- Crash Detection on your iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Ultra is designed to detect if you’ve been in a severe car crash in a passenger vehicle. And, if you’re unresponsive after the crash, it can alert emergency services and your emergency contacts for you.

A few days ago I was in a car crash that nearly killed me, but I survived with minor bruises and stuff. Will spend a month at home recovering.
I own an Apple Watch SE and iPhone 14 pro max. Both detected an accident. Watch started calling emergency services while I was out and people were dragging me out of my wrecked car. I didn’t respond to the call, just heard someone speaking on my wrist. Then they recalled and I answered on my phone confirming that I needed help.
My iPhone has sent emergency messages to my contacts and they arrived at the place.
Thank you Apple❤
I have my language set to another one which is not the primary on my country. Do you know if it would call the emergency services I have selected in my region?
@@wissy0062whatever language or whatnot u have, it will always call services closest to you!
@@wissy0062have you figured it out?
Great feature, I didn’t know this feature existed until I was in a severe car accident a few hours ago. Automatically called 911 because my phone went flying. We were all ok, no injuries.
Glad ur ok
1. Glad ur ok
2. Your phone got to experience what airplane mode is like
Same with me when I got into a car accident earlier today
@@gerryguillen8305 hope you and your family are ok!
My bicycle slipped badly and this feature got activated. I was so impressed....really an amazing feature
I was in an accident last week, and it worked as it should have.
I got into a side-impact crash today and now I'm thinking of getting an iPhone. I had to dial 911 manually on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. This could have came in handy.
You do know that the Samsung Galaxy phones have the option to automatically dial 911 when sliding the phone icon right and tapping emergency calls, right? You don't have to manually dial anything.
@@juanzarate4862 thats still more work
@@juanzarate4862that is still kinda manual.
Or he can get a iPhone and not have to do any of that you know where you at? Juan? This Apple page… we would love to welcome another iPhone brother or sister ❤
Fun Fact: Crash detection went off when people were on rollercoasters
It still does
😮😢 No I want this phone.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah, I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max
I fell down a hill and this feature popped up and I busted out laughing 😂
Do You Have To Manually Turn It On On iPhone 7 or is it not available at all for iPhone 7?
epic for iphone 14 pro but what about se 1st gen
Seems like a pretty interesting feature!
So well thought out! Thank you. It’s certainly a feature we hope to never ever need, but it’s there if we do.
what m if i accidentally press call sos when i dropped it downstairs and was playing car crash sounds and blowing in to the barometer at the same time
What happens if the watch/phone breaks?
As a NYC first responder, Ive responded to multiple instances like these and it the most annoying and frustrating thing to locate a crash like this. We can almost never find it, without a call back or someone else calling as well.
Really? What was it like?
So now we have five ways to automatically call 911, fall/crash detection on Apple Watch, crash detection on iPhone, hold to call on iPhone/Apple Watch, and 5 click on iPhone.
that's truely an amazing an life-saving feature!
Great!!! Once I was in a rear end car crash and it freaked me out. Thanks. Hope I’ll never have to use this!
Does emergency SOS via satellite automatically play if you’re in a car crash and there’s no Wi-Fi or cellular data
Dammm this is soooo cool! This really feels like a grasp from 10 years in the cute 🔥🔥🤩
This really helps, thanks!
I sure hope I never have to use this, but it's great to have
Can’t wait to test it out!
please fix this issue IOS 16 update after unable to download and update AppStore and battery drain 4% in 2 mint fixed issue. Urgent priority basic
To be honest, 1:38 when Siri can contact the emergency services, it would be much helpful when we are out, cause we can’t contact the emergency services. But how did apple do that? I’m like so surprised.
I would like a comparison with android crash detection please.
Does it work on iPhone 15?
I think having the dynamic island to disappear while playing games or watching movies will be so cool. So, please put the Face ID system and the front facing camera under the display, so that this can be possible.
Does this work on race cars if you wrecked
4/28/24 @ 2:58 am is when I found out about this feature. I was in a pretty bad accident and couldn’t move or barely speak. So thankful for this feature
Thanks I am going out to try it

