    I've got a couple broccoli plants entering their 4th summer. They have sprawled and put up several meals of small heads and provide greens all year long. I think the stems root for propagating as well, my reserarch is still out on that. I've expected more to come back from seed but they don't seem to be naturalizing.

    John thanks for the video. I am now to the point that I need to look at juicing and other ways to put up the food I grow. I use most of the methods you have shown in your videos! I have more food than I can eat.

    Is it best to.compost the pulp or use a small amount of the pulp to ferment chicken feed?

    • @growingyourgreens
      @growingyourgreens  Год назад +1

      Feed it to chickens and then compost their poop :) and feed to compost directly. I encourage compost diversity, just like diet diversity

    I like to sauté all greens. It’s some thing I learned from my mother. I’m not sure how you feel about bacon take two strips streaky bacon chop it up roughly throw it in a skillet. Cook it down rough chop your greens throw in the stems first give them about two minutes, then throw in the greens sauté until wilted to your liking. I eat this fairly regularly and it helps me make use of all edible greens. ❤

      @@bpfsu to each their own I have three daughters one is complete carnivore one is vegetable matter only and the other I’m just happy if we can get her to eat my vegetarian daughter likes to do this with plant-based butter, or olive oil and lightly sauté them down heavy on the garlic and onions. Annie greens can be prepared that way.

    Juicing cauliflower leaves? Thanks to you John, I learn something new everyday, but I like cooked greens so this is another possibility and I've heard some people making slaw with broccoli leaves and the "trunk", would this also be possible for cauliflower leaves? Thanks for sharing John, 👍and greetings👋from central Mexico.🤠🥬🥬

    in social media's low attention span world, i think these 20-25 minute videos are a pretty good length in general. Anything lower may compromise the laid back atmosphere, and any longer (unless its a tour video), wouldn't last in the average person's attention span.
