This episode came out on my birthday, I was 12 years old, I am pretty sure I watched this lying on the floor with the fire on when my Mom came in and sung Happy Birthday to me and she used to like see James with his Gelato sat outside haha. I'd start Saturday mornings as a kid with Transworld Sport also on Channel 4 then it's a waiting game for 10am for this as in between on C4 was the boring Morning Line. Such great times, great commentators and the best football that the premier league with all it's billions will never touch in terms of quality of of all the teams
This was required viewing as a kid growing. Up. Top football, top analysis, top presenter. As a near 40 year old it brings a smile to my face of all those memories of fabulous football.
@@ConfordConford same here, and I am 38 too, It's why I still love foreign football now and big it up over Premier league hype! Also this episode was on my birthday, so i'm pretty sure I watched this as a kid while being sung happy birthday.... the best times! Amazing memories
Fellow 40 year old here. I'm sitting here at 1 in the morning, having a couple of cans, and soaking up this wonderful 90s football nostalgia. Great times.
They won the match against Inter, a 4-3 thriller with Mancini turning home the winner from close range. I broke a light shade in my parents house punching the air in delight! We were very good to watch that year, but full of holes at the back.
What a game !! Great era of Serie A. FORZA SAMPDORIA !! Love this interview with James Richardson who wasn’t holding back with the questions haha the interview would be stopped these days with how relentless he was asking about him wanting to move lol
@chriscarthew i remember that game very well, it was the end of our hopes for scudetto.. Very quality midfielders, Paul Ince, Winter, Zanetti, Djorkaeff but weak defense as in every Moratti early seasons. 3 years later, 98-99 Inter had Ronaldo, Zamorano, Djorkaeff, Kanu Recoba and he bought Ventola, Pirlo and Roberto Baggio..
So many of the club names and player names sounding so good and interesting definitely added to the allure of Italian football has a kid... I mean checkout all these vowels at the end Atalanta, Parma, Napoli, Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, Udinese, Piacenza, Perugia, Bologna I could go on..... Italian football is simply Bello! Grande Grande ragazzi
Jonathan Grade mentions in his Golazzo book that the pillar in front of the camera at Vicenza's ground was a bit of an eye-opener for Channel 4's live Sunday match.
I didn’t realise until recently that Richardson was only 26 when he started with Football Italia…not that I thought he was a lot older but I did assume he was probably in his 30s when he started
I'm English and I never backed English clubs in European competition largely because I have more intrigue and interest in foreign teams and growing up watching Italian football on channel 4 because we didn't have Sky was a blessing for me as watching this and the Spanish highlights on Transworld Sport also on Channel 4 before this show put me on track as someone who backs foreign clubs in European competition and bigs up foreign leagues against the hype of the prem

Really miss James and the Italian football. Much better times than now. No Internet no mobile phones, and proper players.
its on BT
He presents the strongman contest
What have the internet and mobiles got to do with it? Plus you can still watch italian football if you want
I miss that time in the nineties is what I really meant👍.
@Mike McGrath-Bryan There's even James Richardson too

Absolutely the same. Am 38 and never missed it on a Saturday morning as a kid. It made me fall in love with football before I watched the English game

Mancini looks younger now than he did then!
Just the best football show ever this was. Wonderful times
This makes me so happy I could cry. Actually cry.
I'm already crying bruh
When Italian football was the blueprint for other leagues!!! How times have changed!!!
This was when Seria A was the best league in the world
By a fair distance too
I used to love watching this every weekend when I was a kid

The point in life when Italian football was absolutely unmissable.
I still watch it on bt sports, Italian football is on the rise again, great to watch

My favorite football prog of all time...

Mancini loving Rovers shirts. I remember watching this. Heady times
Just watching him on bt sports 2022, the presenter hasn’t aged in 30 years, in fact he looks younger now lol
I was thinking this the other day. He must be mid to late 50s now but doesn't look older than 1996! Must be the Italian pastries.

What an intro :)

Soft peno in the Inter match, yet Del Piero was hatcheted down 😂! Silky skills from Zidane throughout
fantastic!
Thanks, Ross!
The joke about Caniggia's nose was 10/10
I would watch this religiously when i was like ten, IT'S ASMR
Always wondered what happened to Mancini.
Didnt he sign for Leicester city a few years after
Won the Euros as Italy manager last year.
Vladimir Jugavic class player Samp Juve Lazio Inter 👍🏼⚽️
I've missed your uploads Ross!
Seria a will never be the same agsin ever
Dunno what was worse Padovano's shot or Motella's Pass
Not even caniggia’s nose was so expensive 🤣🤣🤣
Pavel Nedved was some player👍🏼⚽️
Nedved was magnificent
Imagine getting this access to Premier League players nowadays, as well as being able to watch the games for free.
Remember the name.... Mark Fish
Mister Zeman allena ancora
We need more Ross
If C4 brought back Serie A now, they’d get out of their current financial woes.
Miss you uploads ross!!
No penalty at 9.30sec great days
12.20 Rome derby.
Hopefully Serie A becomes the best again
Back when you could have a player like mancini in your team and not finish 7th 😂
