"Tyr took special time to heal each Kratos's inner wounds, he knew exactly by fighting each other ... in quick & aggressive state, Kratos can share anything on his mind faster." Now that you said it, that makes so much sense. Kratos keep blaming himself for what he did in the past, and when he's not doing anything, his head is filled with self-blame and self-hate. He have this constant need to do something all the time to keep his mind busy and away from all of that and only then, his mind become clear. Tyr know this better than anyone that what he need is combat, that's all what Kratos know. He is born Spartan and as a Spartan, he was raised as a warrior. Combat is literally all that he know. Also he ows her a son 😂 Edit: After watching it all, this sums it up... To master thyself is to be at peace thyself. I hope in the next game we see even more brighter Kratos...hopefuly with Freya in hand.
I have followed Kratos' story since the very beginning game. This has turned into a modern literary masterpiece wrapped in a video game. Its arch has evolved along with video game technology over the decades. I marveled at him, walking uneasily on wooden beams and scaling ceilings in the first game, defeating a statue from the inside in another game, killing giants in a third, moving to near first-person POV while sharing the screen with his son, to joining a band of heroes in the fifth, to finally putting his demons to rest in 1-on-1 fights with Tyr. I grew up as a maturing adult with Kratos. I thank everyone who gave us this series.❤
It would have been nice to hear the young Kratos speak but imo a fight would have ruined the entire Valhalla metaphor. All of it was his reflections of his mind showing that he’s been beating himself up for centuries, a literal fight would’ve been gratuitous.
@@donsolo7860 I Have to disagree it would of been the perfect battle just think of it as a younger faster honestly better version of you with all of your upgraded gear, and talent as a Boss. My father told me this when I apologized for doing wrong as a child. It stung me with bitterness for long time, feeling unforgiven, but shortly after I heard Kratos drop that line... my whole perspective changed on the phrase. At 30, it's become an important part of my personal creed. The Stoicism in this character and his journey is one of the few profound stories of this generation. Listen, and it will teach you.

