This is damn epic for a first video 👏 I can't remember if you mentioned if you still had the footage from the first-recorded-not-posted one, but I hope we get to see that one day 😝 My first left much to be desired, haha. Thanks for the reading journal inspo! 💜
Omg thank you so much!! I don’t remember if I saved the footage. It was really bad 😅😅 I love your reading journal videos!! Thanks so much for checking my video out 😊😊
i can’t believe i’m only just finding you now, in october of 2024! i love this whole setup, and your other videos. the frame on the wall idea was so cool! excited to see what you do for 2025!
I suck at collages too. PBB always has the most beautiful ones. I try to copy hers too. It’s never too much or overly done. It’s just the right amount of mysticism and beauty that I love to look at. With that being said, I loved your layout. So beautiful.
I'm getting into journaling coming from mixed media/art journaling - don't dismiss how much art and design principle goes into creating nice looking collage! There's more to it than just gluing things down, and we all start by getting ideas from others! I'm thinking of doing more for my reading tracking next year - this year I just wrote what books I was reading on a monthly page and now I'm feeling like I want more. So thanks for this great walk-through. And yes, I am totally scoping out your TBR page - you've got some great picks on there! And you seem like me, willing to read any genre with a good story 😊 Ooooh but I love series!! I love getting and staying in a world! Love your idea of a series tracker. I need to also have an author tracker for authors I love and want to keep reading more of. I just started Mistborn, already enjoying his style. HAHAHA love you're idea of *slowly* reading Song of Ice and Fire series!! I sadly got into reading it right before the third book was released, well before the shows were announced, so I'm impatiently waiting but agree, not hopeful anymore. You'll probably want to stop after Children of Dune - it gets very strange after that and very hard to read.
Omg thank you so much! The collage copying validation feels good 😅 I really wish I was better at reading series (this year is not going as well as I hoped). But it is what it is I guess. I hope you enjoy Mistborn. I really enjoyed the series (book two was my favourite) and good to know about dune 😅😅 I’ll keep that in mind when I finish children of duen
This is stunning! Im so impressed with the quality of the video and of your journals! Such a wonderful watch and very reminiscent of PlantBasedBride in the best way possible! SUBSCRIBED. Looking forward to more videos from you
This is such a good video, seriously. I love journal videos but they can be hard to watch and now I realize that it’s probably the editing because I have no problem with yours
Absolutely LOVE the gothic look 🖤 when I was making a reading journal last year, it was so hard to find other reading journals with the same esthetic for inspiration. Happy reading!
Thank you for taking the time to put this video together and for sharing! It is the best reading journal setup video I have watched for 2024. I love it!
Oh my goodness gracious, this is SO beautiful! I had no clue people actually put so much thought and craft into filing what they read - I am impressed to say the least. I love your style of storytelling as well, you most definitely have a gift for this, your journals deserve being scanned and multiplied, I would LOVE to read them! Keep up the talented work, I'll keep a close eye on your updates.👏🧚♂️
Absolutely love your choice of font for the gothic theme of your journal. I ordered a notebook therapy journal for my 2024 reading journal and I'm kind of glad it was back ordered because you have given me so much inspiration. Thank you for sharing....look forward to more.❤

I’ve heard such great things about The Bear and the Nightingale! And I didn’t know it was a series!! Seeing as you also love Maggie Stiefvater, I might have to check it out
First, this video was fantastic and I can’t wait to follow your journey! I just started my first reading journal and yours is so inspiring. Second: I FINALLY FOUND A REVIEW OF FIREKEEPER’S DAUGHTER THAT I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH! Validation ✨
I was shocked to hear this is your first video! So well done. the music isn't too loud, and your voice is aesthetically pleasing. Good job! Doesn't look like we read the same type of books but I loved this video! I am going to subscribe anyway!
hey there! I loved this video and I really can't believe it's your first one! I was ready to binge aaaall the videos on your channel, your voice is so soothing. Your 2023 journal is the prettiest journal I've ever seen and it really makes me want to have my own. I probably won't though because this is going to be a really busy year for me, but I look forward to watching your 2024 flip through! I must say, I'm kinda disappointed you didn't like throne of glass because it's one of my favourite series. I read a bit of what you wrote about it and many of your issues with it have an explanation in the rest of the series. When I've recommended this series, I've always said that you have to kind of suffer through the first two books to get to the real good stuff (which I know is a pain and it shouldn't be that way), but I'm so in love with the plot and the characters that I can't not recommend it. Anyway, not trying to be pushy, of course it could just not be your cup of tea but I just wanted to share my two cents about it! Hope you have a great day!
