I have to say, I really appreciate the fact that not only do you go inside abandoned houses, you describe things as you go along. There is a young man on here who claims to explore abandoned houses, but rarely goes inside (claiming fear of cops, or the property is abandoned but listed for sale, or glances in and states not safe to enter, etc). Anyone can walk around outside an abandoned house and look at it, I want to see folks like you who are actually brave enough to enter and then to show all things of interest. Thank you for sharing these videos. :)
I'm not sure if anyone's already translated the letter you found at 11:50 because there are too many comments to read through, but in case no one has; here it is. And yes, it's written in Swedish, in the city of Uppsala, on October 25th, '61. "Hello! So this is how it is when you can't afford to call. Only now do you understand the sums you've called for when you lived at home. (You as in One, general term, not the person the letter was written to.) It was a quite common occurance that you made calls for both 1 and 2 hours. Now you have to pay and watch the time. It sucks, frankly. "When I grow up" I'm going to work at the phone company. Maybe then you can have a free telephone. I have (right now) decided what I will be. Oh well. Bullshit! Some people (meaning the self, who wrote the letter) are going to be full fledged [unreadable]! When I finish this course I'll probably be able to roll meatballs in my armpits, like Ruth! Oh, the aroma! (You do remember when we talked about that on Fläskö?) [island in Bohuslän, Sweden] Have a nice meal! What should I write about now?"
I love how thorough you are when looking through these abandoned houses. A lot of the other videos I've seen the person filming just zooms through the houses/buildings and I can hardly observe anything. I definitely enjoy your videos.
Hi TikiTrex. The letter at 11:55 is written in swedish. i know that because I have been working in a swedish hospital and I have travelled a lot in Sweden. So I speak swedish. The person who wrote this letter says that she/he have tried to call on telephone, but this was way too expensive so she/he decided to write a letter. Thank you again for a great video. Take care. Greetings from Ole in Denmark.
One of the best "tour guides/urban explorers" !! Also admire your respect for things left behind, which was cherished by a fellow human being. Well done..
Beautiful building! It's not too far gone at your explore time. The floor bucked due to water damage. The roof is going so, at my viewing, it's probably not safe to enter any more. Love your style of reviewing the place! Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!
To those who don't understand why people leave their home & leave items. I am sure 90% is elderly going into a nursing home. They didn't pack themselves, don't need or have room for their things & in most cases because their old they probably paid the house off , so in exchange for the high cost of nursing homes they family makes a deal with the nursing home to will the property over to the nursing home. But they have to wait till they die to sell. So they basicaly only sell for the land value. So it sits there. No bank to forclose, family (if any) can't have it. So it sits. Other cases are a death & family members dispute who buys out who so it sits. If nobody pays taxes the state will take it. But if the will trustee pays taxes it will sit till all arguing family members die or agree
Hi Pam (?); I find your videos almost addictive, but dunno why. I guess that it's vicariously voyeuristic in the sense that we see these interiors through your camera and guess about the lives of the former residents based on the stuff they abandon. Having grown up in Ottawa with summers near Windsor I've seen many abandoned farmhouses in Ontario but never bothered to stop and walk through. Sadly, like my grandparents' farm near Windsor, urbanization and agribusiness meant the end of family farms in many parts of North America. Despite the decrepit condition of so many of these properties, I'm reminded of the terrific lumber that was available when the farmhouses were built. The balusters are maple, the door and window casings are Douglas fir or even oak, and the floors are white pine. It'd be terrific if Habitat for Humanity or a similar organization could recycle the wonderful wood that's so expensive these days. Ontari-ari-ari-o!
Hey Pam, Enjoyed your tour very much! Always love the old farm houses. That really is a beautiful piece of property. The house looked to be in pretty good shape still. I thought the item in the bedroom window was a music box at first...LOL...from a distance that's what it looked like to me. That attic was awesome. Always wanted one that I could stand all the way up in! And the raccoon, ugh, I always cringe when one of you come across a dead animal. I know you love your animals too, so I imagine it's difficult for you when it happens. As always, excellent video all the way! Thanks so much for sharing and Take Care!! :)
Thanks, Teala! Glad you enjoyed! I also think it's great when you are able to get full utilization out of your attic like that. That's funny about the music box, lol.
I think this would have been a lovely home! It's sad that it ended up how it is now. The clothes were nice as well, looked like maybe some traditional clothing.
The letter is in swedish, and says something about that it's very expensive to call and thats why the person is writing a letter. They're also mention fläskö (pork island lol!) and that's actually 30 mins away from where I live! Love your vids! xx
Hi Pam. Great house and video. You're right, this was an interesting looking place. I liked a lot of that molding. Took a lot of time to make I would imagine. Thanks for posting it. Always a pleasure to watch. Be safe and tread lightly. Poor little raccoon.
