accepted into the evacuation areas or on buses that were rescuing people. The second best thing to do would be to open doors and windows and put loads of food and water for them and hope you can get them back when it's safe. Not ideal but it was all that could be done.