I think one of my favorite things about the Valhalla story is showing not only how powerful Týr is, but what it implies about how he was shown in Ragnarok. Either Týr didn’t put up a fight and let himself be contained, or Odin was able to capture him and is far more powerful than he appeared in his boss battle (Which I think he was, and the game implies his strength through storytelling over the gameplay). I don’t know, I love the mythologies and Odin is definitely more powerful than Týr, but GoW does change stuff up from the original mythology, compared to what’s added in the fantastic narrative that is GoW. Thoughts? I’ve played all the GoW games, but there’s enough content that I’m having to go back through now since Valhalla came out :P
Damn.I thought they did an awesome and excellent main story to GOW Ragnarok but i never ever realize that they will make them even better at Valhalla. The gmaeplay, the cutscenes and story is just magnificent.I cried a little as i saw Kratos image getting a respect and love he deserve in all realm and yet here i am,tearing and smiling as i see him sit to his throne again.Being a God of War again but this time,it will be different.Mad respect to the Developers, you just won Game Award of the Century 🙇♂🙇♂
Hey buddy, Can you please tell why every RUclipsr writing Part 1 in the titles for the God Of War Valhalla game. Does that means the game need to be made yet? Cuz I m searching for the gameplay playlist or full gameplay... everybody's video titles says PART 1. Please reply.
"We're done here, then. so, uh...what now?" "Now? I believe I would like to sit here for a while" Reminds me of that scene near the end of GOW4 where Kratos removes the bandages on his hand to reveal the scars of Ares's chains and has a serene moment, and Atreus is like "Can we go now?" 😂😂
I think the story of this is deeper than people are giving credit for. He was reliant on his wife and child to make him feel whole again and forget about the past, but what happens when they are gone?
I love this DLC compared to any other GoW Dlc because it's a treat for the old fans. its lore accurate enough to stick to the oldies but gameplay enough to allow newcomers to still enjoy it. You can actually feel like your right beside kratos as he is traversing down memory lane. When he was talking to his younger self it was pretty satisfying. but i guess the voice actor has already moved on. it would have been a killer hearing his younger voice just one last line. or even a very tough fight. seeing if Kratos can beat himself and all. but this is older GoW. this DLC is about making peace with your past to help you step up to the role. so Kratos as a boss just doesnt fit that formula all that much. ... fuck man... i still really miss young kratos's voice...
this is a solid indicator that we WILL get a god of war remake 1 2 and 3, that greek enemy is just like the ones from the old games, oh now im highly impressed, beyond impressed, imagine the same graphics, same play style and mechanics as the new God of war, but as a young Kratos, dude imagine how lit that would be, remember the fight with posiden
I like how every time Kratos fought him, Tyr kept on keeping him in check physically at the end like, “I’m still stronger than you, and I’m done playing right now.” It didn’t look like Kratos was pulling his punches, but every time, Tyr caught them with ease, it seems.
I was impressed with the writing of the DLC and the game was very well played to the end. I was disappointed that he and Freya never got “together” at the end. It would have been the DLC of the year with Kratos sitting in the chair and Freya standing next to him
Respect for Kratos for facing himself and regretting his past sins. 📈📈📈📈📈📈. The man has matured now. Now this man is no longer a war monger. He lost all of his family. He either killed them or they died near him and he did not do anything for them. Now Kratos is finally god of hope. + People missed one detail : Tyr was sitting in Hindu God position befode fighting Kratos. It shows Tyr also travelled to Indian pantheon and may have lots of knowledge about cosmos.
I'm a huge, huge fan of God of war Ragnarok. The game play is intense. I have played, Ragnarok all the way through over 40 times and it gets better every time. Ragnarok Valhalla, is the game to have. If I'm having a bad day; this is my go to game on the hardest level. The story, the graphics, the combination of attacks, weapon upgrades, is off the chain ( meaning good). I have the God of war jacket, with the nine realms. Hands down God of war has been a part of my life, and I just love it. Kratos the ghost of Sparta. Valhalla is off the chain
The DLC is very good and the story too, for my part I hated the idea of starting the whole course again when you die, especially when you lose against Tyr and you were almost finished the chapter.
Kratos has come a long way from PAIN, LOVE, to now HOPE..... now lets see were his son take us and more. To MK as always keep being that gamer we all love, watch, and the journey we travel with you cause I got my snacks and I'm ready.
I would be talking mad shit back to helios. "It's hard to think of anything stupider..." "It must be hard to think with no blood in your head. I wonder how that happened to you..."
Santa Monica Studio making an entire new game mode on top of an already excellent game with excellent story and an entire new weapon with it’s own techniques and combos, adding tons of replayability separate from the base game for free;
In a way, this is like reconstruction as opposed to deconstruction. Instead of going back to a heroic narrative and saying 'were you really as heroic as you thought you were?' this is taking a new look at monstrous actions; The horde had to be stopped, and may even have been there because of Ares (my theory); the 'crazy' gods were mainly acting more like themselves anyway, Pandora aside. This does not excuse the worst of Kratos' actions; rather it simply says that a cut and dry narrative of a past monster is no more complete than one of a wholly justified hero.
So is anyone gonna talk about how kratos during the fire sacraficed basically stared at the fire that was burning him; like his whole eyes is open as the flame shoot towards him. Kratos eyes is literally being splashed with flames and he still stared it down (albeit in pain though still). Kratos is just that guy, he's Him

"Tyr took special time to heal each Kratos's inner wounds, he knew exactly by fighting each other ... in quick & aggressive state, Kratos can share anything on his mind faster."
Now that you said it, that makes so much sense.
Gosh, the writing in this game is absolutely phenomenal, and they pair it with amazing gameplay as well. SM Studio really outdid themselves through the series.
its just a game no need to take it seriously

Brilliant insight, random youtube commenter. You'd make a great scholar.

I damn near had a heart attack when the blade of Olympus first came out. As well as the first fight with Tyr
Every cut scene in this DLC gave me a bit of a chill. It’s a really a love letter to the fans.
Thinking back to the previous games, how far Kratos has come. The deeds he regret, the choices he thought was right at the time. Hearing him recall Pandora’s words of hope.
when he was sitting on the throne his skin color became normal - he was free from the curse of killing his wife and children. that was the best part of the journey.
hats off to the writer
Huh.... I think that was just lighting effect
what I learned from Kratos is that when you are young you want everything but when you are old you only want peace
great summation
You can't have a god of war game without the Blade of Olympus
God of war 1
God of war chain of olympus
God of war ghost of sparta
God of war 4
God of war ragnarok before this dlc
So yeah you can have god of war without the blade because it’s already been done