The letters and magazines found are written in Swedish. Also, you sound like a very young Meryl Streep but with a Canadian accent! I love your videos; I've marathoning them haha! Greetings from a fellow Canadian!
Wow what a nice find! That raccoon would have caught me off guard too. some cool things left behind. What a nice looking peaceful setting! Thanks for sharing with us! Happy Canada Day!
Thanks for the adventure. This was really an interesting place. It was really nice to see a place that was not totally trashed. I am too old to go on such adventures anymore so I depend on you to take me to places like this...LOL THANKS for a good one...
I saw an abandoned home today heading out of town and I thought about you. I said to myself; "How does she do it? The home looked creepy even in the day time!" Thanks for another video. I get to live out my interest in abandoned homes through you because I am not bold enough to go in one yet!
Thanks for another awesome tour! And I agree with you about not liking to see dead animals ;( ,and it made me smile when you said "rest in peace baby" you have compassion :) a very nice trait to have....that's why your one of my favorite tour guides :) Stay safe as always :) Don't forget your spiderweb-stick this summer :) lol
When you first walked up there I thought that raccoon was going to jump up and scare the crap out of you! to bad he was dead though. That must of been a very nice place to live at one time. Thanks for sharing.
Wow what a nice find! That raccoon would have caught me off guard too. some cool things left behind. What a nice looking peaceful setting! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thank you for the tour of that nice old place. I could almost get the feeling of the people who used to live there. Those two chairs in the field was where they might have came out and watched their horses. I almost get an eerie feeling sometimes seeing the remnants of others' past. Always a great video! Thanks for sharing!
I have watched so many of your videos now, and the thing that always strikes me is how quickly nature tends to reclaim it's own. I guess the thing I found most interesting with this tour is how tremendously well this house is standing up to the ravages of time. I think it speaks volumes as to the build quality of these older houses. I'm willing to bet if it weren't for the vandals, it would probably be in even better condition. One last thought, when you showed the two chairs out back by themselves, it actually made me a little misty because I could just see an older couple sitting out there on a cool summer's eve, just enjoying natures beauty and each other's company. Damn my mind's eye! :) I know, I'm an old softy, but I can't change who I am I guess. Anyway, another wonderful video by the very talented Pamela! Thank you for sharing!
Been watching a lot of your videos, since I came across you lol. These videos are awesome and so ineresting. Wish I was brave enough to do stuff like this alone but also, I wouldn't know where to find, places like this lol. So, I'm happy to sit back and watch you do it haha. P.s you have a new sub ^_^
I'm always surprised to hear that some houses have been abandoned for 15+ years because I'm 16 (1997) and I'm always thinking "Omg, the owners left that house when I was born." Lol. It's a pretty great house!
+Joseph Barge I noticed in a few videos tiki is a bit weary of the raccoons so living in Australia I had to google to find out more about these human hunting carnivorous creatures of death and destruction, I was disappointed to find out that Raccoons are not dangerous to people, but when they lose their fear of people, they may be aggressive towards food and injure our pets. If a raccoon approaches you: yell, stamp your feet, clap your hands and make noise to scare the raccoon away. Note that raccoons are NOT DANGEROUS UNLESS POKED WITH A STICK LOL
The person who put smoke weed on the wall I hope they know how disrespectful that is I don't care if it's abandoned a lot of care went into building that house.. And it's a beautiful house they are just ruining it for the other people that truly want to appreciate it.
The letter on the cardboard box in the first bedroom is Swedish. It was written in Uppsala, which is a city here in Sweden. It says something about how the writer doesn't have the money to call someone, and wishes he/she was the head of the telephone company, so that he/she would get free telephone. Then the writer goes on by writing about when he/she and the recipient used to joke about rolling meatballs in their armpits on an island in the eastern coast archipelago of Sweden. It's amazing how many abandoned places you can find! Here where i live (Brasil) is almost impossible to find abandoned places and when you find then you are not allowed to go inside. I guess it's because i live in a big city but still... Always enjoy watching your videos!
Poor raccoon. But I was cheered by what I have come to refer to as THE CHAIR EFFECT. The land is so beautiful. I would have loved all those books were they in a language of my understanding. You never fail to pique my interest with your artistic vids. Yeah. the cacti looked rather depressed. Thank you again, Tiki-Pam, for the tour. Now. GO WASH YOUR HANDS! ;-)
I am sure the raccoon passed peacefully in his sleep. this is a great vid. The property is God's playground for us. I am a pink ribbon survivor and life is very cool.
