When picking a piece to perform this week, I went for something reflective of the events going on in my life currently, and lately I've been having thoughts on the cycle of life. Nothing is harder than losing a loved one at a moment's notice, yet it is an inevitable part of time that we all experience at some point in our lives. When somebody passes away, and another being born into this world, both of which I have to brace myself for personally, I knew this piece would be the right choice. In Super Mario Galaxy, the endgame story has a similar arc of loss and birth, and was a beautiful illustration of the cycle of life on a very grand scale.

An absolutely beautiful cover of an already beautiful song. I only played galaxy somewhat recently, but I still have a lot of nostalgia for it because I first played it during the time I really started to get into Nintendo. I never heard this song during my playthrough, but its similarity to Rosalina in the Observatory still makes me feel nostalgic for it. Incredible work!!
