I'm pretty sure it's based on measurements? Just put the measuring tape around your head and it's your choice on how tight or loose you want it to be. After checking, you should mark the number or write it down and chain enough to reach the measurement! ^°^

i just started crocheting yesterday and i think of this too. i think that 73 chains are to small to fit my head so i decided to make 93 chains and i ended up making a big one. so I'm here to make a new one again and do 73 ch instead 😅😅😅😅

that works!! i personally always use a bigger hook and pull the yarn after each stitch to tighten it a bit!

yes! the no. of chains actually depends on the size of the head. try wrapping the chain around ur head and leave about half an inch allowance ;)

Stich markers are usually used to know where the first stich is, so when you want to count you can easily find it