I love the tension between Freya and Kratos. Feels natural as to how they got to this point. She seeks someone who she can lean on and, as Kratos said, he values her. They really make a nice couple. Also he ows her a son 😂
Edit: After watching it all, this sums it up... To master thyself is to be at peace thyself. I hope in the next game we see even more brighter Kratos...hopefuly with Freya in hand.
"He owes her a son." Christ, you shippers are fucking twisted in the head.
The only thing that was missing was a battle with zeus and Corey Burton’s superb voice.
A remake is desperately needed
And also T.C Carson
@@definitelynotaskinwalker that too
And Poseidon as well
I really wanted to see old and young Kratos talk and even a fight between them. That would be really great.
You just have to survive, it would of been a brilliant send off for This DLC and Old Kratos dealing with his past

Uwah! This was so god damn good! Such an amazing addition to the already amazing story!
Giving Valhalla something of a mind of its own is rather clever. Portraying the Norse god of war as something of a therapist/guide, even more so.
Appreciate the no commentary. Makes it very chill to have on the other monitor while doing stuff.
"We're done here, then. so, uh...what now?"
"Now? I believe I would like to sit here for a while"
Reminds me of that scene near the end of GOW4 where Kratos removes the bandages on his hand to reveal the scars of Ares's chains and has a serene moment, and Atreus is like "Can we go now?" 😂😂
Now... This is actually called... Back to its roots 😭❤
"Men will literally brave the trials of Valhalla instead of going to therapy"
This is the only therapy in Kratos' world.
This is the only therapy in Kratos' world.
This is how you make a love letter for an old game ladies and gentlemen. If only Ubisoft would learn.....
I think the story of this is deeper than people are giving credit for. He was reliant on his wife and child to make him feel whole again and forget about the past, but what happens when they are gone?
2:55:27 is so awesome
They both jumped at the same time 🤣

Christopher Judge’s voice work here is incredible.
"There is no end to one's improvement". Thank you
this is a solid indicator that we WILL get a god of war remake 1 2 and 3, that greek enemy is just like the ones from the old games, oh now im highly impressed, beyond impressed, imagine the same graphics, same play style and mechanics as the new God of war, but as a young Kratos, dude imagine how lit that would be, remember the fight with posiden
I was staying loyal…I don’t want to see anything or hear about it until my favorite gamer drops it 😂😂😂
I like how every time Kratos fought him, Tyr kept on keeping him in check physically at the end like, “I’m still stronger than you, and I’m done playing right now.”
It didn’t look like Kratos was pulling his punches, but every time, Tyr caught them with ease, it seems.
I was impressed with the writing of the DLC and the game was very well played to the end.
I was disappointed that he and Freya never got “together” at the end.
It would have been the DLC of the year with Kratos sitting in the chair and Freya standing next to him
Thanks for uploading so fast man.
Love watching your videos.
No bollixology bullshit talk.
Just gameplay
Santa monica respects his fans thats why they make DLC like This … Pure Goosebumps of Nostalgic God of war🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank You Brother And

I really enjoy your gameplay videos especially the God of war series , thank you ❤
I'm a huge, huge fan of God of war Ragnarok.
Its nice they brought back some of the old ost from the other GOW. That was a nice touch, made me feel 7 again watching my older brother play.
The OG music of GOW always 🔥 especially when he use the blade of olympus.
The DLC is very good and the story too, for my part I hated the idea of starting the whole course again when you die, especially when you lose against Tyr and you were almost finished the chapter.
Welcome to the roguelike genre
That frame at 2:55:25 was epic🔥🔥🔥

That last fight against Tyr was hell, just so much going on shit had me more stressed than when I fought the berserker king 😢

"It must be hard to think with no blood in your head. I wonder how that happened to you..."

Did Tyr just use blood magic through one of the fights?
That would make sense, considering the seemingly Aztec weapon he was wielding.
The young kratos is moving without talking.. is enough make me Soo hype!!!!
i was not expecting this to be a big dlc. considering its free.
Hope Mimir is in every god of war from now on
Santa Monica Studio making an entire new game mode on top of an already excellent game with excellent story and an entire new weapon with it’s own techniques and combos, adding tons of replayability separate from the base game for free;
i love the ending
YOU ARE MORE THAN THAT
😭it was so inspiring for me.
Old kratos old Sparta and old Greece 🎉🎉❤last scene was too god
So is anyone gonna talk about how kratos during the fire sacraficed basically stared at the fire that was burning him; like his whole eyes is open as the flame shoot towards him. Kratos eyes is literally being splashed with flames and he still stared it down (albeit in pain though still). Kratos is just that guy, he's Him
