I did drop my instrument before I got my violin. I used to drop my first instrument, the guitar a lot. The violin is debatable whether it belongs in the 2nd or 3rd place because there was a ukulele in the common room at my school and I practiced it every day until the students got annoyed and got it removed I guess. When I first got my guitar and went to my first and last music classes, and for a couple of years after that, I did not practice at all. The guitar teacher just ended up quitting. I had only learnt the basics. I guess everyone as children used to expect to go to their first music classes and instantly or somewhat instantly expect to play their favorite music really well without much practice. Nowadays, I'm a lot different from that and practice my instruments 3 days a week due to still having school and schoolwork and other interests as well, but mainly school. Only if I had a work at home, self employed job that I was interested in, that would be really nice

The piece at 4:01 is Fauré: Pavane, Op. 50
Thought I'd comment this since I spent half an hour trying to find it.
Imagine- The next video with Ray Chen: "Hello guys, welcome to ThreeSetViolin"
We can hope
@@foxjacket hope deez nuts
Okay, imagine that...then hilary just pops out of nowhere and says "Foursetviolin!!!!"
@@12christopher25 That gonna be a freaking full of *entertainment* video right there! ☆⌒(ゝ。∂)
I love how Ray's accent comes back lol
I love how Ray has achieved a balance between roasting them and just being a violin god while still seeming genuinely humble and self aware
this video is my comfort video ray is such a lil schemer
I'm so glad ThreeSetViolin is back-
Thank you Twoset for helping us to get to know Ray better.
"Never have I ever messed up an important solo"
12:54 RAY GASLIGHTING BRETT
"I mean I heard about it, all the way in America"
Lmao I can't. Too savage.
Also both the "finish the melody" and this video, Ray looks great in the TS apparel.
I laughed way too hard at Eddy thinking Ray was telling the truth.
@@carolhayes7750 ME TOO, and the alert sound edit there just made it so much better 😂
This has become like my comfort video, they kind of remind me of kind uncles gossiping at a kopitiam haha. Love their chemistry together, and I'll be always looking forward to the next collab with Ray~
You guys provide a great service of light entertainment with education in a time when society needs it.
thank you
Rookies... Whenever I have a crush on a musician, I compose a piece for their instrument accompanied by piano (my instrument) and play it with them.
OK, you win the game... 😄
@@MissTwoSetEncyclopedia I've had a crush on a flutist, a clarinetist and a singer. Now I have pieces for piano and flute, piano and clarinet, and piano and voice. No success so far, but I'm gonna keep trying. 🙃
@@late8641 LOL, at least you're improving your composing skills. 😅
@@MissTwoSetEncyclopedia That's true, so I feel like I can't lose with this technique.
Ray be finishing that tea while the chat goes on regardless of the game😂
10:45 Yeah it's a classic teacher trick. Instead pushing to train/practice more they reverse it and say you to quit or look as they gave up on you. After that you motivate yourself and overcome the challenge better. I had same with both musical teacher and gym trainer lol
what i learned: ray is smooth in whatever he does 🙌
I like how they just called ray ‘an aged senior’😂😂
(Sorry ray we still love you!)
Especially since he's only 3 years older than Brett ! 😄
I love that once you've been watching twoset for long enough you start to recognise some of their anecdotes that they've talked about before lol. Not that I mind, I think its awesome. Would love more vids like this, causally chatting about musical experiences with other musicians.
8:15 accountability, praise/encouragement, friendly competition. good point, I agree
I rarely hear Ray sounding so Australian and I'm living for that
Bruh. As a Belgian music lover and kinda violin player I know of Ray Chen because he won our annual music competition in 2007 (Queen Elizabeth). This man is beyond the best of them.
12:27 that is a genuine WHAT?!
Haha
How the hell does that happen? How do you poop your pants as an adult? That’s crazy bruh
Yay! I have been waiting for this ever since Eddy said they are filming another video with Ray in the previous video 😁
4:01
I want a "most romantic pieces to get your crush's attention"list 😂😭
You can check their video "How to serenade a girl with the violin", there are quite good recommendations. 😊
I really live their friendship, they‘re actually like the ultimate violin squad 😂😂😂
Watching this on laptop while listening to Ray practice - will tease him whenever there is a chance (anti distraction practice)
Woah what
0:16
"Aged senior's" expression
Absolutely love your dynamic in this trio
i dont play an instrument but i relate so much to eddy regarding anxiety. he's an incredible violinist, it's just so hard to manage anxiety and nerves sometimes
"who?? whose concert?? 😡" 9:53"
6:38 Joel, or whatever his name is, wants to watch the world burn. Please find him so I may congratulate him.
3:55 I cannot imagine going to work with such expensive things, I don't think I could do it
My 3 favourite violinists to watch in the dame place!?? Amazing 10/10
I have a suggestion
Do a reaction video for non-western composers' classical pieces(like turkish or Asian)and these pieces will be selected by your fans
My recommendation for the arab composers (I am Arab)
Will be al-sharq symphony by marcel khalifa (Istanbul orchestra recording first movement)
and the second symphony by abu bakr khairat (first movement)
Note: sorry for my bad English
Another note: please like and comment if and only if you liked the idea, so they can see my comment
(if you know any classical piece by a non-western composer let us know in the comments)
That's a good idea! Im arab too btw
👍
This is a cool idea. I wanna hear some Balkan music too.
♥️👍🏻
good idea
Oh, how I love these guys! ❤
more Ray content lamfjsjjg 👁 also the fact that Eddy called him an aged senior or smth 😭😭
I know I’m very late to watching this video, however I haven’t seen a comment about how Eddy was reliving his trauma at the end of the video. Like are you okay Eddy? Do you need more boba tea.
Side note: Love you guys!!!! Come to Dallas, Texas in the United States. I would love to see y’all preform.
11:03 - It's funny, because everytime he says "doctor" he goes chinese-ier
Refreshing. Smart and funny.
i don't understand how you guys pump out content at this speed i'm genuinely baffled!! that's hard work and i appreciate you!
There is no way I could love this more. 16 minutes of stories with Ray in Oz mode is a happy 16 minutes
Damn im just finding out how sassy/smooth/ and sly Ray Chen is, purposely forgets his violin to play his teachers, entices the celloist by asking to play chamber music and makes smart remarks to his concert master haha
