Folks missing the point of the story I see. The thing is both of them have right and wrong in their motivations, it's not a black and white binary here. Rick went from encouraging healthy relaxation (which is basically the extent of Rick's "being right" in this scenario) to unhealthy indulgence, you see this shift when he stops caring about Summer and Morty and tries to send them home so they're "out of the way." Unity recognizes this eventually, which is why she leaves, she realizes that Rick's still volatile and dangerous for both of them. She handled it in a poor way that did a lot of damage, but the end result was for their mutual benefit. It was Rick's continued self destructive tendencies soloing in on Rick Prime that not only got Unity's attention, but caused him to ignore her messages. She did the right thing by reaching out an olive branch. Maybe she was a bit out of line assimilating Virginia, but that was basically her way of showing up at Rick's door to do a wellness check. It would have been no harm no foul had things gone according to plan. 3. Rick doesn't own Virginia. He calls it his "turf" but realistically it's the equivalent of her being on his yard, not breaking into his house. The same goes for basically anywhere else on Earth, tbh. 4. Unity's takeover of Virginia was non-hostile and non-destructive, a far cry from the arson analogy you're using. At worst she just parked her car in your driveway.
@niggamancer6985 Unity was 100% in the wrong for how she dumped him, but not WHY she dumped him. And again, she may have overstepped, but it was from a place of genuine concern even after everything that had happened between them. She may have overstepped, but as a chronic anxious worrier myself, I can at least understand where she was coming from. When you worry about someone and they don't respond to your messages for some time, your next instinct is to go and physically check on them if possible to make sure they're okay. Rick isn't necessarily in the "wrong" for not checking his messages, as it's not as black and white as right and wrong. They do frame his isolationist spiral in Season 6-7 as a bad thing, because it's unhealthy. But the fact remains that had Rick at least LISTENED to his messages, he would have been able to handle the situation a lot more neatly, probably without the government getting involved, which would have saved Unity the immense pain of releasing all those people at once. Which, again, you can see is something Rick realizes and regrets by his expression upon hearing her last message. But this episode is also a showcase of the growth of Rick's character since he and Unity had spoken 5 seasons prior or so. When she dumped him, he attempted suicide with little reflection and remorse, and even went scrambling after her after his attempt. But in this season, he stops to reflect, he gives Unity space, and listens to her messages, and realizes how this whole situation could have been avoided. That's part of Rick's series long arc, he's becoming more willing to acknowledge his mistakes, and better at recognizing them on his own instead of them flaring up and surprising him from the past.
@@user-em6ie2be7x she implied him she was gonna nuke it, literally 2 seconds before she did that. How did you expect him to stop it even if he wanted it?
You know..... I feel like the series will end with Rick acknowledging that the Ricks across the entire multiverse are to dangerous to keep around so he'll jump into the Omega Device that Evil Morty will end up making to cause himself and every Rick across infinity to cease to exist to save the entire multiverse from every Rick that's inside it.
Everyone talkinh about its rare Rick gets hurt blah blah blah. Lets not forget exactly why he's after Rick Prime in the first place. Hes a Rick with an actual heart, who cares, loves and wants his family. The booze, drugs etc aren't just for him to escape the pain but to sheild him from his true self or try to. In the beginning he may have came to Rick Primes reality to wait him out and kill him but i really think its bc he wanted family and eventually he felt that through that shield.
Nawh, Unity was in the wrong for coming back after ghosting and dumping Rick, while trying to act like the good guy. You lost the right to ask if someone's okay, while expecting a reply, when you dumped them. Even if you were totally in the right for dumping them. YOU chose to cut off contact, that's on you.
What this video didn't show is that Rick was fully prepared to commit suicide after Unity left. Rick didn't even push back after Beth told him off about the secret basement and space monster, he just conceded, went to the garage, powered up a death ray, and passed out seconds before the death ray fired.
the same episode where they introduced Unity (S2E3). it was the end scene AFTER the credits. they have one each episode, and if you haven't watched them, you should!
I find myself not agreeing or understanding the end conclusion of this relationship. It looked like Rick genuinely loved Unity that he had to make a fool of himself to try and get her back when she ghosted him. Yeah Rick was a bad influence, but being broken up with and ignored sucks and hurts, why would he answer her calls? I don't understand this concept of reconnecting with your ex, especially when that ex was the one that left you. I feel Rick was justified in ignoring Unity's calls.
TECHNICALLY this is the fourth universe which brings up a interesting question is this the same unity and the hive mind expands infinitely or is this a different unity. Also for people who are saying they only jumped once. (Chronenburg world, dead rick and morty world, squirrels...... and parmesian)
Each time they travel, they find a perfectly identical new universe. Rick abandoned Unity, but he doesn't care. The one we see in the most reason season is identical, so he still gets the same thrill. What's the difference? Also, my conspiracy theory is that the writers don't consider the Squirrel clip canon, because of problems like this.
Honestly? Rick's totally in the right, he tried to talk to her. She sent him away with weapons, she told him she cannot be with him in any shape or form...so he set his boundries. Next thing you know he "doesn't answer her calls" OFC he doesn't! She's a part of his past, past as in non present non future past, she's his ex, and one that doesn't get a hint apperently and decides its better to force herself into his home...when he clearly isn’t interested in talking to her.
Rick, Forgive for doing this in notes. I'm not strong enough to do it in persons... I realize now that I'm attracted to you for the same reasons I can't be with you... You can't change. And I have no problem with that... But it clearly means I have a problem with myself... I'm sure there's no perfect version of me. I'm sure I'll just unify species after species and never fully be complete... But I know how it goes with us.. I lose who I am and become a part of you... Because in a strange way you're better at what I do without even trying... Yours and nobody else's... Unity PS. I don't know where those coal-minors were before they was assimilated. You might want get checked.
I get why they made Unity a bit less put together to give Rick the chance to show us that he’s actually trying to change for real, but I wish they used another character to get this to happen. It makes sense that only someone who can reach him on an emotional level could act as a catalyst for his development (his family, Diane, Unity), but part of what made Unity’s character so interesting and cool is that she had her priorities and goals straight to where she felt Rick’s less mature self from earlier seasons was toxic for her.
Hard disagree. She never looked down on Rick's immaturity, she just ran from it for her own sake. Like you said, she has her priorities in order, and she wants to keep it that way. And when she reached out to him, that's a big deal because it made her vulnerable to getting back with him. She cared enough to risk restarting the terrible cycle he puts her into. That's what you do when an ex is dangerous to themself. I think they definitely ignored the parts of her you (rightfully) described as interesting, but they don't feel tarnished or retconned. To me anyway, I can understand why you disagree.
They make a good couple, but like some people out there, they're toxic for each other. Unity needs stability and focus to thrive, while Rick is a man driven by emotions. One of them would have to sacrifice who they are to make it work.

