Urbex: ABANDONED House in Peril
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 24 мар 2014
- The noise in the background was from a large working farm across the highway. They had a large dump truck backing in and out of a bay along with a tractor in operation unaffiliated with me, this house and property. I've been getting a lot of questions about it so I thought I'd just put the answer in the description instead of typing it out repeatedly.
Exploring an abandoned structurally unsound old farmhouse ready to collapse after a few more heavy snow loads, I suspect. Obviously been left abandoned for quite a long time.

I love your movies, and the fact that you're always thinking of safety when exploring. It's sad to see all of that salvageable material going to waste. Even this house, in the shape that it's in is full of material than can be re-used. I want to pet every one of these poor old houses. :-)
Thank you, Kevin. I appreciate your comment, and love the "petting the houses" part. That's awesome. :)
***** I have a real love for birds, lol :)
I love seeing these old places. It is like they talk. They are haunting without being haunted. Thank-you for showing them.
I was blown away watching this. The decay was just impressive and you were incredibly brave to go as far as you did with it. This one certainly is near the top of the worse interior conditions i've seen anywhere!
That one is in really bad shape. Just about anything could trigger a total collapse. You were wise to stay out as much as possible.
Thanks, great to have you back.
I don´t know how this house exist ,yet ! Gutters and roof falling ! Congratulations ,TikiTrex ,your videos are great ! I love watching them .
My bed growing up was just like the frame that was against the wall! I love this house, so cool. Thanks for another great video :)
This was funny because I found myself saying in my head...Don't go in! Don't go in!!! Then it was Don't go up the stairs!!! Don't go up the stairs!!! lol At the part when you came out of the house, I found myself letting out a huge breath and sigh of relief. I had to chuckle at myself afterwards. So glad you stayed safe and were able to show as much as you did. Great video and thank you for sharing :-)
I felt the same relief when I left that place, lol. Thanks for watching! :)
***** another great video! Thank you so much for doing these videos. It's much appreciated by fans like me! xoxo ~ Shannon
Thank you so much, Shannon! That means a lot. Your comment and viewership are greatly appreciated. :)
If any abandoned house gives you the feeling "get out" it's definetly this one. Excellent video as always.
It's funny because it's like watching a movie where you says 'don't go in there' when you explore these places sometimes. I know you have already done it but since I am kinda with you I want to tell you to be safe. May in a way I am effecting what did happen but I like the vibe of having a community adventure with you.
thanks for the invite to peek inside this beauty of a house! Looks like winter is hanging on where you're at! Same here in Northern Michigan!
You're most welcome! This has been a very long unusually brutal winter. It's spring now and it snowed the past few days with sub-zero temps still. Unreal.
Glad to see you back in action! Always enjoy taking the journey with ya.
Thanks for joining me on the journey, Dwayne!
Great video love to watch very few places to explore here in the UK so live vicariously through videos from over the pond keep up the great work and thanks for sharing😃
Making my way through your 2nd video-that slanted staircase was incredible to see. The deterioration was so extensive but this would have been something to see in it's heyday. Once again thank you so much for taking us on your journeys!
The entire times you were going up the stairs I was saying don't go up there and was convinced the stairs were going to give o.o this place looks like it was once a very cozy house keep up the good work :)
Certainly a house viewed most safely from the outside through windows and doors. Thanks, Tiki.
Oh, for sure. You're very welcome!
Don't ever put yourself in any sort of situation where your safety is compromised just to make us a great video. Maybe take a large dog with you for protection, but, be safe, Pam!
At last after waiting for two weeks you finally uploaded a new video tiki trex thank you i enjoyed it.......
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
wow that house is completely done. Great video
Thanks, Steve. Yeah, it really has seen better days.
*****
Especially with the winter we had this year, I wouldn't be surprised if it fell down this spring when it thawed out.
WOW, I was scared for you ! REALLY bad shape, thinking it has been sitting empty a very long time, thanks so much.. So cool !!
