My daily driver is a 1976 Cremina, I love it. I also own an amazing 1971 La Pavoni, another work of art

fun fact, the earlier creminas came with a funnel, a milk pitcher and a plastic bowl for flushing and cleaning baskets in. The entire boiler is covered in friable asbestos in the early models which can be a trouble. If anyone is getting into these machines I recommend pavoni over cremina due to he ability to replace everything much cheaper and easier. I love my cremina it looks superb but over my pavoni i dont see that big of an advantage. with the extra cash one can buy pressure profiling kit and nicer silicone gaskets, grouphead isolator and cooler plate and even pid if desired

The more water you pull through the group the hotter the group (and the hotter the brewing temperature) will be. This is the opposite of a heat exchanger machine where flushing water makes the group and brew cooler. If you want a cooler brew temperature, flush less or let the machine stabilize on its own.

Loving these Cremina vids, Pedro. They are true Coffee Zen to use. Be at one with your machine! Are you going to be restocking them at Coffee Parts?

      Yes, soon!
Filming them reminded me just how much I love them.
      And restocking the parts too!

i have owned a cremina since mid 1980's bought new for about 360usd. also have owned a slew of other machines, lever, and electric pump, home, prosumer, commercial as well as la pavoni and la faemina legacy model. IMO and perspective it is just a home lever machine although it has turned into "cult of cremina" it is far the the worlds best espresso machine and 1985 dollars today is realistically 1,100 today.

There's not a single review about the Cremina SL. I would love a comparison between the Cremina SL and LM Micra.

      I don't own a Cremina SL otherwise I would film it :)

Best espresso coffee machine in the world!!! That’s a big claim…. How does it compare to “Not the best” Profitec pro 800?

I think the New York Times said that back in the 80s before machines like the Profitec existed.

I love all lever machines but you don't have 100% the control with spring machines
I still want to buy a strega thought

At about 4:30 in this vid, you comment on the pre 1982 seals being presumably sub standard. I’ve listen to this 1/2 dozen times and can’t make out the word you are using though. Can someone tell me please?

In the earlier models, the seals had asbestros in the fiber, which was common of all seals manufactured in the 70/80s regards-less of machine brand. These fibers are not great for our lungs when breathed in, and when removing gaskets as they can disintegrate we could breathe it. I'm personally always careful when rebuilding older machines.