Hi! Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it. And thank you for sharing your thoughts! I didn’t like acotar so I was hoping to like throne of glass, but I just don’t think I enjoy young adult literature as much as I used to. I still read it, and sometimes something comes along that I do enjoy, but I find myself less and less interested in picking up ya. I hope you didn’t mind my aggressive words in that review 😅 when I wrote them, I wasn’t thinking that anyone would read them
oh not at all! I also have very opinionated thoughts on some books and I actually found the way you wrote it kind of funny! I thought that maybe if you were on the fence about whether or not to continue reading the series, some encouragement about it getting much more interesting would be nice to hear, but not every book is for everyone and that's the beauty of reading
This is very lovely, you have a very kind voice. How did you like Moon of the crusted snow? It's the book I got in the family bookclub, abd I haven't started it yet.
I definitely traced everything in that Gothic font 😅 I was not about to freehand all of that. But everything else was hand drawn out in advance just to speed up the filming process
When a story is easily rereadable, it's a book I am sure I love. I'm forgetful; maybe it's because I read so casually to the point of ignoring a book's title and author because I only care about the plot in its blurb being "interesting". So, when I latch on a story to the point of remembering it's title (and then the author), that's when I know I really loved that story HAHA. I think this is why starting a reading journal was so alienating and I could never feel belonged to any "book club" because for the life of me, the authors and titles mentioned are... foreign (or maybe because the scope of literature is just different, but even in cases that the literature is familiar, the depth of reading really blows my mind as I'm easily leaping from one title to another.)
I completely understand that. I feel like I had the opposite experience though, and that’s why I felt I needed a reading journal. I could remember the title and the author, but even if I loved the book, I struggled with remembering the content. So I’m envious that you can remember the experience more
❤❤❤ love your journal. Can't believe this is your first video. You're a natural. Great job. Also, I'd like to ask where you picked up the alpha and number stamps? I've been trying to find some small ones to use instead of the wooden ones I use.
Thank you so much! Apparently I’m too new on RUclips for links to actually work in the description, but I’ll leave the Amazon product title here: Stampendous SSC219 Small Typewriter Alphabet (Packaging may vary) a.co/d/hOlwYiK
Also, I really liked your flip through. Your spreads are beautiful. As someone that reads voraciously I sometimes wish I could muster up the patience to make a spread for every book I read, but I've found that (for me personally) placing that expectation on my head only upsets me, when I inevitably fall short. Still, I love seeing the spreads other people make. I've seen you've read the All for the Game series, have you heard that a new book about Jean is in the works? I think it's suppossed to be called the Sunshine Court. I am excited about it!
Thank you so much! I totally get that. I think if I read more than I do, having a reading journal like this just wouldn’t work. It would be way too much to keep track of. And I did hear about The Sunshine Court! I’m excited and a little nervous 😅 it certainly was not on my 2024 bingo card that’s for sure
I also totally didn't expect that to happen. The Trilogy seemed kind of complete and like the author didn't want to continue in the world, but it seems I was wrong for thinking that. I really do hope Jean gets some happiness, he soo deserves that!
This is incredibly well done. Both journal wise and video wise. I gotta ask though, where did you get the stickers/washi that are dolphin/whale themed?
Thank you! The whale washi tape was from Notebook Therapy from their Gentle Giant collection. I don’t know if they sell it anymore. I also ordered the whale stickers from them, but here’s an Etsy seller selling them (they also don’t sell those anymore either): www.etsy.com/ca/listing/639071080/

i like to ramble to myself in the comments while i watch videos you can ignore this lol. my reading journal looks very different its very plain. i have it formatted like _______________ Sunday, Feb 18 Book: Yada Yada Author: Ooga Booga Genre: Non-fiction, History Pages Read: 1-70 _______________ and i just do that everyday i read. when i finish a book i write a lil (tiny in comparison to yours kkkkk) review in it as well and put an annotation tab so i can see when i finished a book by looking from the side! i do have a resolutions page and i have a page that has all the books i read every year. one journal usually lasts me two or more years because its so simple and theres no spreads lol originally i had a days read tracker but it was making me too stressed and i was just reading to fill it in i wasnt reading for fun. maybe when i get a new journal that has dots instead of lined paper ill try the way you do a tracker, but thats a future me decision the supertip marker on the bookshelf made it look like wood imo, at least on the camera. i mix different formatting when reading too i LOVEEEE the ocean/whale theme in your 2023 journal, my 2024 planner has a shark theme :))
I like the simplicity of your journal! I understand how a days read tracker can take the fun out of reading. That’s why I don’t try to force myself to read everyday. Otherwise, it will feel like a chore. And thank you! I love the shark idea!!
