I agree with your thoughts on the “back seat romance “ subplot. I like this in my books. I want romance but not in the forefront ☺️
Right?! I feel like when the romance is the subplot, I get just enough of it so I’m invested in the relationship, but I don’t feel like the plot of the book is compromised

Im really interested in a stationery or craft supplies tour because it seems like you own a very nice collection. ❤😍 oh not to forget that i totally live for a romance subplot! It truly is the best
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I had never considered a supplies tour before, but I might have to make one 😅 and I’m so glad that lots of other people love romance sub plots too! It seems like most people prefer romance being the main genre, so it’s nice to see others who share an interest
I had a very similar reading experience to Howl's Moving Castle when I read it a year ago. I'd heard great things about the Ghibli film, but had never felt like watching it. It had never occurred to me it was based on a book, and when I found out I decided to read it. It was a fun and whimsical experience for sure, even if it's not the type of book I'd normally read.
Yeah I feel like this is almost an identical experience! I don’t normally pick up middle grade, but I enjoyed this one! I’m glad I gave it a shot
this is the first video of yours i've seen, but i just wanted to tell you how much i appreciate your attitude toward reading. watching big-shot booktubers go thru 15-30 books a month is very entertaining, but soo unattainable for most people. i really like how you seem to define a good reading month by the quality of the books you read and how much you liked them. also spending time to write two pages about them is a great way to really think about how it impacted you and turn your review over and over in your head. this was a great video, hope to see more from you! :)

I read Howl's Moving Castle after having seen the movie and I felt they compliment each other very well. If you liked the book and generally enjoy animated movies, I'd say give it a try (it's definitely not just for children). =) Love the spreads, especially the one for Carrie Soto!
I did watch the movie after reading the book, and I agree, I think they compliment each other really well. It was a visually stunning film. I really liked it

I grew up with the Howls Moving Castle book rather than the movie! I much prefer the novel to the movie, but it might be because I read the book first. Howl was very handsome on the book cover that I remember borrowing from my school library, so the movie was a bit jarring
I feel like that usually happens when we read the book first. The movie just never compares.

I have not read Assistant to the Villain. I feel like I’ve heard a lot of mixed things. I wouldn’t say you have bad taste 😅
