I used to watch all of your videos - you helped me get into growing.. thank you so much for that, John. I haven't seen your videos in a while and thought of you the other day... so happy to see your video on my feed!!!! Best wishes to you in your life. You're awesome
zone 3b and end of July, we have gotten many heads of broccoli, and now onto side shoots, just starting with cauliflower....have previously composted the rest of cauliflower plant, but now will try blanching/freezing to see if will provide a nice Winter meal. thanks for all you do!
I've got a couple broccoli plants entering their 4th summer. They have sprawled and put up several meals of small heads and provide greens all year long. I think the stems root for propagating as well, my reserarch is still out on that. I've expected more to come back from seed but they don't seem to be naturalizing.
John thanks for the video. I am now to the point that I need to look at juicing and other ways to put up the food I grow. I use most of the methods you have shown in your videos! I have more food than I can eat.
I like to sauté all greens. It’s some thing I learned from my mother. I’m not sure how you feel about bacon take two strips streaky bacon chop it up roughly throw it in a skillet. Cook it down rough chop your greens throw in the stems first give them about two minutes, then throw in the greens sauté until wilted to your liking. I eat this fairly regularly and it helps me make use of all edible greens. ❤
@@bpfsu to each their own I have three daughters one is complete carnivore one is vegetable matter only and the other I’m just happy if we can get her to eat my vegetarian daughter likes to do this with plant-based butter, or olive oil and lightly sauté them down heavy on the garlic and onions. Annie greens can be prepared that way.
Juicing cauliflower leaves? Thanks to you John, I learn something new everyday, but I like cooked greens so this is another possibility and I've heard some people making slaw with broccoli leaves and the "trunk", would this also be possible for cauliflower leaves? Thanks for sharing John, 👍and greetings👋from central Mexico.🤠🥬🥬
in social media's low attention span world, i think these 20-25 minute videos are a pretty good length in general. Anything lower may compromise the laid back atmosphere, and any longer (unless its a tour video), wouldn't last in the average person's attention span.
I have not been following you for a while, What and since when did you decide to start eating cooked food? Was there any real reason as to why making such a big change.
Thanks. I am always looking for ways to improve my speaking skills. 'm no professional speaker, just a guy trying to share my passion of gardening and eating healthy with others. All my videos are 100% spontaneous with no scripts.

Is it best to.compost the pulp or use a small amount of the pulp to ferment chicken feed?
Feed it to chickens and then compost their poop :) and feed to compost directly. I encourage compost diversity, just like diet diversity

He’s a raw vegan, so probably not going to cook them and definitely not going to use bacon.
I didn’t know he was vegan that’s cool

Hi John: I’m a beginner in zone 6b. Do you have any tips against mushroom growth? The humidity is the worse.
Wayy cool thanks

The best, Thank you.😅
Good stuff I’m not a vegetarian but I love to incorporate both sides of the table. Gotta have good gut health.

5:38 am startled at the extremely tiny size of your cauliflower....mine are about 3 or 4 ft tall....why are yours so itty bitty????

My biggest problem are slugs atm
I use sluggo when snails and slugs get bad.

Where did you get that shirt? If I knew you were in town, we could have met up for lunch or something ~ ~ LOL! "If you don't have teeth..."
trade show :)
I chopped them and boiled them until they became just soft enough for my teeth, then salt and voila!
$550 too steep for my budget wow
You basically say basically way too often