Boy-U sure had me Holding my Breath, while U were trying to Decide about checking out the Upstairs...I kept saying out Loud-Don't Do It...!
Once again, a Brave Explore...
I Thank-U!
I've watched a ton of exploration videos from other people and yours are always the best!..I'm fairly new to your channel and I think I've already seen all your videos or at least the I find on my search. Keep posting great videos 😀
Welcome to my channel, Kim, and thank you for the nice comment! :)
Great video of that poor old place. Think when that house falls though, the staircase might wind up the only thing standing. Thanks for sharing your wonderful work.
Hey lady, good job on this video, and thank you for not taking any crazy chances. That frame you saw in the one room you thought was a beach chair was actually a frame for a 'roll-away' bed.
They were simply a frame and mattress that would fold up when not in use and could be stored away until needed w/o taking up a lot of room. Slept on many of them.
Hey Pam, That was a very old one! It was so decayed and falling apart it was hard to even imagine what it may have looked like before. Enjoyed the tour! Thanks for sharing! Take Care!:)
Hey Teala! Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for watching! :)
That house has seen better days for sure. I'm sure it will be on the ground in another year or two. Stay safe out there, and thanks for uploading!
For sure. Thanks for watching, Mark.
Thank you for going through so much to get the video done so that we can share your adventures..good thing you are a sensible brave lady.. its a very dangerous place to step in.. but you manage somehow still to show us the house..or should i say the state of the house..fantastic video.. thank you once again...
You're very welcome! And thank you for the kind words! Always appreciated. :)
The tiled back room is like prep kitchen those pipes were for interior hand pump/well. Stove would be in Ice floor room, saw the stove pipe hole. Those floors would be very built to handle large cast iron stove. It would have been well over a meter and a half wide, and burned wood or coal. The family would have bathed in large tub there to get water from well and heat on stove. Hence the next room would be a more formal dining area. Basement used to store cold goods. Id sure like to find those interior doors for my own 1850's house. Very old structure there. Treasure. Thanks Tiki!!!
I thought for sure you'd never walk up the stairs. Wow. You're really brave haha, as I would be up there just whimpering every step I took lol. Very nice video!:)
That "beach chair"in the little room is a roll away bed. I love to watch your videos.
Great video, as always!!! Watched quite a few of them, now I'll subscribe. Looking through these old relics is fascinating. Wear a hardhat though.
You are very brave! I enjoy all of your videos! Thank you!
I'm glad you love my videos. It means a lot. Thanks for watching.
Good to see you back again.
Thanks for stopping by, Colin.
Great video, Tiki. Stay safe!
Thank you, Steve!
My hat goes off to you for doing this one! Not sure I would have trusted those stairs...
One way or another, that house probably won't be standing much longer!
Another good one...thank you!! You are more brave than I could be. We have a really neat abandoned house by me that I sooo want to explore, but I am a bit of a chicken....ever come to MN??
I love your videos! One tip i thought of for you, not sure what you use to record, but you could use an extended tripod to look in unsafe areas like the basement in this one. Just a thought
Such a large house, the original owner must have been well to do or had a large family. Great place to metal detect to figure out the history of it. Great video and glad to see you proceeding with caution.
I love these old homes. I wonder about who lived there. If only walls could talk. I like how you narrate as you go through them. Thanks for making these videos!!
Thanks for watching, Carolyn! I'm glad you enjoy my narration. And I agree, if only walls could talk. :)
I like your videos - stay safe in these places ;)
Wow, you sure are brave, I wouldn't of attempted walking up the stairs. Thanks for the tour and glad you made it out safe.
Thank you, Chris! I appreciate your comments.
Nice one just love it need a bit of tlc thanks for the good video cheers Al
Wow Now this one wore me out ! I was walking through with you... Pssst. You had me puckering at both ends....I thought surely we was going to crash through. After the video tour my back is now killing me from being so tense. Thanks for posting ! I am going to rest now. Heehehehe. 😁
+Frank Poindexter Oh, this one was a very tense one. I'd say I was more nervous in this one than most. I felt bad dragging all of you through this, but at least we survived and can take a deep breath now. Just breathe in, breathe out. It's all over now, lol. Whew! Sleep well. bwahaha!