Hi TikiTrex, I'm home recuperating from surgery and found your awesome tours.., really love what you are doing, so much out there to survey. I am always finding abandoned farms, now new homes while cycling. I will not take anyone out but compared to other explorers your narratives are 2nd to no one..,very much a fan of your work. BTW keep up the good fight with cancer as I am.., look forward to more of your posts. Sam
Hi Sam, I'm not fighting cancer, but I am very sorry to hear that you are.:( I'm so happy you like my videos, and I thank you very much for your sweet words. Wishing you a speedy full recovery.
Good morning, glad you don't have cancer. I misunderstood a conversation reading through the comments. My apologies for the mistake. Will be taking time today to enjoy earlier videos. Keep them coming. Sam
Good morning, Sam. No problem at all. Not long ago, I did talk to someone else who had beaten cancer, and was congratulating her, so that's maybe the conversation you saw. All the best!
You are a very good videographer! I like looking in abandoned buildings, but too many of the photographers move through too fast to see anything. I'm going looking for your other videos. Good job!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!! I think you should have tapped the raccoon a few more times just to be sure hahaha! That was an interesting predicament you had to deal with there before entering, totally released a lot of stress for me after a very long day, thanks Pam! Great vid, there sure was a lot to see in there!
***** lol that was good. I also loled at the Spick & Span comment with the "smoke weed" on the wall. rofl This was an odd-looking house, but doable for a rehab. My brother goes to college at CCBC here in Maryland and across the road from the campus' entrance is a very old-looking abandoned house. It's been that way for as long as I can remember but now it's so overgrown in vines and other foliage you scarcely know it's there. I imagine it's been severely vandalized as well but judging from all the houses you've been to, Pam, I bet the floors are still stable in it. I would love to see the inside but I'm too much of a wuss to go near it rofl. If you're ever for any reason in the Baltimore area, send me a PM and I'll give you its exact location, but it would probably be easy to find on Google. :)
TraditionalHymns LOL! With that much overgrowth, I don't blame you for not wanting to venture in, Lewis. I'm not a fan of that myself. Thanks as always for stopping by! :)
You're welcome and thank you for the revealing video. ^_^ I did forget to mention that the other reason is the road is on higher ground than it is, but even so the overgrowth goes up to the roof! I'm looking at it now, wondering if I can add pics here lol.
facebook.com/lewis.crise/media_set?set=a.10201459064437068.1073741837.1789310918&type=3 I grabbed these from Google Earth just 'cause I really want you to see this house. The pics are from 2012 and I actually hadn't noticed all the trees growing out of the windows. Probably NOT safe! And of course they're bigger now, which is why when I went by there the other day I could barely see it. I almost thought they tore it down or it collapsed.
I was very surprised by the condition of this house. It certainly didn't look as if it's been sitting abandoned for the past 15 years. Houses like these really make wonder about who last lived there. When I see things like dishes still in the drying rack, it gives the impression that someone was there one minute and gone the next. It''s an eerie feeling, because you wonder what happend that no one even had the time to put the dry dishes away.
Holy Moly Pam, now I know why your cautious in regards to racoons they are big critters & I imagine if cornered could be a real handful, nice place sometimes it's a real shame to see things gone to ruin, thanks for the tour, take care. Craig :-].
Thanks, Craig! Yes, they are rather large here when adults, and I heard can be quite viscous if cornered, especially if there is young around which is usually around the spring time. :)
Check CDC communicable disease stats. I used to get their email stats monthly and think I remember reading there had been no cases of animal to human rabies, other than those coming into US already infected, for the past 40 years or so. If raccoon mine, would try everywhere to get vaccinated. Seems strange that wasn't possible.
I only found out about you the other day and I have been completely hooked on your vids. You are absolutely fearless. My fave video was the cat lovers house. It was amazing and I loved the architecture. Thx for the and I hope you continue to bring me on your adventures. 😉
Hi TikiTrex.Excellent video.Kinda spooky even during the day.House has some potential.Thank You for taking us along with you. Please be as careful as possible.Hope that your enjoying some nice weather,it has been very hot here in the Mac.Lot's of very bad thunder and lightning.Take Care and Thank You for taking the time to do this.later,Kev.
Hi Kev! Aside from yesterday and today, we've had some pretty hot weather here as well with lots of storms. I actually enjoy thunderstorms (from inside, of course). Thanks as always for your nice comments! Take care :)
The horse books where Swedish and french :) they possibly moved there from a war to start over and that explains the letters. but yes horse and donkey books where Swedish and also french.
