    For the texture method, I did similar thing in UE before, but the texture itself was done in Adobe Illustrator when I was working in a company. The Blender method is absolutely brilliant and more accessible to people who can't afford Adobe's subscription fee.

    I was trying to recreate such progress bar as in Battlefield1, when you're capturing the objective. It cool to know more ways to implement this. Thank you for sharing.

    Just remember DDX / DDY doesn't work on (Android?) Mobile devices.

      Ive always found DDX/DDY to be super unreliable as to where the pixel quads start :(

      Ah, that's good to know, ty for the info. I was not aware of that. I got to admit mobile is definitely not my main priority... 😬

      @@ghislaingirardot I updated my comment to highlight Android specifically which is where I have seen the complaints and the fact the 4.6 release notes say they added DDX/DDY to Metal Shaders.

      @@shannenmr To be totally honest, I always thought you were using the wrong engine if you were shipping to mobile... :| That's why I never think about UE's technical limitations on mobile. Other engines provide a far better experience with mobile imho

    why no one explains why game creators sells the game on steam under the company name?? why is that, how it works etc. all making games, but no one talks about that.
