Ben your site is amazing. I’ve learned a lot since finding your site. Thanks from Western Kentucky.
Thank you for watching! 🍻👊
Your tutorial videos are the most in depth and most informative in the industry. Looking forward to the next one.
I love fishing spinnerbaits. It and any shallow-mid reaction fishing is my favorite way to fish. Several other soft plastics that have don't too much resistance and make great trailer for burning (or for that matter in most spinnerbait situations) are Deps deathadder shad and OSP HP 3D wacky, HP minnow and action trailer.
3/4-1oz. SV-3 17-20lb line. 3/4 will roll less, keep your rod tip up, burn parallel to bank and past visible cover. Use basic zoom spinnerbait trailer will give you a little lift with less drag and a short trailer hook.
👊🍻
Great video brother with some good info.
Thank you, much love!🤙
Thanks for the tips ! I wish y'all would build a hook up tackle in FL !
I’ve seen KVD constantly snapping his rod tip while burning a spinner bait. He said the exact same thing you guys are mentioning here. Getting those blades to clack together is a big time strike inducer.
It’s a great strike inducer!
It's all about the shad. I use a Booyah double willow blase in chartreuse. Killin it brother in upstate new york with the Booyah.
My "Burning" spinnerbait for the Fall 3 years in a row has been a S-9 without the skirt and a 3.5 Keitech Easy Shinner . They try to knock the blades off it they hit it so hard lol !!!
That's the best feeling isn't it?!
@@thehookuptackle_usa Yes Sir !!!
Thanks, Ben and Jeff I always learn something new from watching your vids. Love the way you talk, "then shit just goes wrong," lol. So do you still suggest a 1/2 oz for us bank fishing guys?
Thanks Ben!!! Nice surprise on a Tuesday!!
I bought the zinx mini quarter once spinnerbait of your website the other day. The only place I could find it in good colors. Please add more 1/4, 3/16, spinnerbaits!
Is lake pleasant y’all go to lake in AZ?
Love the Warbaits, good sturdy all around Spinnerbait, runs true and kills em
This is just the video I needed
I know this is a old video but I have to wonder if burning a 1oz HP double colorodo to stay in the upper water column without jumping out of the water.. . I only wonder this because I spazzed out during a BOGO and added to cart a 1oz high pitch d.Colorado that I have no clue when a scenario will present itself that fits this spinnerbait. It's a good looking bait though. It'll look good on the garage wall until I'm yo-yoing in some gin-clear 40 ft deep water. Thanks for the video. I've been doing a deep dive in the old hookups
Excellent video 👌👌👌
Thank you for watching!
Awesome tips
Very informative!
Spinnerbait is my favorite fall/winter lure for largemouth. Slow rolling and ticking the top of grass.
I love it too!
Can you get the Imakatsu Gekiasa Shad Squarebill Crankbait in3D Real Wakasagi. It seems to be impossible to get!
Pretty funny that Ben mentions gobies in the video about burning spinnerbaits. I can’t imagine a worse goby imitation except for maybe a topwater lol. Gobies don’t have swim bladders and they hug the bottom and scoot around even when in distress.
Still a great video and burning spinnerbaits definitely catches smallmouth in goby waters
A spinnerbait doesn't look like anything in reality - it's wire and steel, and skirt. It's solely a reaction bait. So if fish are feeding on other fish, including gobies, a spinnerbait can be a good option. I'm not saying I'd fish for goby eaters in 40 feet burning a spinnerbait, but there's plenty of shallow goby eaters that a spinnerbait can trigger 👍
@@thehookuptackle_usa yea I guess it depends how much you subscribe to the match the hatch philosophy. In my head a smallie definitely thinks it’s a smelt, alewife or emerald shiner if it’s moving fast, high and flashy
@@jamesh7469 I catch smallmouth all the time on spinnerbaits that aren't feeding on any bait - only craws. They just have to be positioned correctly and of the right aggressiveness for the burning to work. It's not always the right answer, but when they eat it it's a blast!
If you were going to do this in a small lake/big pond that doesn’t have shad and bluegill is the main forage what color would you go with
I'd probably do a bluegill pattern if the water is clear, or a natural greenish tone. If the water is murky I'd probably do a chart/white combination.
my wife and I are coming from SO- Cal going to the Thursday night football game packers against Arizona
so I will be by to spend even more of my money in person this time instead of always having to ship it LOL!!!
Ben, what size Decoy Gripper are you using to keep the Plus Blade on the bait? M or L?
