FAQ's:
Q: Does this erase any info from my computer?
A: No. A BIOS reset does not delete any data from the hard drive :)
Q: Does this reset my BIOS password?
A: Unfortunately, I do not advise on bypassing BIOS passwords on this channel.
Q: I cant find a CMOS battery on my motherboard :(
A: Not every motherboard uses a CMOS battery. Yours may not. In that case, can you enter BIOS during startup and find an option for factory reset in there?

I was afraid to mess something up so I left it alone for now but I was wondering if I had to do sommething different due to the black band across it?

When I plug in the charger the light shows, but when I try to turn it on it starts for 2 seconds and turns off immediately, eventually losing the light after. Hi! If you're gonna read my comment, I want to tell you that it was not an optimal solution for my CMOS (502) error. 😟 This is what happened:
After replacing my main battery my laptop (HP 15-daxxxx) only starts once hooked to ac power. Otherwise it wont even turn on. Once it shows a cmos checksum error for a few seconds, it boots normally. After resetting cmos, the laptop runs normally and I can unplug ac power. My laptop model doesn't have any CMOS battery. I already updated to the latest bios version and resetted cmos a couple of times. Unfortunately, it did not help. Any advice what to do and why this happens?
For a few days now I stopped shutting down the laptop. I just put it to sleep
Im confused by your comment. You said a couple times that you resetted the CMOS. But you also said that your computer does not have a CMOS. How can you reseat it if it is not there? Can you clarify what is happening with your computer?
@@PC_Monkey sry for the confusion! What I meant is that once that error pops up, it states 'enter - reboot system'. And after some seconds the laptop restarts itself. Reseting was the wrong term!
Once it restarts, I can sign in. I immediately ran the battery test and it shows that the battery is fully charged BUT is weak and needs to be replaced. I don't quite understand cause the battery is brand new. I guess this also may be the reason for the cmos error?! But i don't understand the reason😬
@@pray-zubair3402 Yes, if your motherboard does not have a CMOS battery, then the reason for the error is most likely the main computer battery. Is it a brand name battery or a generic battery? FYI, in my experience, only about 60% of generic batteries work. I would try brand name if its not already.
@@PC_Monkey I have the battery from AolsteCell. Thanks for your time
So a dead COMOS battery can cause your laptop to not start up?

Facing a Weird Issue, Need Help. So When I press power button of laptop, there is no display but power LED lights up for 5-10 seconds and goes off and then again lights up after 10-15 seconds. This continues for random amount of time somewhere between 10-40 minutes and then the laptop starts normally showing Lenovo Logo and then Login Screen. It happens after every shutdown. Any Solution for this?

Hello there, I have a laptop ASUS ROG G751JY and after replacing a new thermal paste it doesn't work anymore. Laptop won't boot to BIOS and no display.Laptop turns off with 10 seconds. I've bought a new motherboard and it didn't help :(
PLEASE HELP
P.S. I can record and send a video if you want.
If its not booting to BIOS, try this BIOS Reset first. Also, it may be that you accidentally knocked the CMOS Battery or some other plug loose while you were inside the computer if this happened after you did that procedure.
Hussar90s oh my god I have the same laptop! It was fine then all of a sudden the next morning it won’t start! :( I’ve tried everything except the cmos battery hope this works! When I pressed the power switch, The power light is on as well as the battery light but no backlight from the keyboard and no fans spinning :(
@@aglan Hope resetting reseting CMOS battery will help for both of us.
@@PC_Monkey Thank you for your response. I'll try it out.

If those tests dont identify the issue, then come back here and try the BIOS Reset :)
