My main issue with head trackers opposed to VR is that I am worried that I would need more than one monitor which I sadly do not have the space for. But thanks to videos like this, I am gaining more confidence in said devices
"the fun part of DCS is constantly messing with settings" is the truest statement ive ever heard. ive followed tons of tutorials for this game but the one thing thats not explained is the defiinitions of each setting. i dont know what canter weapon left means or half the shit ive changed. lololol
Thank you for this. This tutorial is awesome, gotta try this out. I havent played flight sim for a while and this my escuse to get back to it :) Thanks man!
How can I import my head movements into opentrack? Aitrack and opentrack both recognise my movements but when I try to use both of them at once, it doesn’t work.
no need to high resolution, but high fps helps (most webcams are 30fps, a 60fps is helpful). It'll only work in a dark room if your cam is really good (like if you se your cellphone or a DSLR as a webcam)
Unfortunately for whatever reason OPEN TRACk doesn't work most of the time for me. I set it up, it opened the camera view once, and ever since the initial install I get the "cannot open OSB virtual camera" error. Free is nice, but it is not worth the headach when there are nearly free alternatives out there that work 100% of the time
you just need to select the right camera in open track. OBS virtual camera is another "webcam" simulated by OBS (video record software you might have installed). Once set up and proper dialed in webcam tracking is near as perfect as IR Tracking
PLEASE HELP ME i downloaded and set up the same way but aitrack is lagging rlly bad and only gets like 1 fps and it makes it make my games unplayable, is there a fix for this
I actually use this and I was skeptical at first but... it actually works. I can move the camera the way I need it to without issue.
Glad it worked for you
Hey! I just got into DCS, now I just really want to thank u, because u saved me a lot of money!
The amount of money you can spend on dcs is outrageous, so saving anywhere is good.
Glad you found this helpful

you can increase sensitivity in open track, but it may not be great that way because i’m not sure how accurate this is

Great overview of head tracking for flight sims!
Thanks!

In the video the "input" in opentrack is "UDP over network". I changed mine to that and it started working.
TRACKIR doesnt show up in my DCS Settings...
Hey, great video man! Does it work with headphones as well?
Yeah, I usually have headphones on while playing with no issues
How high resolution does the cam need to have, and how does it work in a darker room with only the screen as lighsource? =)
Did you ever test this? And if so what game? I’m looking to play war thunder

PSST.
Protip: The TrackIR head-mounted infra-red emitter is actually inferior to the cap-clip.
So don't ever bother buying it. Just get the clip.
I have track it 5 and just got a webcam. Working on adjusting the webcam for head tracking . Not sure what one I’m going to like
I downloaded the most recent version of AI tracker. And the zip doesnt contain a .exe file. Any idea why?
Second this, I also have no .exe
Its your antivirus, the app its in the contention site, search it in the antivirus
You downloaded the source code.
Will it work in racing games like Assetto corsa competizione?
Yes, I did get it to work with assetto Corsa
yours work so smoothly but with mine its so jittery, my webcam is a logitech c922 pro stream as well
You have to play with the axis curves in dcs. It took a bit of tinkering before I got it perfect. Also make sure you have good lighting.
@@informalllama yep just figured it all out and now it’s working well!
@@AyoItsJonn awesome! Happy flying
Do you need 60fps or you can use a 30fps cam ?

Ty for the recommendation! Are there any privacy issues regarding this software?
Will this consume my PC resources? If so i guess is not a good idea since i barely run the game
How did you got the other program here? I only have the one in the right, checked for .exe's on both folders downloaded but it;s just AItrack.exe
How do I install things from github?
PLEASE HELP ME i downloaded and set up the same way but aitrack is lagging rlly bad and only gets like 1 fps and it makes it make my games unplayable, is there a fix for this
May i say i love u lmao i no longer have to burn money for track ir to come asll across the world
indeed lmao, my webcam was like 20 bugs and I have decent monitor lights its completely worth using lmao trackir kinda feels like a ripoff
Nice video! Keep it up dude, worked for me ❤️
Does this work with smooth track on phone instead of a webcam?
Thank you very much for sharing this info!
open track failed to open my camera and wont track, what do i do?
It might be being used for a different program, you can only use the webcam for one program at a time
I wonder if this works for WT too
Is that any webcam can do the track? Or any webcam recommend?
I started using a Logitech c910 and then a c920. But anyone will work. Just make sure you have good lighting
@@informalllama thank you for your recommendation, seem c920 is a choice for me,as my whole set of pc are Logitech 😂
Super...hat mir sehr geholfen. Vielen 👍🤟
I cannot find the executable files for either of the programs? the video is great though!
This is awesome, thank you :)
I have only one question. How can i reduce input lag?
It's beyond me, honestly. But I have found that being well lit helps detection.
Are these softwares CPU Hogs?
Barely noticeable on both my new and old setup.
How can i use this in War Thunder?
Works fine with 12 year old webcam
Hi did anyone try it out with War thunder?
Does this work for ARMA?
I don't know for sure but if it supports trackir it's worth a shot
how do i download it from the link
If you scroll down to the installation instructions it has a link to the release page
very useful when you dont have a webcam lmao
1:26 USSR jumpscare
I serve the Soviet Union!
no webcam :,(
You can usually find them cheap used. Doesn't have to be a fancy one.
I DONT HAVE A TRACKIR COLUMN
me too
Thanks :)
thx llama
Too many glitches. Too rough movements, low accuracy.
TrackIR is much better.
for AI track ?
does it work with MSFS?
Does this work with msfs?
Yes, tried it yesterday.
does this work for arma?
