The new devices include new gyroscopes and accelerometers. The ones in the older models don’t have the range of force measurement to accurately detect a car crash.
They changed the sensors and gyroscope to measure certain amounts of force and trained it of when it may be a severe crash
what m if i accidentally press call sos when i dropped it downstairs and was playing car crash sounds and blowing in to the barometer at the same time

Will this work on motorcycle riders ?
We can provide some insight on using Crash Detection. This feature cannot detect all car crashes. Crash Detection is designed to detect severe car crashes-such as front-impact, side-impact, and rear-end collisions, and rollovers-involving sedans, minivans, SUVs, pickup trucks, and other passenger cars.
You can read more about this feature and how it works in the link here: s.apple.com/DH2W7d7vN3

Thx for helping witch my iPhone 14 pro and Apple Watch ultra 🍎
Please put this on iphone 11 on a newer ios
Imagine having crash detection enabled on Ryanair
Good feature
1:38 that sounds like the old siri voice
pls apple active this feature in middle east countries
This is such a great feature an another reason why I will only buy Apple products. I got into a head on crash and my car was hit so bad it made the car battery disconnect so the only automatic 911 call was from my iPhone an watch.. Luckily I wasn't seriously injured and Apple made sure emergency services was called. Between Kia making great safe cars and iPhone automatic crash detection I am VERY thankful to be alive.
What is the background song?
I actually like small things like the phones and Apple Watch I have
old siri voice???

The fact its not on older iphones
I was involved in a wrong way driver accident on June 20th. A wrong way driver collided with my father and I going over 100 MPH. Siri hit me with this when I woke up. So I started hearing voices thinking I was dead🤦🤦🤦
Absolutely brilliant, one of the many reasons I love apple so much is innovating life changing and now life saving products and services as well.
pixel has it since 2019.
I would like a comparison with android crash detection please.
can crash detection call 112 instead of 911
We’d be happy to clear things up. Emergency service calls in some countries or regions might require a manual input, such as “Press 1 for….“
Crash Detection cannot automatically select the menu option to complete emergency service notification, but your emergency contacts are still notified.
