Entry level keyboards are getting just as high quality as things that were considered to be unattainable for the same price range years ago. Anyone who is getting into keyboards and is not sure if they want to commit to the hobby, this is the board for you!

@@ahtiparviainen9077 Tons of GB, but if we’re talking about in stock it gets more difficult. I don’t exactly now what your budget is, but the mode80 goes for around $500 and is supposed to be shipped in January! Very nice keyboard it is

"Entry Level" is kind of a misnomer. It's cheap for a custom, but any custom at all is potentially a normal person's endgame. There's not much more you could expect from a keyboard, maybe ESD protection and a different mounting style, and with TKC/Dixie/KBDFans/Rama going the NK65 route, you'll be able to get that for a decent price too,
@@aDistantLight its not one of the most expensive boards you could possibly buy. look at some keycult boards, those have insane prices. this isnt really that expensive compared to stock boards, around 160ish if you buy budget switches like gat yellows and budget $30 keycaps

I’m gonna get this with gateron yellows (lubed with krytox 205g0 even though it’s my first custom keyboard) can someone recommend me keycaps that aren’t expensive. I also need tips on lubing I would really appreciate it if you helped me.
I think the kbd67lite will be a great contender for nk65. And with the screw in stabs, blocker on the bottom row in 67lite, it would be very awesome entry-level. It's just like a budget version of 67mkII..
But well, let's see how the actual 67lite turns out.

What about KBD67 Lite? It supports screw in stabilizers and is gasket mounted
IMO, it’s probably gonna feel better to type on and maybe sound better, but I’m not sure if the ABS case gonna be as good as the NK65’s case. Only time will tell, I’m picking up a KBD67 lite either way!

U should check out the drop carina. It's really similar but they use a smoked acrylic case. It's also in the same price range as the NK 65. I just got mine in as well.
Looking forward to the complete build video! I just got an nk65ee and I'm kind of a noob when it comes to modding stabs and lubing switches.
Glorious GMMK full size with Glorious Panda switches is all I need. Nice keyboard though.

Beautiful board. Sadly didn’t get it though due to the units being sold out right away when it came out.... at least I bought the KBD65 on Friday and I’m excited to build my next board
U mean the $99, NK65-Cracked Edition? But for real, this is coming from someone who just got into mech keebs and was very excited into getting my first ever "entry enthusiast build".
Keep in mind that there may be more micro cracks within the screw holes and it may lead to bigger cracks in the future. Mine only showed 1 crack near the top of the backspace key but after more than a month of using it daily, more cracks showed up in the corners and the hear the screw in the space-bar. While this is maybe covered in the acceptable quality standards of NovelKeys you are not guaranteed to have a perfect board in the long run. A lot of people in my local community who got the NK65 EE(2nd drop) has reported the same thing and its not an isolated case. I feel like NK really could have done a better QC. Just because they are offering one of the best budget products doesnt mean they could skimp out on their QC. With that said I actually have better hopes for the KBD67 Lite as they offer a plastic case and in proper use I cant see it cracking just as how polycarb does.

I got my nk65 the same drop you did. My stabs weren't clipped although they were lubed.
7:08 i saw some hair on the stabilizers, do you have cats? if so how to handle cat's hair on my keeb? i don't seem to have a very good way of handling that since i have 2 cats, they don't walk on my table but there's always hair everywhere

I wish they make a 60% with one additional column at the left and side of the keyboard for macros.(total of 5 column of keys).
You can ctrl+backspace it cuts the whole word instead of hitting backspace again and again

I got my Nk_65 Entry in Smoke and it is a solid keyboards that sounds great, the only thing I didnt like was the stock plate mounted stabs, sounds really bad to me or just 'plate mounted stabs' aren't good as screw in's. But fixed that with genuine cherry plate stabs from Zeal with some 205G0.
Could i fit durock v2 stabs in this?

It depends on what switches you want to use, not the case and pcb etc. What switches are u gonna use

Can you take out the stock stabilizers and use screw in stabilizers or no?
If you can't use screw in stabilizers are there any stabilizers that you'd recommend to use? I got an n65k coming in February and I want to mod it.

The case is nice addition but that coiled cable is mech. I would better save 5 bucks for custom coiled instead

the nk65 sounds rly nice but how does tall is the board in terms of dimensions? i like using a low board where i can rest my wrists on the table while typing or gaming.