Oh my gosh Tiki you had my heart racing in fear for you, you are one brave lady, please be careful we would all miss you!
I think that was a "lone"chair 😊
Houses like that always have that lone chair. It's been ten years. I wonder if that place is still standing? Haha!
You do an amazing job on these videos, I really enjoy them :-)
That is great to hear! Thank you! :)
Wow Great video im glad you made good decicions not to explore certain Parts of the house to keep yourself safe.
This was a beautiful homestead at one time. It's a shame to see the shape it's in now. Thanks for another great video, Tiki.
I bet it was. Thanks for watching!
wow..that house was very dangerous looking..great video my friend..
Thanks, MC! Yes, it was a dangerous one. I was just happy to document it before it's gone as it doesn't look like it has much time left. Hope you had a good vacation.
This was a really old house; and the "lone chair" I think that you can make a great walk through out of any location...it looked really cold that day...great tour tiki :)
Thank you, David! Your comments are always appreciated and a pleasure to read.
Yeah, houses built with wood frame tend to be old. I'd say this one is at least as old as the American Foursquare style (between 1870 and 1900 maybe). They look fantastic, but need more steady maintenance in comparison to the one made with masonry. This video is the sad illustration of it.
The stairway in there is the most noteworthy piece. Even though Tiki trudged in Spongeland it resisted heroically to the assault of ambient humidity. Its workmanship is "honest" in terms of aesthetics, but you can tell the carpenter worked with the sturdiest quality of wood. It's so bad that it goes to waste like that!
As for the exterior, well, It can only be the action of moss. I have no knowledge of a wood paint which oxydate to green. If there's one feel free to tell, this detail is always interesting to know. If it's a specific paint only used under a certain timeline, it becomes a solid hint to date a building.
Wow! What a nice find! yet it was such a death trap unfortunately. I'm surprised the construction ppl didn't stop you. (assuming that was what was banging) another great video as always and I'm glad you made it out safe :-)
Thanks! :) Actually, those noises were from a truck and tractor operating at a farm across the highway unaffiliated with this house.
Love the videos!
Thanks, Christina!
I have tried doing a search of my area online for abandoned houses and it just keeps taking me to historic preservation sites. There are only two houses in disrepair that I know about in my area. I would love to explore them & don't see any signs posted to keep out, but I still get the feeling I am trespassing. Thank you for video taping your adventures so I can explore through you at least.
Whew, thank you for not walking around upstairs, esp after seeing those dangerous ceilings downstairs..
Love the video!
Awesome, thanks!
Love your uploads, looking forward to your nexs video
Thank you, Lorraine. I'm glad you enjoy them.
another cool vid thx!
TikiTrex I always enjoy your videos. You are a very brave woman. A lot of the other explorers just video the outside of the house because they are too afraid to go in. Of course I'm sure you would never explore a structure that is too dangerous. I, like your many of your fans live vicariously through your videos. ( My real name is Ken. I don't know how I came up with gatebell ).
+gatebell1 Thanks so much, Ken. I'm glad you enjoy my videos.
I was here in the summer of 2016 it was almost 40 Celsius that day. You made it in further than I did I was attacked by spiders and mosquitos!
Awesome video as usual and thank you..have you ever been to yermo California..we drove through the town on our way to Vegas and there are hundreds of abandoned houses in this small town..I asked a clerk why the town was mostly abandoned and he told me it was because the freeway was moved and a large factory most worked in shut down
Thank you! No, I've never been there but it sounds like a place I'd like to visit. :)
Great tour!
Thanks!
I love your fun videos!
Thank you!
enjoy your videos, had to laugh on the door to somewhere!
great vid tiki
Thank you, Paul.