@@JBoehmGames least pretentious pseudo intellectual Rick and morty fan 😦

1:59 Why Rick isn't Relationship material.
but he was concerned here so I don't know why you put this scene as example
@@eliteknight2137 He didn't exactly try to stop Unity from Nuking the town to begin with.
@@user-em6ie2be7x she implied him she was gonna nuke it, literally 2 seconds before she did that. How did you expect him to stop it even if he wanted it?
@@user-em6ie2be7x she did it instantly without saying him she was gonna do that. How did you expect him to stop it?
Ah yes because being panicked upon seeing multiple people and his possibly his grandkids getting nuked means you're not relationship material
Na na rick and Morty a 100 years
8:40 i guess that where the sound memes came from
That sound existed before rick and morty
They re-recorded the lines for old episode for rick . It's doesn't have the harshness in his voice
lol no they didnt thats just how it sounded
I cant beleive you skipped rick's attempten suicide in the story. By far one of the saddest moments in the show.
It's absolutely that sad, and that's why it was excluded. Too much for a clip compilation.
Ah, I get ya.
3:56 Dude, where's my granpa? Nice joke news broadcasting😂😂😂
"The stapler you stole" was an Office Space reference, right?!😂
I think so
I wonder how it feels to get absolutely mogged by some newgrounds animators
10:00 lol the president
I always wondered how Rick dating with Une help him temporarily put him at ease from his wife’s death.
I can't speak from experience, but that definitely sounds like something that would be common.
I hope that the therapist was only sayin that to win unity over 😭
Everyone talkinh about its rare Rick gets hurt blah blah blah.
7:12. 😂civil war Baby 😂
6:10 I love that president can throw hands

I’m talking about unity. She has a big everything.
At 10:24 the way Unity walked up to the The President
My absolute favorite R&M episode. The song at the end always makes me emotional.
Of all the species R&M interact with Unity has always been my favorite the concept of her is so cool
What this video didn't show is that Rick was fully prepared to commit suicide after Unity left. Rick didn't even push back after Beth told him off about the secret basement and space monster, he just conceded, went to the garage, powered up a death ray, and passed out seconds before the death ray fired.
I would really hope their story continues
3:38 Oh, Summer. Was that your 1st race war?

The only woman he ever loved since the death of Dian

9:30 big brain lady

But I know how it goes with us.. I lose who I am and become a part of you...
Because in a strange way you're better at what I do without even trying...

PS. I don't know where those coal-minors were before they was assimilated. You might want get checked.
Want a flashback episode when they first meet + the time Unity took over the police station. Guarantees to have no Morty - bonus.
Anyone notice unity is using zeta7 ships? She really did assimilate him
I get why they made Unity a bit less put together to give Rick the chance to show us that he’s actually trying to change for real, but I wish they used another character to get this to happen.
That town at 1:58 was Israel'ed but with actual relocation.
They make a good couple, but like some people out there, they're toxic for each other. Unity needs stability and focus to thrive, while Rick is a man driven by emotions. One of them would have to sacrifice who they are to make it work.
Bring back unity