Great video, What a nice property, it`s a shame who ever owns it did not keep the house repaired through the years. The wonderful mature Trees on this property are a huge bonus. Hard to see something so cool deteriorating to nothing.
"And now a massage from the Swedish Prime Minister!" (old Monty Python bit). I liked the duck border in the bedroom where the demised cacti were. Okay, Pam, you had the obligatory lone chair, and the raccoon, but where is the Christmas paper this time? ;-)
This is totally random but, @ 9:22 When you said, "mold on the ceiling" my first thought was that would be a perfect title of a Weird Al parody of The Black Keys... lol
i love this video .it's wonderful picture like first time .like left the house and also the place .is it possible ask you could you contact with the owner ?
Cool tour, lovely house, you would not think it was abandoned 15 years, wiring looks new. Have you thought of getting yourself a head cam? OK stupid question, why are you so afraid of Raccoons? I have only 7 more videos to watch before I watched them all, what will I do with my evenings then? PS, for a second I thought you visited my old home, The London Asylum for the Insane, but then realized it is a different one! Looking forward to the next one.
Yeah-I'm with U about that Racoon, I used to feed a Mama AND her Babies, peanut butter Sandwiches-So MANY Trees have been cut down around here, I don't see them anymore. I was really Surprized about the Dresses up in the Attic, but since there didn't seem 2 b Much in the way of Closets... Thanks for the Tour-Love Your Vids!
As always, a most enjoyable video. Even though the house didn't seem to be in bad shape, I don't think I would have gone in. The dead racoon and the thought that there might be more would be enough to keep me out. I admire your courage.
The letter was in Swedish! What I could read it was about his/hers job :) I like that the house hadn't been vandalized, it was beautiful! Poor raccon though..
Love your videos. I use to do this all the time. IT was my addiction. I can no longer do this due to exposure from toxic mold. So I'm sooooo glad you recognize the hazards of toxic mold and wear a mask!!!!!!!!! Our exposure however is life long so we are limited to even public places we are allowed to go. Great job!!!
Great video! I just recently discovered your channel and I love it! Unfortunately, a lot of old buildings where I live have been torn down, so I can't explore a lot of old buildings. :(
I have to say, I really appreciate the fact that not only do you go inside abandoned houses, you describe things as you go along. "Tapping Raccoons would be a GREAT punk rock band's name!"
Another cool video, thanks!
LOL, that would be! And you're most welcome, Dwayne.

Meatballs rolled in Aunt Ruth's arm pits. That's hysterical!
Bra översatt. Många år sen men såg denna video nu
Thank you so much. I kind of thought it was the Netherlands.
Brave woman you are Pam! I would have turned around as soon as I saw the raccoon.
Thank you for another fascinating video :).
The architecture is beautiful! I so hate to see the old houses abandoned. I love the high ceilings and large rooms.

What shame! That's a wonderful old house!
I love old houses. It's sad to see them abandoned. Like you Tiki, I don't find them frightening at all.

wow, that wall paper has almost come back into style.
I can't believe how brave you are! There is no way I'd go down that dark, creepy basement alone! Yikes!
Wow what a nice find! That raccoon would have caught me off guard too. some cool things left behind. What a nice looking peaceful setting! Thanks for sharing with us! Happy Canada Day!
Thank you, Jason! The raccoon definitely gave me pause.
Thanks for the adventure. This was really an interesting place. It was really nice to

so I depend on you to take me to places like this...LOL THANKS for a good one...
It's my pleasure to bring you along, William! :)
Well, just be glad you can wait....!!!!
Love our northern neighbors . We say ( about ) sounds like trout. You say about , sounds like boot. Love it.
Unfortunate abandoned home....still has some charm! It is a jewel of a property, kind of hidden. Cool!
I love the way the light passes through the attic! i love tthe attic in general

Good job.
Another great post from tiki!! Thank you for sharing. Tiki I'm always looking forward for your videos.
I'm glad to hear that, MrAvalanche! Thanks as always for exploring with me!

I bet that house was beautiful in its time! hope you are doing well Tiki!
Beautiful! I loved the bannister. Thank you this was very nice indeed.

I'm glad you enjoy the videos, Bruno! Thanks for watching.
When you showed the last clip of the raccoon it startled me. Great video! Thank you
Great as always Tiki so glad you see you this one was right up my alley horses lol a lot of cool looking pictures...xoxo nikki
Hi Nikki! Yes, this house definitely would have been up your alley for sure! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Pam! Thet is so sad thet you found a deaf racoon!!!! I almost cried!!!
such a beautiful house!
anther great video! that place is in amazing shape for being abandon for 15 years. loved it.
i wanna say maybe thats German. i have a neighbor thats German and that looks kinda familiar to me..i could be wrong. but thats my guess.