Hi Tiki! Subscribed to your page a few days ago, and I've been watching your videos religiously now since. A couple of thoughts now that I've enjoyed several of your videos. Firstly, I must say that strictly from a husband's point of view, I know I would be worried sick every time that you left to go record more videos. Thank goodness that you seem to have a lot of common sense when it comes to doing this. Having said that, you are still far braver than I! You do a great job documenting these wonderful old treasures before nature or "progress" reclaims them. Just looking at the images in this video, I can see with my mind's eye how beautiful this house was during it's heyday. Also I'm guessing that this house was moved from elsewhere to this location at some point, hence the shallow crawlspace and steel beams. The back of the house was added after that along with a small basement. As much as I love watching these videos, in some small way it makes my heart so sad. It just seems that us humans don't really know how to value our past and present properly. This was clearly a gorgeous home at one time, and surely the family or families that were raised here must have enjoyed living there. Well enough rambling, just wanted to say hi and thank you for the documenting that you do. Without your hard work, these wonderful old treasures would simply vanish into the pages of time. Cheers Tiki!!
Hi Kevin! I really appreciate you taking the time to write out your thoughtful comment. It means a lot Thanks for subscribing and watching my videos! :)
Thanks for all your videos Tik, I tell you I am hooked on them, they are so relaxing (Spock would say Fascinating) that I barely watched any other crap out there anymore. hope your careful not to leave any fingerprints and wear gloves,. keep on posting them.
I believe this style home is called a Four Square Colonial and the "small basement" is the root cellar. Note there was a back door coming from the kitchen to access it, as well as the exterior door for loading the fruits and veggies from outside. It's definitely a bulldozer's project but I love this simple style of architecture :)
That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for your input! :)
The section with the full basement is probably the original house. The parts with crawspaces are most likely additions.
Makes me wonder what this house looked like when it was new?And who lived there and died there.History is everywhere
Tiki youre brave going into that house The birds nest in the bathroom has more structural integrity than the house. Thanks for making all your vids as they are always good. :o) - Andrew
I think you've got that right, Andrew! Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm glad you enjoy the videos. :)
Youre welcome Tiki and the floor joists were even rotten.:o) That house should be donated to the local fire department for practice.
andrewkiwi1"I second the motion," from another Andrew. I love old houses but that one is what might the authorities might call "an attractive nuisance"--and not because it looks good! It can attract trouble. Some individual or agency should assume responsibility and burn or tear down the house before someone is hurt or killed there.
Yeah its probably up to the owner but it would be nice to have it donated to the local fire service for practice
Great tour, this one must be abandoned for a very long time.
Thanks, Daniel. I definitely agree.
Just found your channel. Been watching video's all day. Good stuff. There is some suspense in your presentation. Makes it even scarier than it would be without it. Good work. I've noticed in some of your video's that you wear a mask (good idea), but I was wondering if you wear a hard hat?
You are the best!!
Wow, thanks!
Ultra dangerous. Glad you didn't push the issue exploring. Wonder what it looked like when it was new?
I think the larger part of the house may have been built later than the back as someone mentioned earlier. Looks like there was once a front porch on the big part yet the staircase faces toward what is now the back of the house rather than the front as is usually the case. It would be interesting to know why, maybe for easier access to the kitchen, but the reason is probably now lost in the past.
Hi Pam, interesting how close the trees are to the house, what a story that place cold tell, one thing is for sure you don't want to be homeless in Canada, she is rough territory in the winter.
Hi Craig, you've got that right! What I'd do to trade locations with you, lol.
You do great videos
Thank you, Mike. I appreciate that.
Like • As always, one more cool tour. There is a big mystery to this house. • I wonder how it got to this point in history.
Thank you, trainroomgary! Definitely a big mystery. There are actually a lot of abandoned homes along this stretch of highway. Maybe because it was once a busier highway before they put a newer one in north of here many decades ago, so the area is quite desolate now.
Definitely glad you put your safety first on this one, Pam! Still just as great of a tour. This place looks like it's been abandoned over 40 years! How about that shingle siding - don't think I've ever seen that before :>/
Thanks! Yes, that shingle tiling is definitely something different.
