I've been using this bag for 3 years now and am very happy with it, the zippers do get stuck often but it's a price I'm willing to pay for the extra security the bag provides, and yes I know it's not completely theft proof but it's theft proof enough to bring me SOME peace of mind while traveling
Thanx for the PacSafe reviews. Unless I'm in Japan, security is one of my priorities when I travel. Loving the new hosts and the diverse points of view!
Your website ( and I think pacsafe too) mentioned that the laptop compartment is for 15" laptop. Have you physically tried 15.6" laptop at the laptop compartment? This is interesting because you mentioned it fit 16" laptop and I didn't bought this bag previously as I'm a 15.6" laptop person.
These PacSafe are pretty good, I would say you need to pair up the zipper mechanism with actual locks, even the cheap TSA ones are fine. Or else if you are standing around in a subway etc people who are familiar with the mechanism of the bag can still easily defeat the zippers. As for slashing... it works to a degree. The outside materials can be slashed easily, the steel mesh underneath is what it doesn't go thru, so if the item you keep are smaller than the wires. It will still come out, and the bag will look terrible after it got slashed.
Is the backpack also suitable for chaining/wrapping to a piece of furniture in the hostel when I leave the room? That doesn't seem to be the case, does it? I am looking for a small daypack or cross body bag - maximum 2o liters, which I can also chain with a lock somewhere in a ho(s)tel room or fence or something when I go swimming.
Another thing. Does the water bottle pouch fit nalgene 32oz bottle? is nalgene 48oz bottle stable in there (it has same diameter as 32oz i think, just taller).
Why in the world do they print the instructions on how to unlock and lock the backpack strap? It seems like it would be more secure. If they didn’t print lock/unlock on it.
Hey Isthatsherwin! We did find a couple of cons. You can check out everything on our website: packhacker.com/travel-gear/pacsafe/metrosafe-ls450-anti-theft-25l-backpack/ - Austin

i always wondered, why do people watch reviews of products they already have?
Just curious about what they have to say about it or if maybe they have any other alternatives in case I wear out the bag

I just wish they would make an ECONYL version of this bag since they made one for LS350

If the 450 backpack was too large for your needs, smaller versions were available.

What is the length of your back ? I’m a short female but wondering if our back length is similar. Thanks
Lauren is 5’6” (168 cm) and has a torso length of 16.5” (42 cm)

Does this bag have a luggage strap?
No, it doesn't