Honestly me too 😅 it’s a never ending tbr with him. I have this idea in my head that one day I’ll read all his books, but I don’t know if we’ll ever get there
If you don't discount it (which is understandable) I feel like tons of books also start with 'A' or 'T'. Maybe that's because I mostly read Fantasy, but ACOTAR really set a trend with names and I can't count how many times I've read "A something of something" or "The something "
Oh absolutely. When I was filling out my challenge, I was trying to not use those titles. But if you included them then yes, there would be an overwhelming number of books that start with “T” 😅
And we have similar interests in books! I'm all over the place, but you're the closest so far. and considering you have a positive view on the Well of Ascension it's even better.. I found many people didn't like it. which boggles my mind..
Haha no worries at all 😅 I’m glad you enjoyed it! And THANK YOU! Someone else who is bothered by the pen loops!! I get why they include them, but I do not like them. And I know you maybe weren’t talking about The Well of Ascension, but I’ve heard many people say it’s their least favourite in the series. It’s probably my favourite of that trilogy.
wanting to read russian literature the one that raises killers and just inhumane is an interesting want. I wanted to subscribe, but it turned me down. I hope you will never come to read those authors
Hi. Thank you for sharing. As I mentioned, I’m mostly interested because these authors’ works have been admired for years, and I’ve been curious as to why that might be. If I ever pick up something by one of them, I’ll be sure to do further research on them

What pens do you use for the bulk writing in your journal? I like that it writes really small. x
I used two marker pens throughout this setup: a Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen with the hard tip, and a LePen marker in 0.3mm
i like to ramble to myself in the comments while i watch videos you can ignore this lol.
my reading journal looks very different its very plain. i have it formatted like
_______________
Sunday, Feb 18
Book: Yada Yada
Author: Ooga Booga
Genre: Non-fiction, History Pages Read: 1-70
_______________
and i just do that everyday i read. when i finish a book i write a lil (tiny in comparison to yours kkkkk) review in it as well and put an annotation tab so i can see when i finished a book by looking from the side! i do have a resolutions page and i have a page that has all the books i read every year. one journal usually lasts me two or more years because its so simple and theres no spreads lol
originally i had a days read tracker but it was making me too stressed and i was just reading to fill it in i wasnt reading for fun. maybe when i get a new journal that has dots instead of lined paper ill try the way you do a tracker, but thats a future me decision
the supertip marker on the bookshelf made it look like wood imo, at least on the camera. i mix different formatting when reading too
i LOVEEEE the ocean/whale theme in your 2023 journal, my 2024 planner has a shark theme :))
I like the simplicity of your journal! I understand how a days read tracker can take the fun out of reading. That’s why I don’t try to force myself to read everyday. Otherwise, it will feel like a chore. And thank you! I love the shark idea!!
What is the small stamp set you used for the series tracker page?
I got them from Amazon. Here is the product title: Stampendous SSC219 Small Typewriter Alphabet
@@guessimbeth Thank you!!!
Stephen King is all over my TBR..... I eventually want to read all of his fiction work. 😮
It is the primary reason I decided to stick to author last names for my alphabet challenge ;)
What size stencil did you get?
Here is the link to the stencil I bought: a.co/d/3h4ekV4
I'm a Dean Koontz fan more than a Stephen King fan. May be do to having had to read IT as a freshman in high school.
A freshman in high school??! No, that’s valid. I picked up IT in 10th grade but didn’t actually finish it until 12th grade
@guessimbeth It gets better! 9th grader at a private Catholic high school. In the 12th grade, we had to read the book Alive!
Omg 😂😂😂
Where can I buy this?
Do you mean the journal? It’s from Archer and Olive. It’s a B5 size dot grid notebook 😊
Lol bro. when I saw you pull out the pen holder I immediately paused to tear them out of mine. Man, I really don't like them. xD
I mentally berated myself.. stencils.. forgot they were a thing for letters.. but I already learned most of Fraktur writing.. so.. too late now lol
And we have similar interests in books! I'm all over the place, but you're the closest so far. and considering you have a positive view on the Well of Ascension it's even better.. I found many people didn't like it. which boggles my mind..
Great video! will be binging and coming back for more! (sorry for the multiple replies, if I wait til the end i forget my excitement.)
I don't think I'm thinking of Well of Ascension actually.. not sure what I'm thinking about, lol
If I ever pick up something by one of them, I’ll be sure to do further research on them
😊😊
Love your journals ❤️❤️
Thank you so much 😊