Is this enabled for people 65 and up, like the Apple Watch's Fall Detection?
Great question, and one we’d like to help answer. Crash Detection is enabled by default for everyone using the following devices:
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 16.1
Apple Watch Series 8
Apple Watch SE (2nd generation)
Apple Watch Ultra with watchOS 9.1
You can turn the feature off in Settings > Emergency SOS. Here’s a link with more details about Crash Detection: s.apple.com/DH2W7d7vN3

What if a man is hitter by a car, will it be triggered?
Weirdly effective
Just a question, does it work if I’m a passenger in a vehicle and is it going to work on public buses?
Hi there, we’d be happy to assist. We have some helpful info on the Crash Detection feature here: s.apple.com/DH2W7d7vN3
On there it’ll help to note, “Crash Detection is designed to detect severe car crashes-such as front-impact, side-impact, and rear-end collisions, and rollovers-involving sedans, minivans, SUVs, pickup trucks, and other passenger cars.”
If you happen to need additional help, please feel free to reach out to us here: apple.co/GetSupport
Does it work motor bike crash
What's the language of the call if we change country for a vacation? Does it adapt to the new country?
Thank you for reaching out. You have come to the right place for assistance. Changing the region is separate from changing the language on your phone. Unless you change the language, it will remain the same. Now, if you get a phone call, the language would be whatever the person calling is speaking.
@@applesupport I'm taking about the recorded message, will it be always the same or does it change based on the current country even if i didn't change the language ?
How does it know the difference between a crash and just being dropped ?
Hi there, we want to help with your question. Sensors and microphones on your device can be used to detect possible car crashes. If you’d like, you can read more under the “Crash Detection and privacy” section here: s.apple.com/DH2W7d7vN3 If you have more questions, please reach out to us here: apple.co/GetSupport

Will this feature work if riding a motorcycle?
If not I think this would be a great implementation as those involved in a motorcycle accident would benefit from ever additional second sooner that emergency services can arrive.
Thanks for reaching out. We’re happy to offer some guidance.
The Crash Detection feature is specifically designed to detect severe car crashes-such as front-impact, side-impact, and rear-end collisions, and rollovers-involving sedans, minivans, SUVs, pickup trucks, and other passenger cars.

sick,
Love this feature, tho it keeps going off on rollercoasters and overwhelming nearby 911 dispatchers.
Amazing feature that really gonna save lives
I love samsung and apple equally (samsung a little more), but this is great safety tech. Maybe samsung should take notes and hop on the safety train.
What happens if I’m not quite dead in a serious crash but can’t talk to emergency services? Hey Siri?
We can explain how Crash Detection works if you are not able to communicate.
When a severe crash is detected, an alarm sounds and an alert is displayed.
You can choose to call emergency services or dismiss the alert.
If you do not respond to the alert, emergency services are automatically called.
If you’ve added emergency contacts, a message to share your location is also sent to let them know you have been in a severe car crash.

Iʼm not a big fan of Apple, but this concept is priceless as it can be life-saving. Thanks to the talented philanthropists who developed this for this feature.
Glad this is a thing but I feel this should've been a long time ago
AYO I have anything I got an iPhone X and iPhone SE and an iPad 7 and Apple Watch se
Also, a siren will sound 3 times will sound when you’re in a crash.
I actually like small things like the phones and Apple Watch I have
I love how the bots tell 911 that the owner is in a crash and didn’t respond.
Why this couldn’t be a software update on older devices like the 13 or at least the devices with an iPhone 11 and later
If I have a new iPhone but old Apple Watch, will crash detection work?
Hi there! We want to help. Crash Detection will work on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models. You don’t need to have both a compatible iPhone 14 model and compatible Apple Watch for Crash Detection to work. Check out more information here: s.apple.com/DH2W7d7vN3 If you need more help, please reach out to us here: apple.co/GetSupport
@@applesupport, thank you for reply! If I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and wearing old Apple Watch, I will see crash alert on an iPhone or on Apple Watch? And also, I hope nobody will ever have to use this feature.
@@AppleFan-md9sp *I think your phone will call the emergency services because the new phones can detect a car crash and it’s not needed to transfer the call to the watch, especially when the phone has louder speakers, and better microphone. So simple put. Your phone will detect the crash and call emergency services. Have a great day!*

well what happens if you are skateboarding and you crash or fall?? will this thing get triggered?
Most likely not, unless you were going absurdly fast and ran into a brick wall.
Skateboards typically cannot safely go at a speed that would produce high enough G-force to be recognized as a crash.
