I had an EKG in the ER yesterday (among other things). The Troponin I results said Anteroseptal Infarct, non-specific age.
I had no idea til I looked it all up that I had a heart attack god-knows-when and had no idea. I am floored. Thank you for the info!

I was just in the ER a few days ago. On my EKG it stated sinus rhythm low voltage, precordial leads,
    Anteroseptal infarct, age indeterminate
    Summary: Abnormal EKG

May I email ECG and ask if I interpret it correctly? Thank you!

Quite interesting. What causes Septal MI? Does it occur from open heart procedures (HOCM) If patient had surgery over 5 years ago, why does EKG show recent Septal MI? Happened to me, not getting decent explanation from DR. Thx

Surgical involvement in the region may have affected that region. Can occur in the setting of surgery or ablation to the septal region with HCM.

What does septal MI of indetermined age mean on a EKG?

We can determine that the MI is in The acute stage (MI that happened early) by detection of ST segment elevation.
However if there no elevation of ST segment, to diagnos the MI we search for any pathological Q wave, if there any pathological Q wave , that mean the patient have had an MI in the past , but the pathological Q is not specific for the time , if you find a pathological Q thisis mean that the patient may be had an MI befor 10 hours at least or several years ago .
So The conclusion : we can't know the age of MI except if we found an ST elevation which indicate an acute MI, otherwise you can't determine the exact time.
