Brilliant. Looking at all of you old videos. Again, as a math nerd, old math nerd, this makes sense from a physics standpoint. Perfectly intuitive. I will be purchasing a compressor. Can't thank you enough. Cheers. Rich
Only used DST wedge a few sessions to figure out how to properly align the left arm to the shaft. And that was all I needed. Now I am hitting straighter shots with all my clubs with more frequencies out on the course. All I can say is get this thing and ur game will improve dramatically. My golf buddies laughed when I tell them it was the compressor that lifted my game but hey U can guide a thirsty horse to the water source but u can' make him drink it.
That dip down with the hips as he starts his downswing, baffles me, in my mind I would feel my club head just lost it's alignment upon follow through..
Awesome! Makes sense and it's easy to understand/see how it should be done, but do you have any videos on concrete drills to practice getting into those various positions?
Great video. Pretty hard to replicate without his freakish mobility and golf strength. I've got both th wedge and 8i DST and really enjoy them. I find the most surprising benefit is chipping with the 8i. Everything else is what one would expect. One thing that would be nice is for you to demonstrate how we normal humans can try to get into some of these key positions at impact.
What I have found since practicing with the DST, is that if I don't reach full extension in my backswing, I struggle to deliver the club with control if I lift the club too early.
Rory has amazing timing and hand eye coordination, he does have great moves, some are over exaggerated causing problems later on. I can see why Rory hasn’t won a major in. So many years. As a decent golfer with “pretty swing” I can see his problems and why he struggles with start line and curve. Call me Rory!
one important thing you didnt mention is how his head stays back as the body moved forward. it actually even moves in the opposite direction away from the ball. if you dont keep your head from moving forward, you are screwed. your right shoulder will just come over the top and now you have to use your hands to try and correct the path which is almost impossible.
Obviously you are highlighting a lot of lateral movement to his lead side. Do you think that a player can achieve the necessary compression whilst being more rotational?
Hi Ad, As long as the handle of the club and stream are in front of the ball, yes. But ALL tour pro's don't have one without the other, by which I mean you have to have a combination of lateral shift prior to rotation.
It’s very hard to get there with just rotation. What tour pros do is recenter before they are finished with their backswing and are already on their lead side. This effectively moves the low point of their swing forward. Impact is a point in time not a destination per Se. The DST is a great tool but your body motion need to match as well. Check out Athletic Motion Golf’s Recentering Magic Magic video (it’s on RUclips) and it will give you a better explanation. Also, build your self a Sheftic Pressure board as I’ve found it’s the only way to learn this recentering move effectively. Hope this helps!
If people can accept my theory, congratulations for getting an extra section of arms (the fourth section), you could rotate the"shoulders" to more angle with higher hands. Try to align the left arm with left shoulder rotater is try to analyze Rory McIlroy with Tiger Woods(2018~) in the heart.
Benedict Saint ok, there are many ways to skin a cat. After breaking left wrist and losing some rotation, I find my right hand is more in control which I believe makes me a hitter not a swinger!
Benedict Saint No worries at my best I was a 9 ghin. Had a massive stroke at age 57 caused after being hit in the back of head by a golf ball. Just happy to be out strolling the fairway remembering good shots and on occasion hitting one or two! All is good, just striving as all for more distance.
I disagree with one of the points regarding the swing, and I have heard it said on several youtube videos. He does not start the shift of weight into the left leg before he ends the backswing. He ends the swing and in the pause, before it comes forward he starts to shift his weight. If you freeze the video at the top of the swing he has not started the move forward yet with his lower body.
Sadly we'll have to disagree on this point. If you haven't started the weight shift before you finish the backswing you're never going to reach a decent impact and the club head will out race the hands to the ball every time. basically producing a flip impact.
@@Dstgolf that doesn't make any sense. Having your body shifting forward before you finish your backswing, doesn't get your hands in front of your club. Your hands are still moving back or have stopped as the club is completing the backswing. What you just said would be a reason to start your hands moving forward earlier.
@@thatwilldonicely1314 Check out the video of Ben Hogan 1953 shot by Pepe Cano. You will see Mr. Hogan begins his move to his lead leg just before the club comes to a stop at the top. It is like a baseball pitcher. His lead leg is going towards the plate while his throwing arm is still going back.
Notice that it is the lower body that drives forward guys! don't get ahead of the ball with the upper body, that's number 1 killer in the average golfer...
I'm sure that he won't be able to get to these critical positions without being in a well balanced address set up. Not too much weight forward or rearward. A solid setup! Shouldn't that be mentioned first?. First things first?
im 60 yrs old with two hip replacements will this help me get my swing back. ive tried different golf instructors but they dont seem to understand how hip replacements change your rotation thanks
Wendy and Al, If you suffer from limited mobility I strongly suggest that you set up in such a way that limits the motion you have to perform. Would you like me to create a video on this topic?
First of all, we have to make clear what is the shoulder composed of? Is it just the scapular and the clavicle, nothing else. And all the muscles are attached to those two bones. My point is the shoulder is just a fictional body structure, its behaviours just depend on the action of its two components. Obviously the key part should be the scapular because the clavicle is just a tiny bone with curved shape, it's made only for constraint something never be used to pull something. If we focus on the movement of the scapular, we can find a whole new world! The takeoff and down swing actually started with the moving of the inner tips of the scapular, backswing ended with a scapular extended up with the inner side of scapular concentrated to the spine. All sports use the power generated by scapular, not exception! So the wrists actually are aligned to the two scapular tips in the way left wrist a little forward and right wrist a little backward. The palms aligned to the inner side of legs. By doing so, we don't even need to worry about so called timing. The reason is the pendulum effect: If the object goes to just pass under its center,it has maximum tangent speed, after that, the speed will be reduced and the object will start to go higher. With this alignment, we can force the left arm to pass the center earlier and get a pull up of left wrist, the right arm always goes behind its center and always should be pressed down to reach its bottom for maximum speed.m
5´38 : controlling the clubface?!? that is impossible, the current player does not use his hands , the impact and the finish position is a consequence.Regards!
It's very difficult to have an effective lateral move without losing height. This is because the lead knee should flex in transition. This lowers the lead hip and removes resistance. So that gravity begins the lateral hip slide towards the target.
Beautifully illustrated and explained!

I"m looking at completely revising my swing. In my kitchen, for the time being (polar vortex)... Back and forth between the computer and the kitchen.
Idk if they attempt to do this but the shaft is also running parallel to his trail leg
Thank you Bertie !

Is he pulling left hand or generating speed with his right hand?
Benedict Saint I disagree if you watch any of Tom Tomasello’s videos regarding the golf machine the right or left can control the swing.

they dont manipulate their hands, but they all have educated hands. Even those powering the swing w/ the body....

The fact of the matter is the golf swing lasts for about 2 seconds…..Rory just stands and smashes it ….he lets all the coaches discuss his swing .
You make a good point.
Effortless because he's swung a golf club from the age of 2.