There was a period when the "imitation brick" (shingle like) siding was popular. Several houses in this area of Virginia USA have it.
Think of it as a 1930's / 40's version of vinyl siding.
Dwayne Interesting. Thanks for sharing that with us.
***** My old house of horrors in Baltimore I told you about has that same stuff on the bathroom addition, Pam. They covered it up with regular bevel siding but some of it blew off exposing it again.
House regrettably has become a death trap. You were wise to show it from the outside. Built in the late 1800's early 1900's . The portion with a foundation was original. The rest added on over the years. Sad, but it is destined to cave in. My only thoughts are of the many man hours put in to keep it glowing, all for not. Thanks for sharing Tiki. ÇH€€R§
I'm getting asmr from the video!
Little bit of an update**** good call on not going through to the back of the house, because it's totally collapsed now. the rest of the house is about the same as in this video. I absolutely loveeee going here and dread the day it falls.
One of my favorite aspects of abandoned house exploration is to find out when the property was vacated. By the level of decay, I would say at least 30 years...
That's awesome.. I bet thought with a little TLC, some new pluming , paint and drywall, you could flipp this property pertty quickly!! Is that your plan to buy it and flip it? God luck, i'd really like updates on her. shes pretty sweet place. do you ever travel to OHIO?
wow, that house is very, very old..thanks for the tour Tiki, what was the noise in the background? sounded like some kind of construckion or something..
There was a large farm across the highway, and they had a truck there backing in and out along with some other heavy machinery.
Still glad you follow your senses.
I seen the shingles on the wall before. I enjoy your videos because I enjoy old building. If only the walls could talk. You should take someone with you not only for a possible cave in but incase of wild animals.
Or a squatter.
a little paint and some creative decorating be a nice homestead..lol...:) see ya love your videos
LOL, easy fixer upper! Thanks!
Hi, love your vids but please don't get hurt for our entertainment. Don't ever stop exploring, just stay safe.
Yer my hero-i'm yer Subscriber. Thank You.
You have more courage than I do Pam!
What was all the background noise? I hear a reversing beeper and truck handbrakes being applied!
Yeah, it was pretty noisy. There was a large farming operation across the road with a large dump truck that kept backing up into the bay of a metal barn.
Hi im cody i like your vids I like you look to see if its safe and stuf
Have you ever been injured/hurt exploring any old homes? Have you ever fallen thru a floor ? Never seen this question asked so thought I would.
Thanks again for an urban moment ! :)
So far so good, fortunately. Thanks for commenting. :)
The box thing in the toilet room is actually a furnace. We still have one of them at my parents' house.
Thanks for that information, Kapitan. I would never have guessed that.
***** That makes perfect sense as it would have been right around where the basement went down on the other side. Thanks for the clarification.
I noticed you deleted my comment in respect to this channel I will not tear you apart very lame thing for you to do. Be a man for once in your life and admit your mistake or delete your first comment.
What... I didn't delete anything. Everybody makes mistakes and the furnace at my grandparents' looks similar to that. So sorry. But, you must be pretty good, if you can tell, that I cannot admit my mistake just by seeing one comment.
I wonder what year it was built.
that house looks done
I agree! lol
Beautiful house, shame it was left go into such a bad state of disrepair.
One big booby trap. Thank you for sharing all you could with us, Pam and for reminding us to exercise discretion. :)
I just noticed an option called "disable replies." Why would I ever want to do that? LOL
Beach chair? It looks more like a torture rack rofl.
Imagine going back in time and looking through all the windows. The inhabitants would be creeped out. ^_^
All in all, very thorough explore.
Haha, torture rack! Thanks as always for your astute and entertaining comments, Lewis! :)
You're welcome, Pam. Good to hear from you!
It's not a beach chair it's a day bed that folds out 😆.
What were all the clashing noises in the background? Heard some sort of truck or something reversing?
There was a construction business across the road.
