Lukas Praninskas Literally me yelling it at my tv screen as I watched this haha, I'm so glad people were there that appreciate Trent as much as we do haha
As a big NIN fan I wish Corey would do a studio recording of this. He's a great vocalist and would do it justice.... it's all about despair breaking into rage/frenzy
I dont know abt anyone else, but I was thoroughly bummed with Stone Sours song selection for their covers album. Shouldve posted 100 songs, then let fans pick 20 from that list that theyd want to hear. That woulda been cool. Either way, Im glad they eveb did an album of covers. A lot of bands either can't musically pull it off or think theyre too good or cool for covers.
one of the best concerts of my life was NIN and A PERFECT CIRCLE opening!! I saw them right after the official CD release!!! When Trent did "Hurt," myself along with much of the crowd were in tears..Working at the biggest, local, independent music store was the best, fuckin unbelievably epic jobs of my life and I was able to see a ton of great bands.
Dallas and Houston I got backstage for Houston because my brother worked at nothing records in Nola at time and I hung out with robin from nin before show great times

NIN Does it best BUT Corey is AMAZING !! In fact with Corey singing it it reminds me so much of how much I Love My Husband who passed away in 08.. Every word of this song is in my soul.. tnt4-ever............
All the criticisms have some validity, but are overshadowed by the last minute, from the 5:00 mark on, during which Corey Taylor delivers the most passionate minute in acoustic live performance history ...
I'm assuming you've never watched Nirvana's MTV Unplugged. Kurt is extremely passionate at many times during that concert, which is why it is known as one of the best live performances ever.
u can tell in the other songs corey is a bit annoyed by those really loud drunks in the back lol he even said he is glad he doesn't drink anymore and appreciated it when they were quiet at the beginning lol...
Corey Tayor you are head anfmd shoulders above all vocalist/ singr/ sonhwriter af the last 4 decades. Thouhh in rhe fact you have the best yet obsucurs covers. I hope you live many more your years and joy to you true hard fands. Bow to the king of modern rock.
Half want the croud to be loud, half want them to shut up. The question then becomes... What is proper crowd etiquette? Loud with showing energy or quiet with being respectful?
This song is one that inspired Corey to write 'Bother'.. The only thing that's lame is the fact that you cannot appreciate where an artist finds his inspiration.
i love this song and i think corey is an amazingly talented singer but for some reason i dont think this works as well as most of the other songs hes covered. i wish he would have had someone play a piano during this performance since its a big part of what gives the song the emotion on the original.
I was just saying the crowd and guitar can easily be taken away for me. Corey's vocals do it justice. A piano added would be terrific. Just really not a fan of the guitar on this song, my favorite song.
Lacey actually murders this in a great way emotion wise. I mean. Its brutal. Her version and Trent's still version are so fucking powerful I can't even fathom where that has to come from.
Rarely does anyone get the pain in their voice that Trent gets and it loses emotion in the songs. Johnny Cash pulled it off with Hurt, and that was brilliant. Hat's off to Corey for a great attempt, and he did get a bit of it at the end, but it just didn't hit that raw emotional nerve for me.
I love Corey, Slipknot, Stone Sour but as being a huge Trent and NIN fan it shows you he can’t even come close to the genius of Trent with all so respect. This was bad
I like Corey Taylor, just not his music, like Dave Grohl and Billy Corgan, not fans of their music but they seem like cool kids...I didn't know this was a sing along?? Wish the crowd would STFU! People didn't pay to hear you they came to see him, damn...
never seen him live but all of these orlando shows he's def encouraging the crowd sing a long shit, at least seemed pretty keen on it for the U2 cover. I was semi into Slipknot when i was younger and don't care for alot of the same stuff nowadays but there are definately some fkn gems this guys written.. Bother is amazing
Adam Hauger I fucking HATE Bother. S/T and Iowa were both epic albums in my opinion. But his acoustic covers seem to be awesome too. He really seems to have fun with them.
shamus chenier You could easily like someone and not like their music. And the same rings true in reverse. I like KISS' music, but I hate Gene Simmons. From interviews I'd read and seen, I would've liked Frank Zappa, but I hate his music.

if I could give this five year old comment a million likes, I would
I’m a massive NIN fan, and I have to say this is amazing! When this guy isn’t screaming in Slipknot he can really sing. Trent would be proud

Thanks for clearing that up random drunk guy
OMG today i have so much respect for Corey than before, I really like NIN, GREAT COVER GOD DAMN.
I'd really like to hear him sing this without the crowd fucking it up.

For an acoustic gig, it's respecful to match the volume of the set. An arena or full band though, you can go as batshit crazy as you please.

Corey's voice made someone shit themselves at 4:13
My favorite song ever. Wish the crowd and actually the guitar would go away. Corey singing it solo would be good enough

i know talk about killin the vibe for one of the most tender songs ever made... dang drunks lol
I really loved how the crowd sang the chorus with him.
Looks like you & only one other person feel this way. Whereas the majority seem to think (myself included) that the audience fucked it up, bad.
Love this song
The crowd makes this almost unbearable.
Came here looking for this comment. Was hoping I wasn’t the only one that felt this way
It’s a shame, too, because he did such an amazing job on this, but the audience singing most definitely fucks it right up.

The best cover of this by far is by Flyleaf. Lacey does this song amazingly. This is still good, but not quite as powerful as Flyleaf does it.
Lacey actually murders this in a great way emotion wise. I mean. Its brutal. Her version and Trent's still version are so fucking powerful I can't even fathom where that has to come from.

Good Job.

how did i not know about this...

Bronze Serpent its a band but trent writes all their parts
Ratt Fink no, it was solely him as the only member from '89 all the way to 2016.
But now there's two members.
NIN is now Trent and Atticus Ross.
Unbelievable ...
he's the Bono of the metal world.

I’m betting Trent created it from real pain and suffering, it’s impossible to cover that properly without channeling the same emotions
