Her texture is fine and medium 🫠 her surface texture is probably rougher because it is dry and brittle. Her hair is not coarse. People get this wrong and it grinds me.

It’s everything in their method that is causing it. The shampoo is number 1, frequently washing hair, no leave in, no oils, no dc, sitting under hair dryer frequently, all that pulling and tugging on hair for wash n gos. The whole method has to go.
That's not what emulsify means. Conditioner and gel have already been emulsified. They say is to sound smart, but they’re incorrect. Maybe the mean lather or evenly distribute, but it's not emulsify.
@Jazzerbean You actually shouldn't be rubbing the shampoo in your hands before you put it on the scalp. It removes of the surfactant binding power to the dirt and oil in your scalp (as you are wasting it on your hands). If she is worried about it stripping the hair too much she should: 1.use a less harsh shampoo 2. be putting the shampoo directly on the scalp/roots FIRST(as it should be). Then working the suds into the length of the hair.

Re watching it with how she was really on the phone and talking in circles is even worse. And I wanted to mention how dry af those curls looked, but she seemed happy with it so I held my damn tongue.

The shampoos are too strong and the omission of products/stylers that reinforce the hair...you know the ones with the oils and butters is the entire issue. Now if we throw in some gradual hair eating styling gel - DISASTER. So like I said in Jenn's live the damage would have still happened even with the inclusion of oils & butters only slower because the bottom line is these products have harmful ingredients that damage hair and are nothing but trashtastic "salon quality" products. I vote it's the shampoo. Any clarifying shampoo (and I will include moisturizing shampoo) will give me sporadic itchiness and 1-2 days later dry hair. And no deep conditioner and/or rich leave-in conditioner compensates. It's as if shampoo totally removes something, such that even an oil cannot correct. The only thing I've found to fix it, in my opinion, and for my hair, is to redo wash day - however you want to call it, cleanse, condition, style - by using a co-wash, then applying my conditioner and styling product. Truth be told I've always experienced this even when my hair was relaxed and getting shampoos.
It's important to understand cosmetic chemistry and not just assess ingredients on a surface level. There are many products that contain sodium hydroxide but in very minimal amounts it's used as a pH adjuster
Which lady? The client? You will also notice that she convinced Aishia to cut her hair from a blowout and didn't let her style it in a wash n go. She also doesn't go to her consistently so maybe that's why it looks so good

I have, but it was a long time ago. Good suggestion. When I'm at the store I'll look up Neutrogena, Head and Shoulders and Nizoral.
