    OK. Townie here. Lolita Back Bay is a hard to find GREAT FIND on Dartmouth Street in Copley. Love this place! So glad you found it!
    Across from Sail Loft is La Mangia Calamari (The Daily Catch) is quite good. Best calamari I’ve ever had.
    UOH can be avoided if at all possible IMHO.

      Thanks for the comment! I was quite impressed with Lolita Back Bay. La Mangia Calamari sounds really good. I'll have to try it on my next trip there. I can definitely understand that about UOH - the food was pretty good, but I've had better seafood elsewhere in Boston. The history is definitely a highlight which is why I wanted to try it for myself. I did really enjoy the clam chowder, but the chowder at the Boston Sail Loft is still my favorite. Thanks for watching!

    I’m a Bostonian. I’ve lived here 60 years. I’ll die here. The best clam chowder I’ve ever had is at 621 in Malden 4 miles outside Boston. Every spoonful I literally say OMG this chowder is amazing

    As a Bostonian, spending any amount of time eating Mexican food while visiting Boston is WILD. We deliver on seafood, Italian, steak, and I’d also argue our Chinese food scene is premier. But Mexican? As a former Texan, nope. Lolita’s is cool, but more of a vibe place than a food place. I’ve tried Citrus and Salt in the Seaport and that place actually caught my attention.
    You DID nail the North End spot though. It’s impossible to get into Carmelina’s. Perfectly consistent and exactly-per-expectations food for a decent price RIGHT on the main drag of the North End (Boston’s Italian neighborhood). Can you eat better? Yes. Bricco is perfect. Will you break your bank? Yes.

      Thank you for the comment! I've been to Texas many times, so I can definitely understand that regarding the Mexican food. For Carmelina's I got lucky that I was able to get a spot period as reservations were booked for weeks, and I was able to just line up when they opened. Sure enough I got a great seat to where I was able to watch the cooks prepare the food which was neat to see.

    $35. 😮 That’s certainly a splurge. But I still order. It looked amazing. I’ve only had clam chowder in can and at Red Lobster. 😂 But I’ve never been to the New England area. I’d definitely get that when there. All these restaurants looked really good. Thanks for sharing. 😊

      It is worth it though when it is packed full of lobster and tastes fresh! I'm so glad I went there! The clam chowder in New England is the best. I refuse to get any back home in Michigan because it isn't the same, lol! Thanks for watching!

    • @fkcoolers2669
      @fkcoolers2669 6 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah $35 isn't cheap but that's close to fair market value in Boston currently, and Yankee Lobster gives you more lobster meat than some other places will.

      @@fkcoolers2669 Great to know! Yankee Lobster was quite generous with the amount of lobster which was great.

    Did you know that the Bruins waited 39 years in between Stanley Cup titles. And the Red Sox waited 86 years in between World Series titles?

    • @scottman895
      @scottman895  14 дней назад

      I did not know that about the Bruins, but I remember hearing about the "Curse of the Bambino" in the case of the Red Sox. It was great to see them break that curse!

    best restaurants in Boston according to a tourist. How can you put Union Oyster Oyster House on the best list??? Its a tourist trap with marginal food at best.

    • @scottman895
      @scottman895  День назад

      The history with the Union Oyster House still makes it a worthwhile mention especially if one is visiting. I thought the food was really good (as well as the thousands of reviews on it), but at the same time, there are other restaurants which have even better food. For example, the clam chowder at the Boston Sail Loft is still my favorite to this day even after making several trips to Boston in the past 13 years. Of course, there's always that chance too where I may find some in a different spot which is even better.