Went out this morning, 36 degree air temp and water temp was 45🥶 Gotta love Minnesota
That sounds terrible 🤣🍻
Holy crap. I like in Central Florida. Air temperature this morning was 75 degrees . Water temperature is 82 degrees still
Would the Levantine tour versatile make a good rod for this technique?
Yes. It’s pretty fast so you need to keep that in mind to not set the hook.
@@thehookuptackle_usa I could probably use mono to help slow down the tip as well
I have the levante tour versatile and while it does work for spinnerbait, I find the action too stiff for a spinnerbait. I use it mainly for football jigs. The p5 dark sleeper would be better for spinnerbait. In the levante line up, maybe the brailist or spec r. I dont own those yet but maybe they have a softer tip. You want a rod that you can feel the blades spinning. The T. Versatile is just too stiff to feel the blades spinning in the water.
What kind of person watches The Hook Up Tackle videos right when they're released? A sick person... lol 😆
Cheers sick person! 😜🍻
Do you think this would work at Baccarac in early December? I have trouble translating/comparing our seasons with theirs.
That's going to be pre-spawn/spawn down there. So probably slower retrieve - but you always have to be prepared for anything! I've had my best success on that lake relating to bottom and slower that time of the year, but if there's a lot of small tilapia in the shallows, paralleling banks with the fast spinnerbait can crush them.
What specs would be appropriate for spinnerbait fishing? Would a 7ft MH Fast action be appropriate?
Yes. For burning I like my rod to have a little softer tip or a little give to it. For slower fishing a faster rod is great.
Nice
Any thoughts on the diawa steez ags 2021 6'9 meduin for all around finnese fishing
For lighter stuff - jerkbaits and stuff - it’s great
@@thehookuptackle_usa thanks what reel would you pair it up with
Man we love doing this at Lake Fork!!
👊🍻
Whats a good $200 price point rod
shimano zodias, megabass levante, or st croix victory
Do you know when you're going to have some mad bulls 🐂 or super destroyers available
Mid November
Do you use line conditioner? Very informative by the way…
100%! It’s a must! Kvd line and lure
Great video Ben thanks. Why does Jeff squat like he’s going to shit and run around the boat when he’s fighting a fish lol ?
He doesn't have much stamina.
LMAO
A King doesn't need much stamina, he has servants for that junk.
Who knows what your doing when you put your hands down and BURNNNNNNN PAUSE BURNNNNN PAUSE. It makes alot more sense as to why you love it so much.
Thanks for watching man! 🤟
Most people either don’t know or don’t care that once they leave the light to go to the “dark side”; there’s no way back.🧐
The Madbull is a badass chatterbait and crankbait rod, it's fast, but softish. Idk, it's unlike any other rod I own and I'm all for it. I don't care for glass rods, I can't feel anything
Yeah, the Madbull is just, special. It’s hard to explain.
@@thehookuptackle_usa if there was one rod that could do spinner and chatter… mad bull is good at both. Just amazing
Need to have a 1v1 taco eating contest! Winner picks next bait lol
I love everything jdm, but will never throw a spinnerbait that's not a war eagle. The screamin eagle is made just for this, and it's amazing.
Too scared to lose that nice of a spinner bait so I throw the KVD version lol
Why a 5/8 over a 1/2? A rage structure bug rigged vertically as a trailer is phenomenal for bluegill bass.
Up here in ohio we are heavy in the fall I've had luck throwing a big Colorado blade med retrieve and catching big bass found out that my p5 super Destroyer is a great rod to throw spinnerbaits on
That is a great rod for spinnerbaits! I'm glad you're catching big ones on it 👍
@@thehookuptackle_usa thank u its actually a rod u recommend to me so glad I found out about you're shop
You can’t burn colorado blades
👊
So I'm guessing you aren't throwing a KVD or Booyah spinnerbait.... lol.
It dont catch fish if I dont see it catch fish. But there is a link to buy lol.
Eeehh I know that that’s bullshit and I ain’t gonna eat it anymore ... fish psychology at its best
Got anything cheaper than the madbull haha
Why not do the same with a chatterbait
You can burn anything that will let you 😜. For me, spinnerbait has way more flash and sound and burns much better.
Do the test and share your results, I’m interested in hearing. 🎣🥳
@@jamescorsiglia8997 I did today. No bites on spinner. Lots of bites burning the chatter bait. Several 3&4 pounders in highly pressured waters
