FINALLY, someone who shares some amazing amounts of knowledge and gets the effects on OBS spot on! Thank you very much my friend, you've saved me a lot of money.
This mic is incredible at $70. I’ve been using an at4040 for streaming and gaming for a long time now since I already had them. It picks up so much more than just my voice. This fduce seems to be the go to for the monies. Thanks.
Very helpful, thank you!! I purchased two of these and will likely purchase at least one or two more before they disappear. Your video definitely made me more confident in my purchase!
You do an excellent job of testing these mics. I really appreciate that, my man. I have the Presonus PD-70 which I absolutely love, and get tons of compliments about. But damn, for the sale price, that comes in at roughly half the normal price of the Presonus, and for folks on a budget, I'd imagine that'd be tough to pass up! Have a great day, dude.
@@LowDoughTech HAHA, Ahh the Sony A7SIII and A7IV are sooooo good and that 10 bit 422 is so nice to work with especially in S-LOG 3. Figured I would splurge as these 2 cameras will future proof me for the next 4-5 years !
Bought two of these for our podcast and soon after we bought two Rode Podmics thinking they would boost our audio quality even more. After some audio issues recording today’s episode, we decided to test them against our original Fduce mics. Long story short, there was no noticeable improvement with the Rode mics and some of us preferred the Fduce recordings. The Rode mic’s are being returned - they were $139 each (Cdn) compared to $55 each for Fduce.

Looking for a 3rd mic for my pod… and yep.. this one is it.. good looks! Also!! (Bonus!) I can compare it with the PD400X & K688! Mic showdown up next!
I love them both, but I personally give it to the Q9U, but only because of the recent drop in price to around $120. You do indeed get a lot more options with the Q9U with the low filter and mid-boost. If the Q9U were still priced at $200, I would buy the SL40 just because of the great value, but at $120, the Q9U squeaks out the win, in my opinion. Thank you for watching, and you really can't go wrong with either of these mics at their current price points.
i recently bought a Shure MV7 but i’m kind of dealing with buyers remorse as it was $320 CAD…would it be worth the switch to this as i dont really see the point in a $320 mic for my streaming right now. but man does that mv7 ever look nice
I have been pretty content with my vmoda 3.5mm headphone mic. Combined with Nvidia Broadcasts background noise removal, it really sounds much better than it has any right to. But I'm making a switch to full time remote work and want to come across as professional as possible for career reasons. This seems to be the route I'll likely go. What would you suggest for an audio interface? Mostly for meetings and some online gaming. Don't need anything fancy at all. Would the entry level offerings from M-Audio or Behringer be all that's needed in your opinion for $40 - $60ish? If so that is a relatively small price for such a massive improvement. I've also gone from using a run of the mill Logitech webcam to using my old OnePlus 6T for the webcam and with a minor amount of Broadcasts background blur it honestly looks really nice for a budget setup. Awesome work on the video by the way, very professional.
Hello friend, thanks for the elaborate video! I currently have the Samson Q2U and I have a question, which model has more volume in USB mode, Samson Q2U or FDUCE SL40? I understand that the volume of the FDUCE SL40 is low in USB mode, I need it to do live shows through streaming and I need it to be heard loud and clear. A greeting and thanks in advance!! 🤟
I moved from a condenser NW700 to this and I do kind of miss the sibilant sound. Do you have recomended filters/plugins? I have noise supression and compressors in equalizer APO.
Although it does sounds nice, but for some reason it has some very minute and small cracks when you speak. I thought my headphones were messed up but I tried it to other videos and the headphones sounds fine.
Just what I'm looking for bro, sound amazing & since my USB -C port doesn't support video I rarely use it. Can we use the booster with the usb port or with the gain control is not necessary?
My desk unfortunately too small for an actual boom arm and i have a normal tabletop stand so I can't out the mic right next to my mouth. I do lean in a bit to get good sound, but I have no idea if there are other tabletop stand that are better than the standard round one
The headphone volume control doesn't work on my SL40, Creators Village also had the same problem in his video. Do you have the same problem or is mine just a defect?
What alternatives but as similar sound quality as possible to the old Shure M95 HE? cause I love the sound of Shure cardriges by far the best, for me all others sound too thin
What's up dude, do you think its worth buying this mic with an audio interface for casual gaming/discord? ive been using the tonor tc30 for two years, which is a starter usb mic, but im looking to upgrade my audio quality.
That would definitely be a nice upgrade. As far as if it's worth it, I can't make that call. It just depends on what will please you in the end. You could always do the upgrade in steps, by buying this mic first, using its USB output, and then buy an audio interface later on, and switch over to XLR at that point.
Hello, I watched your review, have a quick question please, I got the Fduce SL40, but I am not sure if the unit I got is detected or not? When i use the USB to record on my phone, all functions works great, mute button works, mic reduces background noise, and sound is completely fine. Once I use the usb to connect to my laptop, mute button is not working, mic collect all background noise and sound is loud, it's a bit better if I reduce volume to the minimum but still collecting background and mute not working. Any advice? Thanks in advance
I'm not an expert for setting up a mic for singing, but as I understand it, you will want to use a cardioid condenser mic for singing, which will be much more sensitive to a fuller range of sounds. This mic is more for podcasting, and its strength is in filtering out unwanted background noise. I like the sound of this mic for spoken word, but it does not sound accurate to what my voice actually sounds like. This gives me an artificial "bassy/boomy" sound. It probably wouldn't be good for capturing accurate singing vocals.
I got this mic and so far love it! (I got the VeGue model). One question, though, the pop filter which comes with it doesn't do a very good job, has anyone modified it or changed it to something else? If so, was it any better?
So I've got the microphone. and want to use it on USB. is there a way that you can play the sound straight out of the Dongle. which I have got for my iPad which has headphone connection on it. because every time I try to. it only outputs out the back of the mic. And when I mute the microphone on the iPad it still comes out. if I use the microphone output for the headphones
It depends on the model of Nexigo. If you use a camera with a fixed focus lens, you basically can't. In the close up shot with the fan noise test in this video, I placed the Nexigo N660P close to the mic, and the fan far away then dialed in the focus manually with OBS.
Noise isolation is a huge reason you would chose a dynamic microphone. Especially if you are recording more than one person speaking. A dynamic microphone will make your voice sound a lot smoother/warmer, generally the closer to your mouth the better. A dynamic microphone will also be more forgiving on peaking and plosives. I didn't run any filters or EQ in this video (until the end) but after it's EQ'd properly, the right dynamic mic will sound smooth as butter. You --could-- use a shotgun mic like the Rode NTG, but you're setting yourself up for a lot of problems that could just be easily avoided. With a dynamic mic, you don't need to worry as much about how well your recording area is sound treated, and you wouldn't have to (potentially) do as much post-cleanup. All of these points are especially important if you're setting up specifically for a podcast, where the product is your voice, and video is secondary. I used to want a mic out of the shot, too, but then I realized that microphones are cool, and actually make the shot more interesting. :)
