What I feel that you tried to point out but didn't put hard enough emphasis on is how much prism system downgraded the design of mythic skins.
Every previous skin looked amazing in base, and customization only gave alternative body elements. But Reaper and Widow feel incomplete in base, and different versions add more details rather than provide alternative ones.
Widow before prisms would have visually different hats instead of no hat, small hat, same hat but bigger. Same with reaper and the no armour, small pauldrons, bigger pauldrons, same bigger pauldrons but with effect.
But now why would we get finished base model? If I like Sigma's second options and base colour, I won't bother getting whole thing now, will I?
But if Widow or Reaper feels borderline crappy in first or second option, I have to now get whole skin.

Disagree, hanzos and orisas were 2 of the worst on release and to this day mythic releases

@@nealmorse6787 But the alternative options were options, not just upgrades. They were the worse of the old way of designing Mythics, if they were released now, they would look even worse.

Tracer was the beginning of the end for "Customizable" Mythics, and really introduced the Apex Legends style of "Update" Mythics

Now the Tracer one I believe is an exception. The whole theme of Tracers mythic is a dnd/fantasy character levelling up as she progresses in her story. From rogue to knight, son of a blacksmith to the chosen one. It plays into the tropes of its theme which anubis doesn't do and the spellbinder mythic has a poor attempt at it. So the Tracer mythic shouldn't be lumped in there with the other ones, it had a good idea that wasn't just for money (though I'm sure it was brought up at some point)

I understand the armor levels kind of having better ones at higher levels. But having it be mythic prisms you can earn through the season in the battle pass makes it so you can earn an old skin rather than being stuck with one you don’t care fore

better designs at higher levels, sure. not the same design but shinier as they're doing now

Your first point is what upsets me the MOST. They whole idea of a mythic skin in the first place was supposed to be "a customizable skin". With the way they have implemented the prisms it's more of an upgradable skin. Once you have the final level there is no reason to go back to the other levels. It defeats the whole damn purpose of the mythic skins in the first place. My thoughts on a solution would be get rid of levels and have each piece of customization be it's own price. Basically first, you choose one option from each section, with it being the base 50 prisms, then you can spend prisms on specific colors, weapons, patterns etc all equaling 80 prisms in total but each has their own specific price. This will discourage the whole "unlock this because it's better" and encourage "get these options because they speak to your taste"