I love your videos. I have been fascinated by the history some of the abandoned places have. Thank you for yet another great video.
My pleasure! Glad you enjoy them.
Very cool - the exterior kind of looks like a church. Very much enjoy all of your vids.
I thought so as well. Glad you enjoy my videos, Kristy. Thanks.
Now. GO WASH YOUR HANDS! ;-)
Another Awesome Job Tiki, what a beautiful location. thanks for posting..as always..Stay Safe..
Thank you!
The beginning was funny, would be a Tiki video without some raccoon signs. Good Job, beautiful house.
you have a new subscriber! I love your videos :) I like the way you want to find out everything about a place
I love your recording and narrating style. Thank you for these timeless uploads. Keep up the great work!
Good job!
I appreciate your nice comment. Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the other videos! :)
Oh my gosh they had a french Beauty and the Beast book! I'm so excited!
Good job Tiki, I enjoyed that. Thanks and stay safe!
Thanks so much, David! Glad you enjoyed!
What a beautiful property, love the cedar rail fences, and of course"baby" is the star(tap tap tap with a stick) lol.As always, wonderful Tiki :)
Thanks, MC, lol. :)
Yeah, I don't think I tapped it enough! LOL! Glad this video was a stress-reducer for you, haha!
*****
lol that was good. I also loled at the Spick & Span comment with the "smoke weed" on the wall. rofl
This was an odd-looking house, but doable for a rehab.
Very nicely done! :D may you be safe on your journeys and happy with your adventures!
Thank you, Jay!
Nice vid, thanks for sharing. If it was me, I would have to take a broom, tidy up and sweep - I couldn't resist it.
Ok Pam, watch yourself & 1 Australian suit of armour on it's way :-]]]]]]]]].
Craig Cottingham Thanks, Craig! I may need it!
You do a great job with the camera in spite of exploring. Very cool.
Thank you!
You are brave! It's a pity these places just get abandoned. The place still ... has some nice features. I don't know how people can be so negligent.
I only found out about you the other day and I have been completely hooked on your vids. You are absolutely fearless. My fave video was the cat lovers house. It was amazing and I loved the architecture. Thx for the and I hope you continue to bring me on your adventures. 😉
Thank you, Alex! I'm glad you enjoy my videos, and you are always welcome to join me on my explorations. I have more to come :)
No problem. I can't wait to see what you bring in the future 😉
Thanks for the adventure!
.. Another great find and video,Thanks Tiki !
Another great find and video. Love your narration.
Thank you so much!
"And now a massage from the Swedish Prime Minister!" (old Monty Python bit). I liked the duck border in the bedroom where the demised cacti were. Okay, Pam, you had the obligatory lone chair, and the raccoon, but where is the Christmas paper this time? ;-)
You are so right, Shay! Where was the Christmas decorations and paper in this one?! BTW, I love Monty Python skits. :)
This is totally random but, @ 9:22 When you said, "mold on the ceiling" my first thought was that would be a perfect title of a Weird Al parody of The Black Keys... lol
LOL
thanks for the tour, i joy your video of old houses
You're most welcome, Luther! Thanks for watching.
i love this video .it's wonderful picture like first time .like left the house and also the place .is it possible ask you could you contact with the owner ?
19th century beauty....another good vid Mrs :)
Thanks, Jamie. :)
as always top notch video Tiki! Enjoyed the tour
Thanks Steve!
Swedish. That place was in remarkably good shape. Thanks for sharing.
O my Tiki! That was funny with the racoon.....love your videos :)
Thank you, Katrina! Glad you like them! :)
YOU are so brave Tiki going into that attic :D And poor little raccoon
As always, a most enjoyable video. Even though the house didn't seem to be in bad shape, I don't think I would have gone in. The dead racoon and the thought that there might be more would be enough to keep me out. I admire your courage.
Don't know what else to say , but Welcome Back Pam!!!!!
Thank you, Richard!
@@TikiTrex again WELCOME BACK, YOU WERE MISSED
Thanx for another great explore.....
I just saw the raccoon part .. I couldn't stop laughing 😀👍
Great video! It amazes me what people leave behind.
Thanks! Yes, it truly is amazing,
The letter was in Swedish!
Hi, Why didn't you wear a mask?
Great video! I just recently discovered your channel and I love it! Unfortunately, a lot of old buildings where I live have been torn down, so I can't explore a lot of old buildings. :(
Welcome to my channel! I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for commenting.
